SIDERISE CBX Flexible Acoustic Barriers for Suspended Ceilings (formerly Lamaphon CBX)

Flexible composite quilts designed for free-hanging in ceiling voids above partition lines. They have been specifically developed to provide a simple solution to the common problem of improving `room-to-room' sound separation via a common ceiling void. All grades offer exceptional sound reduction properties in comparison to common ad-hoc solutions using standard flexible/ resilient materials.

SIDERISE CBX acoustic ceiling void barriers are multi-layered composite materials. The central layer is a thin flexible heavy septum membrane. Two types of membrane are available; lead foil or a polymeric heavy salt loaded barrier. Both types incorporate to one side a laminated glass fabric 'anti-creep' layer. This is designed to prevent possible long-term elongation of the product in its normal free hanging condition. Additionally, this layer provides additional reinforcement to through penetrations at fixing points. Both types of central membranes provide matching acoustic performance for each of the two standard surface weight options. The primary difference between the types is their mechanical characteristics when bent or deformed. The lead foil membrane has a tendency to memorize deformation. Each side of the membrane has a soft high-tensile glass fibre insulation layer, faced on the exposed surface with a reinforced aluminium foil. It is extremely quick and easy to install and is suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects.

SIDERISE CVB Acoustic Void Barriers (formerly Lamaphon CVB)

SIDERISE acoustic void barriers are primarily intended to reduce sound transmission via hidden voids offering potential 'cross-talk' paths to adjoining areas. Typical examples include suspended ceiling or raised access floor voids at partition lines and the cavity formed at floor slab abutments to curtain walls.

As standard, the product incorporates opposing interlocking rebate joints in one direction. This feature helps maintain acoustic integrity at joints within the installed barrier. SIDERISE acoustic void barrier - facades is available in a number of grades and thicknesses offering a wide range of sound reduction values. The product is also available with a choice of optional high mass central membranes to achieve substantially higher SRI values. Some acoustic void barriers - facades have certified fire resistance permitting their dual use as ceiling or floor void fire barriers. The product is extremely simple to fix and can be easily cut to accommodate service penetrations.

The rockfibre insulation core is available in two different structural forms:

  • SFO (conventional, i.e. direction of the internal fibres predominantly aligns with that of the barrier itself).
  • HSL (special ‘lamella’ construction, i.e. the internal fibres have a perpendicular orientation and additionally are held in a pre-compressed state).

The SFO form is also optionally available with the inclusion of a central limp heavy membrane. Two surface weights of the polymeric membrane are available: P5 (5 kg/m²) or P10 (10 kg/m²).

SIDERISE CW-AB Acoustic Barrier Overlay - Facades (formerly Lamatherm CW-AB)

A flexible acoustic composite for use as a mass overlay within curtain walling to form a high performance sound barrier. They represent a simple solution to the problem of improving 'floor-to-floor' acoustic performance when used in conjunction with SIDERISE CW-FS Perimeter Barriers and Firestops for Curtain Walling (formerly Lamatherm CW-FS fire and smoke stop for curtain walling).

SIDERISE Acoustic Barriers are extremely quick and easy to install and are suitable for improving sound performance within all curtain walling environments. Being flexible and thin, they are ideal for curtain wall application as unlike rigid boards or partitions, SIDERISE Acoustic Barrier Overlay is designed to accommodate façade deflection.

SIDERISE FIP high performance acoustic panel is a thin multi-layered board offering exceptional sound transmission performance and has been specifically developed to provide a solution where an internal partition abuts a curtain wall or window mullion. The barrier’s flexibility allows it to be easily deformed around localized obstructions within the ceiling void.

SIDERISE LGS Linear Gap Seal – Facades (formerly Lamathern CW-GS)

SIDERISE LGS is a third party certified intumescent strip designed to seal junctions between building elements to prevent the spread of fire and smoke, providing up to 240mins fire resistance.

