Resistant and good looking, it can be incorporated into both contemporary and traditional architecture.

elZinc Natural Datasheet

elZinc® Natural is the original metallic grey finish produced by our manufacturing process. Once exposed to the elements, elZinc® Naturally develops a compact protective layer called patina. This patina provides exceptional resistance to corrosion, resulting in the gradual loss of its metallic luster until it takes on its characteristic matt grey colour. The final shade of the colour largely depends on the environmental conditions to which it is exposed, as particulate matter and dust in the air are drawn into the patina.

The pre-weathering is performed using a non-polluting phosphate treatment that gives it a uniform appearance that would have been achieved after several years of exposure to the open air, whist preserving its initial properties. elZinc Slate® is used in roofing and cladding, where it harmonizes perfectly with other traditional building materials, or indoors, where a natural patina would take much longer to form. It is also especially appreciated in restoration and renovation since its initial colour allows it to blend in easily with existing weathered zinc.

KME Patina Hamburg Datasheet

Often the shortest path leads you directly to your goal. If the design concept calls for the vigour and force of expression of the green patina finish typical for copper, then it should be put into practice immediately without a long wait for the gradual effects of natural weathering. There is a name to the solution: TECU® Patina industrially pre-patinated copper for immediate use to satisfy the highest aesthetic demands in building design.

KME TECU Brass Datasheet

Copper alloys are the new highlight façade materials: singular, extremely durable and distinctly alive. One of the best-known copper alloys, Brass is given particular quality in the form of TECU® Brass, a special alloy of copper and zinc. The TECU® Alloy materials also display individual characteristics as they weather naturally to exteriors. The original surface of TECU® Brass changes through from initial matting gradually to a greenish-brown, that further develops to greyish brown then dark brown/anthracite colours. Sloped areas such as roofs ultimately develop a patina surface, akin to that of pure copper, yet quite clearly different.

KME TECU Bronze Datasheet

Bronze an alloy of copper and tin and a synonym for metallic works of art. While artists have long made use of bronze, architects are now also able to make optimum use of the material for more refinement in façade design. The original warm reddish-brown surface of TECU® Bronze develops in a distinctive manner through weathering. A brown-red surface oxidation with a brown-grey undertone is typical for this alloy; the material then gradually changes to dark brown anthracite throughout. The subsequent patina coating forms much more slowly than with pure copper.

KME TECU Classic Coated Brochure

Bright rolled copper, beautiful right from the outset, will display the amazing weathering effects over time. These natural effects are often appreciated, but not always intended by the end-user. Especially interior designers have often asked for a longer lasting bright copper surface. Now a solution highly recommended for façade cladding, roofing and interior applications is available. Surface change caused by oxidation can be stopped for a long period of time by pre-coating the material. This protective coating highlights the natural beauty of the original copper, giving it more depth and shine.

KME TECU Classic Datasheet

After installation on the building, TECU® Classic retains its typical bright red copper colouring for a period of time. Changes are gradual and not entirely predictable. First, the surface turns matt. Gradually, the material develops an oxide layer to protect it against the effects of weathering. This process brings with it striking colour variations through an entire range of brown and brown-violet tones, offering varying nuances according to change of light and season. Ultimately, on the sloping surfaces, the colour process yields a robust green patina as is typical for copper surfaces. This patina lends the cladding its distinctive character, at the same time providing long-lasting protection for decades to come.

KME TECU Gold Datasheet

Gold is more than overpowering gloss: TECU® Gold, the new copper and aluminium alloy for façade cladding, will soon after installation begin to develop a very elegant matt brown-golden appearance reminding of gold in a very specific way. Façade solutions in TECU® Gold give buildings a discreet value image. Depending on the incidence of light on façade surfaces, a fascinating, unequalled play of colours can be witnessed.

KME TECU Oxid Datasheet

Time-tested TECU® Classic quality copper with a completely different look: With TECU® Oxid, the initial bright, freshly-installed copper, and the gradual change of colour to shades of brown is simply bypassed. Natural changes on the building start immediately with a dark oxide layer. The process continues as with classical copper: Nature changes the surface through the effects of sun, rain, snow and wind, giving it an exciting life of its own always unique, typical copper. TECU® Oxid copper sheets and strips are pre-oxidised on both sides in a patented industrial process that is gentle on the material. The oxide layer is not artificial but results naturally from the copper itself.

KME TECU Premium Brochure

KME TECU Premium is an innovative alloy of copper with a small proportion of high-grade tin. The material has a finely beaded pre-structure and a matte finish. Its particular surface structure enables a special oxidation pattern: it oxidises faster and more intensively and evenly, with a more matte finish than the well known plain rolled TECU products. TECU Premium can be processed with modern cladding techniques as well as with traditional metalworking craftsmanship. Slightly harder than normal copper it can be better soldered thanks to its tin content. TECU Premium belongs to the TECU Ecological Copper Alloys and is predestined for certified green buildings. All components of the alloy originate 100% from recycled material.
