Design

• Gold vertical fins cover all elevations of the new trauma hospital
• Gold posts allow the fin façade to be offset from the building’s main entrance
• Similar fins feature on the facility’s new helipad, following its shape and profile to maintain design consistency

Manufacture

• All fins anodised in Regency Gold to provide a rich metallic finish
• 3D technology and design implemented from beginning to end, with close collaboration with BAM Construct UK
• 3D visualisation enabled the development of a fixing system for fins that sit away from the building

Installation

• Maple repurposed its Pluto rail system to enable the fins to sit away from the hospital entrance
• Horizontal carrier arms fixed to vertical posts to support the offset vertical fins
