Wellingborough

OVERVIEW

A  £253m contract by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for a newly built resettlement prison in Wellingborough. The project was the first in a series of schemes to be undertaken as part of the MoJ's wider Change, Strategy and Planning Directorate within HMPPS.

The aim of the project was to reform and modernise the prison estate making it more efficient, safer and focused on supporting rehabilitation. Working closely with the design team of Kier's and our approved contractor Deane Roofing and Cladding it was clear that the mission to build thirteen buildings and 1,680 prison cells in just 45 weeks meant that programming and speed of installation was key to the success of this project.
