Application
Designed to provide a quick-fit, projecting edge drained system for steel bolt-on or slide-on balconies and walkways.
As the name implies, in an edge drainage scenario water is collected and directed to an edge where it is thrown clear of the building. Balconies and terraces which project no more than 2.5 m from the face of the building may be drained over a perimeter edge into an open space, provided the run-off does not cause damage or staining to surfaces below, cause damage or erosion to landscaping, or create a nuisance to people using or visiting the building
Description
AliClad Edge Drainage is a soffit-level projecting edge drainage system. An extended gutter option to push water 30 mm away from the edge of the balcony below as per BS 8579:2020.
AliClad Edge Drainage is a modular and configurable system, designed with steel fabricators in mind. AliDrain Edge Drainage is comprised of a range of components as follows:
- A flat, interlocking structural-grade aluminium flow cladding board
- A Flow Cladding Starter Trim
- An Extended Flow Cladding Gutter
- A Flow Cladding Support Rail
This Soffit-Level Edge Drainage system is designed to collect rainwater in the channels of the Flow Cladding Board before it is directed into an Extended Flow Cladding Gutter. Rainwater is then evacuated at a minimum of 30 mm past the balcony edge. Once you have installed the support rail and the extended flow cladding gutter, creating the required fall, simply slide the flow cladding boards within these profiles, seal extrusions and use starter trims and end caps to complete the installation.
