OVERVIEW
As part of integrating the East London Line into the London Overground network, the existing route was extended and modernized to serve as a major transport corridor. Because the line passes through tunnels, viaducts, bridges, and tight curves—and runs close to many buildings—the project required a track system that could deliver reliable vibration protection across varying structural conditions.
Getzner supplied a combination of Low Vibration Track (LVT) systems with Sylodyn® elastic insertion pads and lightweight mass‑spring systems using Sylomer® mats. This adaptable approach enabled uniform track elasticity, effective vibration decoupling, and reduced noise transmission, while simplifying construction and ensuring long‑term performance along the entire route.
