OVERVIEW
Nottingham College has recently completed the development of a new City Hub campus, in the heart of the city centre. The new £58.5m state-of-the-art hub provides fantastic new learning and community facilities to thousands of students.
Background
The City Hub stands as a beacon of excellence in student services across Nottingham.
With an impressive six-storey structure, it teems with diverse facilities, from a performing arts centre to a science and early years provision. On top of this, the campus holds a 200-seat theatre, training restaurant, and social spaces. giving students a truly enriching experience while studying with them.
Challenge
Due to the high number of students and staff entering and exiting the City Hub on a daily basis, the client was faced
with the challenge of finding a suitable solution to safely manage this.
With limited space, it was crucial that a solution was found that would cater to the restricted area while maintaining the expected high-throughput.
Solution
Meesons met with the main contractor for Nottingham City Hub to gain a greater understanding of the requirements and review the available space. Following this, seven banks of EasyGate SG Speed Gates was proposed for the campus and chosen as the suitable solution.
