Description

Site assembled walling system with internal and external profiles.

The Trisobuild® systems can be tailored to meet project requirements including fire resistance and acoustic performance. The system comprises of a Colorcoat® pre-finished steel trapezoidal liner profile, an Instaloc® Plus spacer system, an insulation layer and a Colorcoat® pre-finished steel external weathering profile.

The Trisobuild® VW System is a vertically run wall system which can provide an efficient external cladding system. The system provides the designer with an infinite number of combinations to create a unique aesthetic.

The capability of the systems can also allow the designer to specify the correct performance for the building and elevation. With tested components, the system provides a range of thermal, acoustic and fire resistance performance levels. The wall system can achieve up to four hours fire integrity and one hour fire insulation.

Features and benefits:

  • Certified 'very good' to Building Research Establishment (BRE)'s responsible sourcing standard BES 6001.
  • Available with Platinum® Plus - a system guarantee of 25-years, that covers the durability, structural and thermal performance of all system components. The guarantee is derived from a tailored specification to suit your building function and is fully transferable on change of ownership of the building.
  • Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) LPS 1181-1 approved 460a 14, 15, 19, 23 and 31.
  • The insulation within the system has both zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and low global warming potential (GWP). Both these factors support the achievement of a high Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating.
  • Trisobuild® wall systems have been third party tested and assessed using EN 1364-1 or BS 476–22 ‘Fire resistance of non-load bearing elements’.
  • All steel elements are recyclable, without any loss of quality. The insulation can be separated easily and if kept ‘clean’ can be recycled. A product specific environmental product declaration (EPD) is available for all Trisobuild® systems.

Trisobuild® FW (fire wall) range system build-up:

  • Building Systems UK maintains a comprehensive library of test evidence in accordance with BS 476 Part 22 and BS EN 1364-1. The Trisobuild® FW system offers a wide range of design options, with fire resistance classifications spanning EI15 to EI60.
  • For the FW15V system, a 140 mm cavity is used with a 160 mm Knauf FactoryClad 40 insulation quilt. The FW30V system can be achieved using the same build-up, but is limited to a Prisma external finish and a maximum 1525 mm span. The FW60V system requires a 260 mm cavity with a 260 mm Rockwool quilt at a nominal density of 24 kg/m³.
  • We recommend consulting our technical department to discuss the specific requirements of your building and specification needs.

Supporting structures in fire:

  • To ensure a robust and continuous load path under fire conditions, enabling the fire-resistant cladding to remain securely supported. The cladding system is to be suspended from a protected structural element, referred to as a ‘capable member’, which has been designed to perform during fire exposure.
  • Building Systems UK’s Technical Team has collaborated with the BCSA, MCRMA, secondary steelwork suppliers, fastener manufacturers, and accredited third-party test facilities to develop validated engineering methodologies for the integration of capable members within our approved fire wall cladding systems and robust connection to these members.
  • To ensure compliance with design and performance recommendations, early engagement with the Building Systems UK Technical Team is required to establish design intent and confirm interface details, which are additional to this specification

Reaction to fire:

  • Trisobuild® systems can achieve a reaction to fire classification in accordance with BS EN 13501-1 when finished with Colorcoat PE15 internally and Colorcoat Prisma externally, both rated A1. Please note that using alternative finishes may result in a different fire classification, so consult the Building Systems UK Technical Helpdesk for guidance.

Thermal performance:

  • All quoted system U-values and construction ‘psi’ and f values have been computer modelled in accordance with EN ISO 10211 as stated in the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA) Technical Note 14 by trained and experienced technical engineers.

U-Values are based on secondary steelwork support at 1.8 m centres, 1.2 m bracket spacing and insulation with a 0.040 W/mK thermal conductivity.
