Description
Hinged drop down loft door, designed to provide easy access through the ceiling into a loft space and to provide thermal insulation and improved airtightness between ceiling and loft space.
Features and benefits:
Loftite arrives pre-assembled ready to be fitted and consists of a frame with an insulated door mounted via four stainless steel hinge pins.
Two separate air seals are provided in the frame to maximize airtightness at the door to frame and frame to ceiling interfaces.
Two door catches to provide a secure and reliable fit.
The moulded EPS insulation layer is optimized for maximum thermal performance across the entire door with three different U-value options.
The frame includes fitting slots for an easy, single person installation process (patent pending).
Hinge caps are provided to create a neat secure finish.
Improves the thermal performance of the ceiling opening.
Maintenance free operation and no need for painting after installation.
Maximized open access area to allow easy and unobstructed entry to the loft space.
Sized to fit between 600 mm centre spaced ceiling joists (38 mm joist timber thickness).
Suitable for use with loft access ladders.
Key lock option also available for enhanced security.
Performance:
As standard the 0.35 W/m²K U-value insulation option helps to meet the requirements of the Robust Construction Detail.
The 0.25 and 0.15 W/m²K options help to achieve the higher performance levels required by the Code for Sustainable Homes and the Future Homes Standard.
Meets and exceeds the requirements of The Building Regulations Approved Document L1 & L2 for airtightness.
Independently performance tested by BRE for airtightness to BS EN 13141-1 2019 and BS 5250 2021.
Helps to reduce acoustic noise transmission between the ceiling and loft space.
Quality:
Manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO 14001.
Complies with:
Building Regulations Approved Document L1 & L2.
BS 5250 Control of Condensation in Buildings.
BS 9250 Design of the airtightness of ceilings in pitched roofs.
NHBC Technical Requirements.
Contains no CFCs, HCFCs or other ozone-depleting substances.
