Application

  • Cavity gap filling and perimeter pointing between walls and timber frames of fire-rated timber doors and screens.
  • Fire-stopping seal providing up to 60 minutes of fire resistance.
  • Suitable for flexible stud partitions, masonry and concrete walls; hardwood, softwood (FD30 only) and MDF fire-rated door frames.
  • Gap must be 30 mm wide or less depending on performance criteria. 

 

Description

FAS Fire Door Foam is a polyurethane (PUR) foam specifically designed to seal the gaps between walls and fire door frames.

This is the only orange fire-rated foam on the UK market, created specifically to distinguish it from general pink fire foams that haven’t been tested to work with fire doorsets.

Features and benefits:

  • Achieves fire protection for up to 60 minutes. 
  • Can be used with most standard methods of fixing.
  • Sound reduction capabilities of up to 60 dB Rw.
  • Certifire Approved - CF5839.
  • Successfully tested with fire-rated timber doorsets for 30 to 120 minutes of fire resistance in accordance with BS 476:Part 22:1987 and BS EN 1634-1.

Shelf Life

12 months if stored in accordance with storage guidance.

Storage & Disposal

  • Cans can be stored for at least 12 months from the production date when stored   unopened under cool, dry conditions between 5°C and 30°C.  They should not be left in an overheated environment or in direct sunlight. Do not expose the product to temperatures exceeding 50°C.
  • Empty cans should be disposed of appropriately in line with local regulations. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for more information.

Maintenance

  • Recorded inspection should be conducted in line with the maintenance and inspection schedule that is defined for the building or project. These should be conducted and recorded by competent individuals.
  • Where product is damaged or tampered, new product should be installed with the installation guidance.

  • Covers a period of ten years when installed correctly - refer to FAS Fire Door Foam™ installation guidance. It is expected to maintain its functionality as a fire-stopping system after ten years and recommend that the product is inspected annually as part of a fire door routine inspection.
