A luxury development of contemporary apartments in Balby has joined the long list of residential projects to specify Neacos’s all-in-one balcony solutions.
The three-storey complex includes the company's walk-on balconies which come complete with a full provision of modular components including stanchions, toprails, glass infill panels and grille flooring.
Neaco's modular balconies are manufactured and assembled at the factory stage for a fast installation which minimises time, energy consumption and waste on site. The development also includes Neaco's glass Juliet balconies which offer the same qualities based on a similar modular construction.
Aluminium decking modified to assist visually impaired

neaco provided a bespoke modification to its Techdek aluminium decking system as part of a bridge specification at the Grand Canal Dock development project in Dublin.
Using the renowned design versatility of the company’s technical team and state-of-the-art precision engineering facilities at its Malton factory, neaco developed a unique grille surface which features tactile strips to alert visually impaired pedestrians when they are nearing a step.
Providing a high architectural aesthetic, Techdek is extremely versatile and can be used in many other applications, including staging, modesty screens, solar shading, maintenance galleries and roof access walkways.

Reflections in Chesterton, by HC Moss (Builders) Ltd, won Best Small Development in the Cambridge News Property Awards to become the latest in a long list of award-winning projects to feature Neaco products.
Paul Ursell of HC Moss (Builders) Ltd explained the benefits of using Neaco’s structural glass:
“We incorporated frameless bi-fold doors and needed to match this with frameless glass balustrade affording a seamless outlook over the river. Every detail needed to be very high-end so we specified a stainless steel top rail to cap the structural glass.”

The multi-million pound UK headquarters of TPP (The Phoenix Partnership) in Leeds was purpose-built by contractors ISG and designed by Bowman Riley Architects. The frontal elevation of traditional Yorkshire stone with pitched tiled roofing contrasts to a rear façade featuring a contemporary appearance with extensive curtain walling. neaco supplied bespoke balconies and external balustrade to both sections, combining traditional-style railed infills with a contemporary twist in the form of tapered flat-bar stanchions with laser-cut holes. This combination has achieved design consistency across the building whilst harmonising with the contrasting aesthetics of the front and rear.

A range of one and two bedroom luxury properties in Huntingdon has become the latest prestigious apartment development to feature Neaco’s contemporary balustrade systems.
The four-storey complex includes extensive terrace areas with Neaco’s balustrade combining glass infill panels with aluminium stanchions and rails specified in a grey powder coated finish. In contrast to balustrade with a painted finish, which is prone to flaking, the hard-wearing powder coating ensures that the balustrade retains its aesthetic quality. It also provides low thermal conductivity to prevent handrails from becoming extremely cold to the touch in winter conditions.

Neaco’s glass balustrade and aluminium grille systems are once again proving their value in contemporary design schemes following a specification at Fawcetts Yard, a development of luxury homes in Harrogate.
Designed by Bramhall Blenkharn and built by HACS Construction, the select development comprises four stylish three-storey homes alongside a workshop/studio. The balconies on each home feature Neaco’s Techdek decking as well as their Elan semi-structural balustrade system with aluminium stanchions and handrails in a grey powder coated finish. The result is an attractively minimalist aesthetic in keeping with the development’s modern design and finish.

Another development of luxury apartments – this time on the scenic coast of Yorkshire – has specified Neaco’s range of glass balcony designs, balustrade and metal grating.

Neaco supplied an extensive balustrade specification to help transform a Grade II Listed former Post Office and Telephone Exchange into Grade A contemporary offices in Sheffield.
SDA Architects designed the comprehensive internal revamp of the property, built in the 1920s, to create Steel City House comprising 60,000 square feet of prime commercial space across five storeys. Neaco’s structural glass balustrade forms part of the £10m project’s signature feature: a new central atrium which brings natural light into the heart of the building. The roof terrace also features Neaco’s structural glass balustrade.

Improving accessibility has always been a recurring theme in the specification of Neaco’s products and so it proved again when the company’s balustrade systems were called into service for entrance ramps at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service’s new cutting-edge Hull Central Fire Station.
Jefferson Sheard Architects sought to design an accessible and welcoming facility to serve the local community. Neaco’s contribution was integral to this objective with aluminium handrails and balustrade to steps and two extensive ramps at the main entrance. The system was also specified with glass infill panels for a first-floor terrace.

Neaco has supplied an extensive balustrade specification for a landmark development as part of East Riding College’s new Beverley Campus and Environmental Technologies Centre.
Architects Jefferson Sheard worked alongside the College and stakeholders in the development of a concept for a modern facility which acts as the face of the institution and concentrates on the Beverley Minster as an inspirational focal point, sense of place and historic context for students and staff. Neaco decking chosen for another landmark bridge

Neaco’s aluminium decking has been specified for another landmark bridge project at Bécon-les-Bruyères train station which forms part of the extensive redevelopment of the Zac des Bruyeres Courbevoie in Paris.
The striking new footbridge is the key feature of first phase of modernisation carried out by contractors, Groupe GCC. It now facilitates access to routes for travelers and allows residents the passage of Asnieres-sur-Seine at Courbevoie. Bécon-les-Bruyères is one of the busiest stations in the suburbs, with more than 20,000 passengers per day.

