Endeavour House, Stansted

OVERVIEW

The final project of a series of buildings commissioned by airports developer BAA Lynton and reviewed under the Egan initiative, Endeavour house is a replica of the First Point building at Gatwick airport and of the World Business Centre at Heathrow. BAA Lynton were able to save 15% costs and 25% on construction time compared with the construction of the initial building WBC, and, as planning was based on building volume, by adopting underfloor air conditioning at First Point and Endeavour house, the slab to slab height saving permitted the creation of an additional floor in the subsequent two buildings.
