Bilco Roof Access Hatch Provides Safe Roof-top Access at Blair Castle

Bilco UK's CS-50TB Roof Access Hatch provides the perfect solution for roof-top access at Blair Castle, Scotland. The Category A listed building is said to have been constructed in 1269 and has been extensively added to over the years. Maintaining such a historic monument is a massive task. The Atholl Estate employ an army of staff to ensure this iconic property is preserved for future generations. One of the many problems in looking after such a building is the fact that it was not designed with ease of access to the roof in mind.

Bilco Roof Access Hatches & Smoke Vents Chosen for the Glasgow Transport Museum

Bilco UK’s special zinc-clad Roof Access Hatches and Smoke Vents chosen for the Zaha Hadid designed Glasgow Transport Museum, Scotland. The roof specification included Smoke Vents and Roof Access to blend with the roof finish. Bilco supplied modified units with zinc cladding to achieve the desired look. To enable safe roof maintenance, a modified E-50T Hatch was supplied and installed to the 46 degree sloping roof enabling maintenance staff to gain easy, safe access to roof equipment

Bilco UK supplies bespoke NSHEV for multi-storey hospital car park

The massive development of the Addenbrookes Hospital site in Cambridge has seen the construction of several new buildings over the last few years. The most recent part of the project saw Bilco UK supply special size Smoke Vents for the new nine-storey car park at the hospital. This project, undertaken by Vinci Construction, has created 1,228 new parking spaces to meet growing demand at the renowned medical facility as it expands to accommodate the relocation of Papworth Hospital.

From medieval priest doors to a modern means of access…

Bilco UK has supplied an innovative replacement roof hatch for a medieval church in Norfolk. St Mary’s is one of the 653 churches within the Diocese of Norwich. When it came to providing a means of safe access to the roof area a product was required that was both technically and architecturally suitable. Medieval Masonry Ltd, a specialist contractor in the restoration and conservation of historic buildings with over 50 years of experience in the industry, installed Bilco UK’s S-50VMTB VersaMount® Replacement Roof Hatch.

Safe Access for the new Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic World

Bilco UK supplied 21 special size Ladder Access Roof Hatches to the British Museum’s newest gallery, the Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic World. Ladder access was required to the roof void area to allow for routine maintenance activities. Bilco UK’s SS-50TB Ladder Access Roof Hatches were specified by the architects, HoK. The installation was managed by the Principle Contractor, Coniston Limited

Top marks for Bilco Smoke Vents at University of Hertfordshire

Ninety UDF-50 REM Bilco Natural Smoke and Heat Ventilators (NSHEVs) were installed in a large scale accommodation development at the University of Hertfordshire. The development at the College Lane Campus comprises a mixture of individual bedrooms, twin rooms and studios. All of Bilco’s NSHEV products are manufactured to the highest possible standards, are CE Marked and meet Construction Products Regulation 305/2011.
