DoorCall Door Alarm - Door Alarm Management System

1. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:

A. General:

DoorCall is a fully monitored, battery-backed door alarm management system designed for life safety, security and compliance applications. The system provides local and/or centralised monitoring of emergency exit doors, fire doors, security doors and protected cabinets.

System shall form part of the Vox Ignis AssistCallPro platform where networked functionality is required.

2. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION:

A. System Types:

1. Single zone standalone system.
2. Networked system (1–64 zones) via AssistCallPro platform.

B. Networked Capability (where specified):

• Distributed touchscreen display modules.
• Global or local alarm management.
• Programmable relay outputs.
• Integration with BMS, access control, fire alarm and third-party systems.
• Fault-tolerant monitored network.

3. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A. Alarm Operation:

• Local audible and visual alarm upon unauthorised door opening.
• Configurable alarm tones.
• Latching or non-latching operation selectable.
• Configurable LED colour indication.

B. Isolation and Control:

• Key-operated local isolation.
• 10-second programmable delay prior to isolation.
• Key trapped when door isolated.
• Local reset functionality.

C. Monitoring:

• Continuous monitoring for open circuit and short circuit faults.
• Power supply monitoring.
• Fault reporting at controller and/or network display.

4. TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE:

A. Power Supply:

• 12 Vdc nominal.
• Supplied via AssistCallPro Controller.
• Battery-backed PSU (where specified).

B. Audible Indication:

• Integral buzzer.
• 80 dB output measured at 10 cm.

C. Cabling:

• Up to 500 m using 1 mm² CSA T&E or flexible cable.
• Up to 100 m using two twisted pairs of Cat5/6 cable.

D. Environmental / Build:

• Low-profile device.
• Surface mount (single gang).
• White or stainless steel finish options.

5. SYSTEM INTEGRATION (WHERE NETWORKED):

Provide programmable relay modules enabling:

• Alarm forwarding to BMS.
• Interface to access control systems.
• Interface to fire alarm systems.
• Interface to security systems.
• Remote alarm annunciation.

Relay modules shall be network addressable and programmable to operate from any system input.

6. COMPLIANCE:

• Monitored life safety system infrastructure.
• Battery backup provision.
• When forming part of AssistCallPro accessibility systems, compliant with BS 8300-2:2018 (where applicable).
