Application

  • For all applications, including bathrooms, wet rooms, hospitals, clinics and all public health institutions.
  • Versatile sealant for use in commercial and domestic applications.
  • Bonds to most substrates including woods, metals, brickwork, fibreglass, glass, ceramics, uPVC, concrete and most plastic (except PP, PE and PTFE).
  • Formulated to seal joints where a strong bond and movement accommodation is required.
  • Service temperature range: -40°C to 80°C
  • Suitable for the sealing of joints in refrigerated vehicle sections for food or pharmaceutical transportation.
  • Suitable for use in the manufacture of cold storage areas and food preparation areas.
  • Suitable for most substrates especially where superior antimicrobial performance is required.
  • Suitable for use in hygienic duct installations.
  • BT1 can also be painted but must be fully cured and is usable with all common water-based paints (not suitable with alkyd paints). For best results, prior testing is recommended.
  • For application advice on powder-coated substrates contact the powder-coating manufacturer.

How is BT1 Supplied?

BT1 is supplied in a 290mm cartridge.

How to prepare BT1 for use!

To prepare your BT1 for application, you need to;

  • Remove the nozzle at the top of the cartridge and cut the cap off (at the top of the thread section) using a sharp utility knife.
  • Cut the nozzle correct size using a sharp utility knife. This will determine the size of your bead. Make sure to do it at a 45-degree angle.

How to apply BT1 sealant and adhesive!

With the BT1 cartridge open and the nozzle cut to suit the bead of sealant needed applying BT1 sealant and adhesive is very straightforward.

Simply;

  • Load the prepared cartridge into your caulking gun securely.
  • Squeeze down on the trigger to start applying BT1.
  • Apply BT1 sealant evenly in a straight line, using consistent pressure to the trigger as you drag the nozzle along your desired application area.

Once you’ve applied your bead of BT1 along your desired area, use C-TEC Multisolve to lightly coat the sealant and tool the bead to suit with the appropriate equipment.

How long does it take to cure?

Curing times:

BT1 works instantly and is fully cured in:

  • 24 hours – 3mm bead
  • 48 hours – 6mm bead
  • 72 hours – 9mm bead

Note: Depending on how thick your application of sealant, you may have to wait longer before it’s fully cured.
