Bay Tree House Care Home, Wrexham

Bay Tree House is a Residential Care Home, situated in a quiet residential area near to the town of Wrexham. Orchard Care Group recently completed a major upgrade and refurbishment plan to transform the building but ultimately keep its homely feel for which it is well-known. Richard Burbidge pre primed round handrails and associated brushed nickel brackets/end caps were used throughout the home to create not only a safety conscious, but beautiful modern finish. Various decorative moulding profiles were also used to create depth and a panelled affect on plain walls.

Bramshott Place Retirement Village, Hampshire

The Village is centred around an exclusive clubhouse with an atrium winter garden that offers residents a range of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, fitness and games rooms, hydrotherapy pool, library and communal entertaining areas. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed with both glass panels and tubular metal balusters in the clubhouse to complement its high-end finish and attractive design scheme. The glass panel system was fitted on the clubhouse’s gallery landing, which overlooks the main atrium, to maximise the sense of space and create a dramatic first impression on potential buyers and visitors.

BUPA Oak Lodge - 71 Bed Nursing Home

Providing specialist dementia care facilities as well as a day centre for the elderly. The £5.7million development was delivered by BUPA and Southampton City Council. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on the main staircase to provide a safe and stylish barrier. The system’s combination of minimalist oak handrails and sleek tubular balusters in a contemporary brushed nickel finish complemented the building’s modern décor and other good quality furnishings, whilst its availability off the-shelf meant there were no lengthy lead times. Richard Burbidge also supplied wall mounted handrails for installation throughout the building.

Folkestone Rugby Club, Kent

Folkestone Rugby Club transformed its traditional clubhouse into a modern sports and social facility, complete with balcony viewing area. Approximately 40 metres of FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade were installed on the perimeter of the new balcony to provide an essential safety barrier. The glass panel system enhanced the sense of space, with minimal disruption to views of the pitch. The club’s logo was etched into the glass panels to add a bespoke finishing touch.

Holgates Holiday Park

Spacious decks were installed on luxury holiday homes at the upmarket Holgates Caravan Park, to extend the living space and make the most of the picturesque Morecambe Bay location. FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade with glass panels was installed around the curved decks, which extend from and surround three of the park’s best-placed homes, overlooking steep cliffs with stunning views. In light of the location, the balustrade was an essential safety feature, over 15 glass panels were fitted around the edge of each deck. By selecting the glass panel option, the breath-taking views remain undisturbed.

Housestyle Countrywide, Warwickshire

Property development company, Housestyle Countrywide carefully designs all its properties with space and natural light in mind, maximising on these areas to help create beautiful, sustainable homes. As part of the Clarendon Mews project, located in Leamington Spa, the Richard Burbidge team were brought on board to provide Fusion Glass stairparts. Since the success of Clarendon Mews project, Richard Burbidge has continued to facilitate projects with Housestyle Countrywide on a regular basis, and has provided its Immix Glass stairparts range to a wide range of developments, notably the Bishops Acre, Farriers Way, Spring Acre and The Limes projects.

Kentgate Place, Cumbria

The new four-storey development comprises 46 apartments each with its own parking space, balcony and designer bathroom, and also includes 12 local occupancy homes. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on the residences’ main staircase which provides shared access for occupants and visitors.

Lion Quays, Shropshire

FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on all three internal staircases, which provide access from the main lobby to the facilities on the first floor, in addition it was also installed on the first floor balcony overlooking the reception area. For the main access stairwell surrounding the lift access the first flight consists of 10 steps leading to an extended half landing. A further 10 steps form the remainder of the flight and this is finished with a 90° top landing. Matching wall mounted handrail has been utilised around the external perimeter of the staircase.

