Summary
Range of mansard ventilators for slate and tile roofing is used to introduce ventilation into a flat roof where it falls out onto a pitched roof.
-
-
Application
  • Suitable for use at the junction of a slated roof with metal, membrane or liquid roof coverings.
  • E Version: For increased resistance to both wind uplift in exposed locations and corrosion in coastal locations, the ventilator can be supplied in 1.0 mm-thick, 316 grade stainless steel. Where extreme weather conditions are likely, consideration should be given to providing more weathering cover to upstands and slating or tiling to improve the integrity of the detail.
  • FR Version: To reduce spread of fire through ventilation apertures, the ventilator can be supplied with an intumescent seal.

Note: Standard AIRTRAK® details assume moderate weather conditions. Small amounts of moisture may be admitted under heavy storm conditions. Where more severe weather conditions are likely, consideration should be given to increasing the vertical overlap dimension to upstands and to slating or tiling to improve the integrity of the weathering detail. For slate and tile details the manufacturer also recommends the use of the AIRTRAK® LPS where appropriate. Contact manufacturer for further technical help.

Description

Range of mansard ventilators for slate and tile roofing is used to introduce ventilation at the point where the flat roof falls out onto a pitched roof. This is predominately used to ventilate the flat roof area but can also be used to provide ventilation to the head of the slate or tile roof at the same time.

Features and benefits:

  • The stainless steel profile is covered by the flat roofing material or flashing.
  • Combined with a AIRTRAK® LPS low pitch soaker to maintain the integrity of the detail as the pitch reduces, selection guide below.
  • Can be combined with AIRTRAK® CF ClipFast clips where it is possible that the flashing might slip off the ventilator over time and the welt disengage from the lower edge.
  • Supplied pre-bent to a specified angle.
