Carlton High Security Cycle Shelter, Conington Road

OVERVIEW

Split across two blocks on either side of the Ravenborune River, the 322 apartment build-to-rent development on Conington Road includes a striking 35-story tower that will be a notable addition to the skyline.

Christened as 'Ravensbourne Place', the development is an important part of the regeneration in the Lewisham area. Looming over Lewisham Station - the development will give residents access to DLR and rail services on their doorstep.

Experienced and expert contractor Watkin Jones approached us at The Bike Storage Company to develop plans for secure bike storage for the development's residents.

Our Carlton High-Security Cycle Shelter was chosen as the ideal solution for the block on the northern side of the river, on the site of an old Tesco overflow carpark.

Constructed with heavy-duty steel sections and RSJ perimeter bars, this shelter utilises robust 358 Mesh Panels to create a highly secure area. The Carlton High-Security Shelter has the added benefit of Secured by Design compliance, with access control and internal PIR lighting provision—ensuring that bikes are always safe and secure.

Our chosen shelter's interior is designed to efficiently house 76 cycles in our Two-Tier Rack system. It features individual upper channels and galvanised steel Sheffield Stands on the lower tier, ensuring the residents' maximum space use and convenience.

The Bike Storage Company has fully embraced the challenge of this project, demonstrating our commitment to providing a modern and secure cycle storage solution for Lewisham's newest tenants.