Neaco’s Techdek aluminium decking has been specified for an innovative internal cycle park at the XYZ building, a cutting edge workspace in Manchester designed by Cartwright Pickard.
Robert Phillips, Associate at Cartwright Pickard, said: “We specified Techdek for the cycle ramp due its robust construction and the simplicity of its design – the modular nature of its construction, its excellent drainage capabilities and the ribbed profile for surety under foot. We supplied and installed our Spectrum nylon-coated balustrades with glass infills and Neatdek aluminium decking with alternate inserts on every balcony. Frosted glass screens were also supplied between balconies to provide an element of privacy for the occupants.

Neaco’s contemporary handrails and balustrade have contributed to an award-winning development at the new Barker’s Furniture Store in Northallerton.
Designed by SP&Architects and constructed by Wharton Construction Ltd, the store’s mixture of new build and refurbishment won Best commercial building/scheme in the North & East Yorkshire region at Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards 2016. Neaco’s Quad stanchion was specified with tubular toprails and toughened glass infills to provide a contemporary solution on an internal stairway and mezzanine floor.

Neaco’s semi-structural glass balustrade and aluminium decking have been extensively specified at The Slate, the University of Warwick’s impressive conference centre occupying a waterside setting in the heart of the campus near Coventry.
Designed by Associated Architects and built by Speller Metcalfe, the facility comprises 650 sqm of flexible event space.The building maximises views of the adjoining lake with a predominance of glazing and no pillars or fixtures to obscure the outlook. Neaco’s balustrade lines the full-length of a front terrace overlooking the lake and accommodates the view with clear glass panel infills.
Neaco specified at King Abdulaziz International Airport

Neaco’s roof walkway system has been installed at world's largest single standing seam roofing project at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The $100 million development includes the airport’s new terminal building, railway station, air traffic control centre and the main fire and rescue facility, requiring a combination of straight, tapered and curved roofs with high acoustic and thermal performance specifications.
The development involved the construction of 350,000 square metres of Kalzip standing seam roofing - the largest single Kalzip project ever undertaken – which includes Neaco’s aluminium open grille walkways and associated handrails.
Neaco specified for new care home

Neaco have supplied a contemporary balustrade specification for a 60-bed residential care home in Barrow.
The £7m Parkview Gardens care home has replaced four older Cumbria Care homes as part of a wider modernisation programme of care for older people in the Barrow area. Architects Alston Murphy Associates specified Neaco’s powder coated aluminium balustrade with glass infill panel. The building was designed to provide outdoor space on every floor, including first floor terraces featuring Neaco’s glazed balustrade installed to an extended height to provide additional safety. The terraces also include Neaco’s Techdek aluminium grilles as terrace decking.

The maintenance-free finish of Neaco’s powder coated aluminium balustrade has made it a long-standing favourite in the education sector, with countless specifications throughout the UK, and the latest example is a £14 million development at Elthorne Park High School in Ealing.
Designed by Re-format and built by Balfour Beatty on behalf of Ealing Borough Council, the building includes a new multi-purpose performance and activity space, extended library facilities, additional Sixth Form teaching and study space. Neaco supplied a bespoke specification combining a railed Juliet balcony design with its contemporary glass balustrade to meet the aesthetic requirements of The Pembroke, a prestigious development of luxury apartments in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Designed by BHD Architects, the project formed part of an extensive redevelopment of a site at the junction with London Road and Pembroke Road, and included the construction of a new apartment complex comprising 22 properties with parking at basement level. The scheme was designed to fit into the established pattern of development of the surrounding area, in terms of scale and appearance.

The University of Liverpool’s Materials Innovation Factory (MIF), an award-winning new build science research facility, is the latest high-profile development to feature an extensive specification of Neaco’s aluminium grille walkways.
The MIF is a public/private partnership between the University and Unilever. The £68m scheme was designed by the Fairhurst Design Group and built by BAM Construction. Neaco’s Techdek walkways provide external maintenance access on four storeys of the 11,600 sq m BREEAM Excellent rated building.

An urban regeneration project in Longford is the latest of a series of outstanding bridge projects to use Neaco’s Neadek aluminium decking.
Almost 20m long and 4.7m wide at its widest point, the Camlin River Bridge is a footbridge featuring a unique curved ‘bow’ design by Kenny Lyons architects.
Neatdek features a contact area of 74% on the surface yet drains water efficiently and its swage-locked construction enables high structural efficiency. The system has an anti-slip surface for increased safety and aluminium has an A1 Fire Rating – the highest achievable score for non-combustibility.

Roof walkways installed at striking football stadium

Neaco’s Techdek aluminium grille system has been specified as maintenance access walkways totalling over 232m in length on the roof structure which crowns the 51,000-seat Estadio BBVA Bancomer in Monterrey, Mexico.
Designed by The Kansas City-based Populous, the $200 million stadium is home to Club de Fútbol Monterrey. It features more premium seating than any other football stadium in Latin America and is the most expensive stadium ever built in Mexico.
The aluminum-clad design reflects the history of brewing and steel manufacturing in Monterrey with the silhouette of brewing stills inspiring an asymmetrical shape.
