Suitable for a wide range of developments, eaves beams are designed to support the eaves of the roof that overhang the wall. May also be used as a top sheeting rail for external cladding and gutter support.
Voestalpine Metsec Eaves Beams are lightweight beams manufactured from pre-hot dipped galvanized steel with a Z275 coating and a minimum yield strength of 450 N/mm². They reduce the horizontal span of the roof cladding, transfer wind loads to the roof diaphragm and prevent twisting due to eaves gutters.
Available in a wide range of sizes up to a span of 15 metres and a depth of 170–330 mm, they come with a range of compatible accessories to aid in restraint and connections.
The product reference of an Eaves Beam 170 mm deep and 2.0 mm thick = 170 E 20. The first three digits of the reference indicate the depth of the section in millimetres (i.e. 170 equals 170 mm deep). The fourth digit is a letter that signifies the profile type (i.e. E for Eaves Beam). The last two digits indicate the material thickness (i.e. 20 equals 2.0 mm).
