OVERVIEW
Schools often require materials that balance durability with natural aesthetics, creating welcoming environments for students and staff.
For Oakley Grove School, that material was Homegrown Larch, chosen for its strength and distinctive grain, bringing warmth and character to the building’s exterior. The timber was sourced sustainably within the UK, supporting local forestry and reducing environmental impact.
Larch is naturally durable, making it an excellent choice for external applications without the need for chemical treatment. Over time, it will weather to a beautiful silver-grey, complementing the surrounding landscape and maintaining a timeless appeal.
All boards were carefully machined and prepared to specification before delivery, ensuring ease of installation and a consistent finish across the project. The use of homegrown timber not only enhances the building’s sustainability credentials but also celebrates British woodland resources.
