OVERVIEW
The Old War Office is a former office building with 1,100 rooms, used by Winston Churchill as a headquarters during World War II. A refurbishment of this office was completed, this 16,000m² development has created a 5-star hotel, 85 apartments and various leisure facilities. Works included developing a six-story basement and construction of a three-story roof extension.
Cellecta RUBBERfon impact 6 was specified by EPR Architects in this project due to its effective barrier to impact sound transmission. It is available in various thicknesses ranging from 3mm-8mm and is made from high compressive strength and 100% recycled rubber.
Ardmore Group were awarded the contract to restore and convert the iconic Old War Office site in Whitehall.
