Description

Thermowood D is a heat-modified softwood cladding option, offering a rich, natural tone and enhanced stability for exposed exterior applications. Produced by treating softwood in high-temperature chamber kilns, the process changes the cellular structure, making Thermowood more dimensionally stable than untreated timber in variable climates.

The heat treatment uses only heat, vapour, and steam—no harmful chemicals—ensuring an environmentally responsible product. Thermowood can be left untreated to weather to a silver-grey finish or finished with stains, paints, or fire-retardant treatments for added protection.

Features and benefits:

  • Premium Appearance: Dark, natural tone for stylish exterior timber cladding.
  • Natural Durability: Classified as Durability Class 2, Thermowood D timber cladding provides excellent resistance to decay, moisture, and fungi, making it ideal for long-lasting outdoor applications.
  • Eco-Friendly Process: Produced without chemicals, using heat and steam only.
  • Versatile Finish: Accepts stains, paints, and FR treatments; can be left to weather naturally.
  • Sustainable Choice: PEFC-certified timber from responsibly managed forests.
