OVERVIEW
The healthcare facility at Hollandsch Diep in Capelle aan den IJssel, part of a larger newly built residential and care development completed in 2022 for ASVZ, features a contemporary exterior where Trespa Pura® panels are applied as a key component of the building’s façade, bringing both visual and performance benefits to the design. In this project the panels are used in a vertical, staggered arrangement across three storeys, combining multiple finishes such as French Walnut, Milano Sabbia and Romantic Walnut to create a warm, varied surface that integrates well with its surroundings while giving the healthcare building a modern yet approachable character. The Pura® high-pressure laminate cladding performs robustly in a range of weather conditions typical of the Dutch climate — resisting rain, wind, and UV exposure while maintaining its colour and finish over time — and the ventilated rainscreen installation helps promote moisture control and thermal regulation behind the cladding, which supports long-term building envelope health. Their engineered surface also minimizes dirt accumulation and simplifies maintenance, making them a practical solution for a facility that must balance aesthetic quality with durability and ease of upkeep, and the mix of wood-effect and neutral tones reinforces a visually accessible, human-centred architectural expression for both residents and passersby.
