RAF Mount Pleasant

OVERVIEW

The Challenge

RAF Mount Pleasant, one of the most remote military bases in the world, required the refurbishment of three ablution blocks. The project faced significant hurdles, including extreme remoteness, complex long-distance logistics, and a harsh South Atlantic climate. Materials had to be exceptionally robust, and close collaboration with the Architect (Peter Smith Associates) was essential to ensure suitability for a demanding military environment.

The Solution

Working alongside the design team, Dunhams delivered a durable, dependable washroom solution engineered for high-use, high-humidity conditions. For Blocks M, N, and P, we supplied:

  • 63 shower door sets
  • 63 full-height cubicles
  • 63 IPS duct panel sets
  • 42 vanity units

Every component was designed for long-term reliability, ensuring performance in one of the toughest locations imaginable.

The Outcome

The project was completed successfully, providing resilient washroom facilities that now support personnel stationed 8,000 miles from home. This achievement demonstrates the trust placed in Dunhams to deliver high-performance washrooms for challenging environments, proving that UK-led expertise can reach even the most extraordinary locations.