Part of the Certifire approved range of linear gap seals, these intumescent seals comprise a flame retardant acoustic foam core with an intumescent coating. In fire conditions they maintain a close fit to prevent the spread of cold smoke. On the fire side the foam compresses and is replaced by the expanding intumescent, preventing rapid fire spread into the joint. The non-fire side retains flexibility accommodating heat induced structural movement.

  • Supplied in 1 metre lengths, standard sizes available to suit voids up to 100mm; 2 and 4 hour fire ratings available.

SIDERISE MI Mullion and Transom Inserts for Curtain Walling (formerly Lamaphon Mullion / Transom Inserts)

SIDERISE Mullion and Transom Inserts comprise a range of specialist material components intended to improve the sound insulation performance of lightweight hollow framed façades or glazed areas. Whilst the inserts may be employed for the purpose of improving the sound transmission characteristics of the building envelope (e.g. outside to inside performance), more commonly they are used to assist in reducing flanking transmission between adjacent internal areas. This includes ‘room to room’ and ‘floor to floor’ flanking sound transmission. Specific optimal solutions have been developed for each of the common conditions encountered in curtain wall constructions. The design of the appropriate insert considers not only acoustic performance but also ease and practicality of installation. In-house manufacturing techniques such as CNC/ die cutting or routing permits an accurate tailored fit within the particular hollow frame element.

SIDERISE AVC Mullion Closures:

Die-cut parts in a dense resilient foam material with a central flexible heavy membrane. Usually die-cut to the exact internal profile of the hollow frame section. Depending on the sound insulation performance required they may be deployed singly or in pairs.

SIDERISE HB Inserts:

Shaped composite high mass layer and acoustic foam inserts. Comprises a layer of V Foam with a 10 kg/m² limp elastomeric barrier membrane to one side. Fitted in pairs in a back-to-back arrangement with the barrier layers to the outside.

SIDERISE MF Inserts:

Shaped resin bonded rock fibre absorptive inserts.

SIDERISE V Foam Baffles:

Shaped impregnated acoustic foam absorptive insert baffles, typically in 300–600 mm lengths and are usually installed centred on the midpoint of the compartment line.

SIDERISE NXS Firesafe Spandrel Insulation (formerly Lamatherm NXS)

SIDERISE NXS spandrel insulation is a high strength insulation core that offers an unrivalled combination of fire, thermal and acoustic performance, designed for bonding to glass spandrel panels.

It comprises firesafe mineral fibre lamella boards faced on one side with an open polymer filament net fabric to facilitate bonding to the glazed unit, faced with Class 0 foil on the reverse.

NXS insulation presents a compatibility of materials between the rear of the spandrel unit and the firestop system installed at compartment floors/walls. Compartmentation is ensured as interface integrity between the insulation and firestop is maintained.

Supplied to suit the glazing unit schedule or as standard boards, edge rebating/surface profiling is optional. Thickness is determined according to the thermal/fire performance required.

Lamatherm SIDERISE raisedRF access floor system has been specifically developed to provide cavity fire stops for use in voids between raised access floors and floor slabs. SIDERISE RH ‘Open State’ horizontal cavity barriers incorporate a continuous high performance reactive intumescent strip which is bonded to the leading edge. The intumescent material has a reaction to fire performance to Class 'E'. In the event of exposure to fire, the intumescent rapidly expands and fully seals the purposely designed ventilation gap, formed at the time of installation, between barrier and the rear of the cladding.

SIDERISE SC Cavity Barriers and Firestops for Suspended Ceilings (formerly Lamatherm SC)

SIDERISE SC cavity fire barriers and firestops used in suspended ceilings to improve room-to-room sound reduction and prevent the spread of fire and smoke, providing up to 300mins fire performance.

This leading range includes options to either subdivide large uninterrupted cavities (CB) or to provide continuity of fire resistance when aligned underneath partitions (FS).

Constructed from a pre-compressed mineral fibre core it offers unique vertical compression to allow tightness of fit; faced on two sides with Class A1 foil.

CB fire barriers suit ceiling void heights up to 1175mm, and are supplied as standard with interlocking rebated joints (RJ) enhancing acoustic performance. For voids under 200mm they are supplied butt jointed (BJ).
