Description

High-performance laminated safety glass incorporating advanced interlayer technology for enhanced structural integrity, post-breakage performance, edge stability, and UV protection.

Features and benefits:

Safety classification: Class 1(C)1 to BS EN 12600.
Security rating: minimum P2A to BS EN 356.
Light transmittance: ≥88% (for clear glass).
UV transmittance: ≤0.5%.
Visible light reflectance: ≤8%.
Sound reduction index (Rw): 35–36 dB.
Impact resistance: shall meet or exceed the requirements of BS 6180 for barriers in and about buildings.
Wind load resistance: shall withstand design wind loads in accordance with BS EN 1991-1-4.

Glass composition:

Outer ply:
- Material: fully toughened heat soak tested safety glass to BS EN 12150 and BS EN 14179.
- Thickness: 6 mm (nominal).
- Finish: clear/mid Iron or low iron as specified in schedule.
- Processing: heat soak tested in accordance with BS EN 14179 to minimize the risk of spontaneous breakage due to nickel sulfide inclusions.
Interlayer:
- Material: Kuraray SentryGlas® ionoplast or equivalent high-performance structural interlayer.
- Thickness: 1.52 mm (nominal).
- Properties: high stiffness, superior edge stability, excellent post-breakage performance, and enhanced weather resistance.
Inner ply:
- Material: fully toughened heat soak tested safety glass to BS EN 12150 and BS EN 14179.
- Thickness: 6 mm (nominal).
- Finish: clear/mid iron or low iron as specified in schedule.
- Processing: heat soak tested in accordance with BS EN 14179 to minimize the risk of spontaneous breakage due to nickel sulfide inclusions.
Overall thickness: 13.52 mm (nominal).
