OVERVIEW
Designed to resemble a picture frame, the structure in the Za’abeel area of Dubai offers uninterrupted views of Old Dubai and New Dubai. From the top, viewers enjoy clear views of Dubai’s unique skyline, including Burj Khalifa on one side. Dubai’s more humble older buildings offer a stark contrast on the other side.
We had the opportunity to work on this prestigious project by supplying the glass for the Frame’s unique façade. When viewed from the outside, the structure has gold and chrome detailing, similar to a picture frame. From the inside, however, it offers clear views.
We had to ensure the panels allowed sufficient light transmission while filtering heat and minimising glare so visitors have a comfortable experience. The sheer size of the structure meant we had to deliver large quantities without compromising on quality. We checked every panel at our state-of-the-art processing facility to ensure no on-site rejections. Our hard work has helped create a unique structure that welcomed 1 million visitors within the first year.
