The headquarters of today's Swisspearl Group are located in Niederurnen (Switzerland), where one of the first production facilities for fiber cement was founded in 1903. However, the success story of our fiber cement began as early as 1894 in Vöcklabruck, Austria. There, where it was invented by Ludwig Hatschek.

Today we are proud of our leading position in the innovation and technology of this material, which is used worldwide for the design of architecture and living spaces, exterior and interior.

Fibre cement is an extremely versatile material that can be used in a variety of ways. Perfectly matching raw materials and ongoing innovation are at the heart of the success of a product that is over 100 years old and has never gone out of style. Without it, architecture is inconceivable.

Our fibre cement consists of cement, cellulose, water, recyclable synthetic fibres and air. The combination of these ingredients results in an light and durable building material compared to other building materials. When touched, you can feel its homogeneous materiality and surface quality. Visually it has a unique character and, depending on the processing technology, individual texture.

Application

There are many different uses for fibre cement, but it is most prominently used for building envelope cladding, roof and facade. It is a popular material for all types of buildings, from apartment complexes, private homes, public buildings to warehouses and industrial complexes.
