HALFEN HCC Column Shoes

HALFEN Column shoes are used to create rigid column connections in high-stress building components. The rigid connection is equally functional during and after final installation.

The occurring loads are transferred through the HALFEN HAB H Anchor bolts (headed bolts) or the HAB S (rod anchor) into the foundation base. The large range of product types covering a wide load range enable most installation situations to be realized.

The benefits of using the bolt connection with precast system is the quick erection. The connection is easy to adjust and can be subjected to load immediately and therefore requires no bracing. The system consists of the HCC Column shoe and the corresponding HAB Anchor bolt for connecting to the foundation.

The principle: The column shoes are cast into the precast columns during production; the anchor bolts are cast into the foundation on site using a template. On erection and after aligning the column a fully-loadable connection is achieved using hex-nuts. Finally, the column base and remaining recesses are filled with low-shrinkage grout.

HALFEN HAB H Anchor bolts:

• Made of B500B reinforcement steel with a rolled thread. A forged head on one end (head stud anchor) is used as the anchorage. Due to their low installation height, HAB H Anchor bolts are particularly suitable as anchorage in components with minimal thickness; i.e. in foundations or walls with enough edge spacing.

HALFEN HAB S rod anchors:

• More suitable for thicker components which have adequate anchorage depth. In this case the edge distances can be reduced.
