Heritage Cricket pavilion Restored with Alu-clad Glazing

OVERVIEW

The Newbery Steps project represents a meticulous effort to restore and reimagine the Newbery Steps cricket pavilion, located in the picturesque Dean Park, Bournemouth.

This building, dating back to the early 1900s and previously in a state of disrepair, has been meticulously restored and repurposed, transforming it into a vibrant community space.

Vision & values

Conceived by award-winning practice Footprint Architects, the design reflects the Newbery Steps' heritage while incorporating contemporary elements to improve structural and environmental performance.

At Norrsken, we're passionate about crafting windows and doors that not only enhance the beauty of a building but also contribute to its long-term sustainability and energy efficiency. The Newbery Steps cricket pavilion project perfectly embodies this philosophy, seamlessly integrating engineered timber windows and doors with both historic and contemporary design.

Sustainability

A well-insulated thermal envelope, use of matching historic materials, and updated environmental standards will result in a building with low energy usage and increased durability. Successfully re-used old floor boards for external cladding, and sarking boards internally to reduce the amount of virgin materials on site.