Mariners' Park, Liverpool

Richard Burbidge has provided a bespoke FUSION curved handrail and accompanying stairparts to create a secure and stylish hallway at Trinity House Hub on Mariners’ Park in Wallasey, Merseyside. The latest addition to the Park, an Extra Care Housing scheme, opened in 2014 by The Princess Royal, provides an extra 18 apartments and communal facilities to the 95 existing properties. Stairparts specialist Richard Burbidge has supplied curved corridor handrails to the new development, mirroring the curved design of the building, as well as providing a robust Fusion Commercial stair balustrade to the communal staircase.

Maulyte Building Contractors

Maulyte Building Contractors transformed its industrial unit into a modern office suite and high specification showroom. FUSION® Commercial balustrade was installed on two flights along the entrance wall and side wall, providing access from the ground to the first floor. The staircase was a straight closed string with a straight step. The first flight consists of 6 steps, leading to a quarter turn with landing. A further 12 steps form the final flight, which finishes with a 90° turn top landing.

Moorland Tennis Club

Moorland Tennis Club has undergone a £500,000 transformation to produce an impressive new clubhouse and modern tennis facilities. FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade glass panel system was installed on the clubhouse’s external balcony, which extends from and surrounds the clubhouse creating a rectangular balcony. By selecting the glass panel option, the views remained undisturbed, and 16 glass panels were fitted around the balcony.

Royal Connaught Park, Bushey

Prodigious development of luxury homes and apartments at ex-public school in Bushey, Herts. The Victorian gothic buildings of Royal Connaught Park have been the location for a multitude of films and television shows. The large dining hall was used as Hogwarts' Great Hall in the first three films in the Harry Potter series. Richard Burbidge Fusion Glass balustrade has been used on both the refurbishment phase of the original school and also subsequent new build phases within the grounds. Product supplied in re finished Walnut to compliment the schemes doors and floors.

St Mellion International Resort, Cornwall

Specified by architects Pearn & Proctor, the resort has undergone a £20million refurbishment programme. The complex now offers a contemporary 4-star hotel, an impressive leisure facility with 3 pools and a spa, and a selection of restaurants. The resort also boasts two championship golf courses. FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade with glass was installed on all guest balconies within the three-storey hotel. Its modern mix of metal newels and hardwood handrails makes it ideal for contemporary settings, whilst the large glass infill panels maximise the sense of space on the balconies and allow an unobstructed view of the 18th fairway.

The Bay, North Kessock

The Bay at North Kessock, Inverness by renowned property developer Tulloch Homes is an exclusive collection of executive detached homes from Tulloch Homes luxury collection. The prominence of this unique location extends to the specification of these distinctive homes, providing a luxurious finish throughout.

Toast Cafe Bar & Grill

Toast Café Bar and Grill Restaurant from businessman Riccy Caunce is a relaxed café bistro by day and a sophisticated grill by night, located in the busy Blackpool town centre. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on the main restaurant staircase from ground to mezzanine level providing access from the main bar and entrance to the restaurant. The staircase consists of 14 steps of rake balustrade on both sides, leading to gallery balustrade to side and front of the mezzanine level covering 8 metres.

Water Lane, Cobham

A development of four luxury properties situated in Cobham's popular and leafy Water Lane. Specification for the large feature staircase in each property included Richard Burbidge Heritage Collection large section 115mm newels, in combination with 41mm balusters, finished with an Oak moulded handrail profile. The large section newels create an impressive aesthetic and also allow the handrails to negotiate the acute changes in angle caused by the helical staircase design.

Willows & Patricroft Projects, Manchester

Richard Burbidge has provided a safe and stylish balcony solution for Watson Homes’ recent developments. As part of the Willows and Patricroft projects, Watson Homes selected Richard Burbidge’s Fusion Outdoor Juliette Balconies to provide the perfect balance between practicality and aesthetics. The Willows development comprises of new homes, bungalows and 21 apartments. The second project, Patricroft is located in Salford, comprises 36 new build apartments. Richard Burbidge’s Fusion Outdoor Juliette Balconies have helped to enhance the exterior of the developments, creating a welcoming environment and safe access for residents.
