MacMillan Academy, responsible for the care and education of 1500 11- 18-year olds, undertook during the summer of 2019, a large project to further refurbish many corridors within its central building, with the help of Yeoman Shield wall protection products. As a campus site the Academy’s central building is one of the oldest dating from around 1940 and in a bid to meet today’s expectations and blend seamlessly with the newer, fresher facilities it was key to find a solution which both enhanced the overall appearance, whilst also ensuring hardwearing durable areas were achieved.

The Northern General Hospital in Sheffield chose Yeoman Shield fire rated door protection systems to refurbish doors in the Radiology Department. The configuration and refurbishment of the department was undertaken to improve patient flow, the overall environment and to rationalise inpatient and outpatient areas to satisfy privacy, dignity and capacity issues. Yeoman Shield’s (Harrison Thompson) directly employed fixing operatives, who have been assessed as being competent to install such passive fire-resistant products by FIRAS, installed fire rated door protection panels, PVCu clad Glazing Bead Units and Door Edge Protectors to various doors throughout the unit.

SPIE, who manage and maintain schools for a variety of institutions nationwide, engaged with Yeoman Shield when carrying out lifecycle works for a group of Salford Schools. With a requirement for attractive, clean and damage free environments, for the comfort of students and staff, SPIE contracted Yeoman Shield to install their wall protection panels in areas of the schools which were receiving heavy footfall and impact damage.

Fairfield School in Batley, West Yorkshire, managed by FM company Pinnacle Group, engaged with Yeoman Shield wall & door protection specialists to carry out re-branding and maintenance work during the February half-term.Catering for students from 4 – 19 years old with a wide range of needs, the school premises required the protection rails and handrails along the main corridors to receive new covers to reflect the fresh re-branding of the school.Having previously installed their Guardian Handrail and 200 mm Protection Rail products in the school, Yeoman Shield were able to remove the original covers and replace with the vibrant colour ways of Aqua Blue rails and Steel Blue stop end and corner accessories offering a contrast to highlight doorways, entrances and direction changes.Michael Cooper, Lifecycle & Variation Manager for FM division of Pinnacle said of the work carried out:“Many thanks to Yeoman Shield for the smooth and successful completion of this project.
