Traditional farmhouse feel created with Cedral facade materials

A recommendation from a plastering firm led Abi and her husband to Cedral facades – “and when we saw it, we said we just have to use that”.

The plasterers were working on the renovation of the couple’s 1980’s farmhouse, a property that needed a complete rehaul, as Abi explains.

“It had nothing done to it since the 1980s so when we bought, we completely gutted it, knocking down walls and bricking up windows. Because of that we ended up with some blank spaces and, as the house is surrounded by woodland, we didn’t want to render the whole building, which might have discoloured from the trees over time.”

The plasterers had used Cedral facades on previous projects, and it turned out to be the perfect solution. “We used it across parts of the house to add character and hide untidy brickwork,” says Abi.

Opting for Cedral Click in C18 Slate Grey, it works perfectly with the existing brickwork and new render in complementary shades. “Cedral gave us that traditional farmhouse feel, that country look, we wanted.”

The house sits in three acres in the Norfolk countryside surrounded by stunning gardens, which Abi regularly showcases to her 49,000 followers on Instagram.

“I started my account on Instagram to document our garden journey but then I had quite a few people ask ‘What cladding have you got’, so I link to Cedral in posts now. And I only link to people I strongly recommend.”

The couple are very happy with the finished look and delighted with the fact it’s low maintenance too – “this is a brilliant advantage,” says Abi. “Using Cedral has 100% turned out how we wanted it.”"
