Ancon Thermal Breaks

Masonry support systems from Leviat can now be supplied with Thermal Breaks to minimise heat loss through cold bridging and improve the energy efficiency of the building envelope.
Ancon Thermal Breaks are manufactured from a durable fibre-reinforced thermoset plastic which combines low thermal conductivity with high compressive strength. They are shaped like a standard Ancon key-hole shim in order to locate quickly and easily, between bracket and structural frame, as a support system is installed.

Ancon Low Thermal Conductivity Wall Ties

The Ancon range of low thermal conductivity wall ties minimise heat loss through thermal bridging, improving the energy efficiency of a masonry cavity wall. The use of these ties can reduce insulation depth and wall footprint.
In addition to a number of stainless steel wire wall ties, the range includes the Ancon Teplo range which is manufactured from pultruded basalt fibres set in resin. This BBA-approved product is available exclusively from Leviat. It has a thermal conductivity of just 0.7W/mK, making it the most thermally efficient wall tie on the market.
Ancon 25/14 Restraint System

The Ancon 25/14 Restraint System ties an outer leaf of brickwork to a light steel frame.
Self-drilling, high-thread screws fix through the channel and rigid insulation board and into the steel. Stainless steel SD25 or basalt fibre Teplo-BF-CT 25 wall ties are located in the channel and built into the bed joints of the outer leaf of brickwork.
This system has been independently tested by Lucideon and is UKCA and CE marked. A Declaration of Performance is available to download from www.ancon.co.uk/approvals.

Reinforcing Large Format Stack-Bonded Masonry - Ancon AMR Masonry Reinforcement

Where large format masonry units are stacked one above the other, the lack of bonding between them will greatly reduce the overall flexural strength of the panel and the ability of the wall to spread vertical loads.

Ancon KSN Anchor Reinforcement Continuity Systems

The KSN system comprises of internally-threaded anchors which are cast into the wall and, during construction of the adjoining slab, accept continuation bars prepared with a Bartec parallel-thread. This is fastest and safest system.
There is no on site bar straightening and virtually no restriction on bar length, so EC2 lap lengths are easily accommodated. A standard timber carrier allows multiple anchors to be installed simultaneously. Unlike re-bend systems where bar length, spacing and diameter are restricted by physical box dimensions, KSN Anchors provide total design flexibility.

Non-Drill Fixings

Ancon’s range of ‘NON-DRILL’ masonry-to-steel fixing solutions was developed to address the safety concerns of the Industry.
Driven by customer demand for masonry restraint fixings with an alternate installation method from either shot-firing or drilling, Ancon engineered the six innovative solutions detailed in this brochure.
These new fixings do not require the use of
power tools and can reduce installation times and costs. In all instances they simply abut the column or attach to the flange to restrain the wall against lateral
wind loads.
SSTS/STS Thermally Insulated Balcony Connectors

Ancon STS (galvanised steel) and SSTS (stainless steel) are compact thermal breaks, typically used for connecting steel balconies to structural steel frames. They are also equally suitable for other steel-to-steel applications.
E-HLD Shear Load Connectors

The Ancon E-HLD joins new concrete slabs to existing concrete walls. It is designed to transfer shear load where new slabs are connected to diaphragm walls or secant pile walls in basement construction.
SSTC/STC Thermally Insulated Balcony Connectors
Leviat
Ancon STC and SSTC steel-to-concrete balcony connectors are used to anchor steel balconies to concrete floor slabs and have been proven through thermal modelling to reduce heat loss when compared to direct connections.
The two-part assembly, comprising a cast-in anchorage and a post-fixed bracket with thermal pad located at the interface, allows for phased construction. Unlike one-piece systems which must be left exposed on-site for some time, the Ancon bracket component is not fixed until required, reducing the risk of damage.

Shearfix Punching Shear Reinforcement

Used within a slab to provide additional reinforcement around columns, Ancon Shearfix is the ideal solution to the design and construction problems associated with punching shear. The system consists of double-headed studs welded to flat rails, positioned around the column head or base.
Corner Guards

Corner Guards offer protection to exposed edges of columns and walls in areas of high traffic such as car parks, warehouses, hospitals etc.
Ancon manufactures corner guards in a standard length of 1250mm in either stainless steel, galvanised steel or untreated mild steel.
Gauge Tape

Ancon Gauge Tape provides a visual reference that aids accurate coursing and improves the quality of the external finish. Use of the tape can also accelerate the speed of construction. It allows frame cramps to be fixed at accurate vertical centres for the full height of an elevation in advance of the masonry being built.
Refractory Fixings for the Heat Treatment Industry

Lockable Dowels for Temporary Movement Joints

Lockable Dowels have been designed by Ancon for use at temporary movement joints, most commonly found in post-tensioned concrete frames.
These dowels allow initial shrinkage of the concrete to take place and are then locked in position with a mechanical plate and a controlled amount of epoxy resin. The locked dowels continue to transfer shear, but prevent further movement taking place.
Isotec Thermally Insulated Balcony Connectors

Ancon Isotec is a high performance thermal break system for concrete-concrete balcony applications, comprising 100% stainless steel reinforcement and fire-resistant mineral wool insulation.
