Greenwich Design District - Where Innovation Meets Architecture

OVERVIEW

Greenwich Design District - Where Innovation Meets Architecture

Excited to share this remarkable project that made TIME Magazine's "Most Wonderful Places of 2021" list! The Greenwich Design District (GDD) in North Greenwich, adjacent to the iconic O2 Arena, showcases the perfect fusion of design innovation and sustainable building solutions. ♻️

Design District spans a pedestrianised site of over 150k sq ft, including 14 architecturally unique buildings and London's only rooftop basketball court.

Located in North Greenwich, moments away from the O2 Arena and Thames riverside, shooting at Design District offers unparalleled views of London’s iconic skyline.

📍 Key Project Highlights:

• 14 unique blocks designed by 8 different architectural groups

• 36,200 sqm of creative space

• Cutting-edge facade solutions including:

- 7,605 sqm of Curtain Wall & Aluminium Joinery

- 2,295 sqm of Anodised ALPOLIC™ Europe Aluminium panels

- 8,040 sqm of Decorative Panel Systems

At PCS Ltd., we're particularly impressed by Block A1, use of ALPOLIC™ Europe which has the perception of an invisible building by using mirror effect composite sheets, was designed by Barozzi Veiga Architects. "The polished aluminium facades of Barozzi Veiga’s two buildings reflect the sun in a way that changes throughout the day and appears different in each season. All year round, they light up the surrounding courtyards and alleys. Both buildings have been designed with photographers, artists and sculptors in mind. They have large windows, external staircases and high ceilings."

The mirror effect was achieved by our partnership with Coil Aloxide. Using their X-Bond Brite Natural 8 Microns (or the ReAL Anodized Reflective Natural by Alpolic) 0.5mm skins on our Alpolic A1 non-combustible panels.

Looking to create your next innovative facade? Let's discuss how our ALPOLIC NC/A1 panels and expert solutions can bring your vision to life.
