OVERVIEW
Light and a connection to the expansive plateau moorlands of Ayrshire is delivered with a skilled lightness of touch at Cuddymoss, the 'building within a ruin'.
Designed by Ann Nisbet Studio the RIBA and RIAS award-winning dwelling has been crafter within the exisitng structure using a fabric fist approach to produce a well-insulated building.
Utilising a combination of both the Conservation Rooflight and Neo Rooflight from our pitched roof collection, the concept for this beautiful property was delivered by merging the heritage of the existing structure with contemporary living.
The Original Conservation Rooflights sit flush into the roof, with the signature fine lines of the steel framework honouring the heritage of the building and its rural narrative. Meanwhile, the Neo Rooflights, with their flush edge-to-edge glazing in the new building, echo the look and feel of a sheet of glass.
Internally, all five specified rooflights allow the property to capitalise on the natural light from the spectacular surroundings, welcoming directional light into the bright white interiors.
Cuddymoss was awarded the 2023 Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
