Full FF&E fit-out for Balfour Hospital Orkney.Robertson Construction built this £65 million facility for NHS Orkney that is transforming healthcare services on the islands. We delivered the full FF&E fit-out including wall protection, blinds, bedheads and cubicles, as well as all the fitted furniture. Working closely with the Keppie Design team we also provided reception counters plus bespoke seating for the atrium and café.

Future-proof GP services for the community of Beaconsfield.The new 1800sqm Primary Care Centre was developed to bring together The Simpson Centre and Millbarn Medical Centre. Designed to cater for the forecast increase in the town’s population, the relocation of the two GP practices provides centralised, high-quality care for over 20,000 patients.Whilst both GP retain their own identities, the new building allows them to work collaboratively to improve patient journeys and provide more holistic care for the surrounding health community within the primary care network.

Situated by the iconic Clydebank crane, the Clydebank Health Centre is improving primary care services in the area and forming the central base for community health teams. Residents can access GP practices, podiatry and physiotherapy services plus consulting and treatment rooms. The new facility is described as forming a ‘centre point’ within the Queen’s Quay regeneration area.

New rehabilitation centre for the nation’s most severely injured military personnel.We were pleased to deliver the full FF&E fit-out including wall protection, blinds and cubicles as well as all the fitted furniture. Working closely with the Steffian Bradley team we also provide bespoke seating and reception counters. Brainchild of the late Gerald Grosvenor, 6th Duke of Westminster, the new DNRC centre was officially handed over in June 2018. The project involved restoration of a Grade II listed Hall, plus over 37,000m2 of new-build. The centre has impressive clinical rehabilitation facilities, including hydrotherapy pools, complex trauma wards, prosthetics and gait analysis facilities, plus Europe’s first multi-sensory CAREN 3D simulator.

Award-winning FF&E fitout for Foss Park MH HospitalWates delivered this £28 million York facility for adults and older adults in 2020.The hospital is part of ongoing community services rather than a long-term place of stay and admission is viewed as the exception rather than the norm. The beautiful surroundings, natural daylight and muted colours of the interior provide a calm, peaceful environment for patients and staff alike.

FF&E for Great Ormond Street’s Award-Winning Sight & Sound CentreKier Construction delivered this £25 million refurbishment and extension of the listed Italian Hospital on Queen Square, near Great Ormond Street. The building is now the Sight & Sound Clinic, helping children with sight and hearing difficulties.

A Health Centre with community at its heart.Out-dated and worn, Greenock’s former Health centre did not facilitate provision for modern, healthcare services. This was an opportunity to create a centre where the local community could get access to efficient, quality care close to home. Strong links to the surrounding area can be felt throughout the Health Centre through art works and displays created by members of the community. The layout of the building is centred around a courtyard garden with a bright, airy atrium that climbs with the site topography. The open-plan staff areas are located on the third floor with spectacular views across the Clyde with a roof terrace for the staff.

The Jubilee Building’s interiors promote calmness and healing.This new 3-storey modular building houses a mixture of paediatric, stroke care, rehabilitation and elderly care services. Specialist facilities include rehab gyms, a therapy kitchen and assisted ensuite bathrooms to accommodate patients that often may have dementia or other brain injuries.

Larger, safer, more effective Emergency Department for Crewe.The new emergency department extension to Leighton Hospital, Crewe, provides additional accident and emergency services in a state-of-the-art offsite building.

FF&E fitout for £60m medium-secure mental health unit at Northgate.As part of the £72.6m CEDAR (Care Environment Development and Re-provision) upgrade programme), Northgate will facilitate the best mental health provision for patients in the region. It will serve as a catalyst to allow all secure services across Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) to come together into a single, integrated centre of excellence.

Lighthouse Laboratory fights Covid with 140,000 sample tests per week.This £20 million regional testing lab was converted from an engineering warehouse. The 6,000 sqm task was completed in record time by Kier Construction, Stride Treglown and Hygenius.

Bringing space to life in Blackburn’s new Acute Medical Unit.Hygenius delivered the full FF&E for reception, wards, storage, staff education and wellbeing facilities at this new AMU for Blackburn Royal Hospital. The bright colours of the interior combined with its simple, clean design bring the space to life.
