The Cowshed

OVERVIEW

A sensitive transformation of a 17th century Grade II listed barn in The Cotswolds, The Cowshed balances historic character with contemporary living.

Architects Design Storey, supported by Matford Construction and engineers Mann Williams, worked within the specific conservation guidelines to bring light into the under-lit spaces.

To achieve this, they engaged with The Rooflight Co, ensuring The Conservation Rooflights were specified as the finer details balanced with optimum product performance suited the heritage context.

Slim-framed and flush-set, the rooflights discreetly introduce daylight and ventilation into the interiors.

The result is an elegant, timeless home, achieving recognition with the British Homes Award 2024 and a RIBA Southwest & Sussex Conservation Award 2025.
