Jubilee wharf is a recently completed mixed-use development in the heart of Penryn (Cornwall). The building themselves are a low energy sustainable design - super insulated and carbon neutral in operation.

Bruyn’s Court is an architecturally innovative scheme comprising 25 apartments for over-55s wishing to downsize to a property which can also adapt to changing physical needs. The development, which features VELFAC glazing and doors throughout, was described by RIBA as ‘a positive landmark with the potential to kick-start a new era for the locale’, and won a RIBA National Award in 2016.

The redevelopment of Atkinson Morley, a former hospital in Wimbledon in the London Borough of Merton. The site is located within the Copse Hill Conservation Area and includes the locally listed hospital building set among mature trees. The hospital was opened in 1869 as a convalescent hospital and it retained this use until WWII, when it became an internationally recognized neuroscience center. After it was closed in 2003, the building remained vacant until the site was acquired by Berkeley Homes in 2010.

Eurocell’s involvement in a large scale student accommodation construction project helped to add value through the specification of a high quality, striking and versatile PVC-U window solution.

HAG was proud to work with The National Trust to secure ‘Hafod Eyri’, the amazing £8.4m visitor centre atop Snowdon - the highest peak in England and Wales. HAG’s bespoke security products were designed not just to protect against intrusion, but also from extreme elements – wind speeds up to 150mph and temperatures as low as -20oC. A particular difficulty to overcome was securing the iconic ‘Window on the World’ offering views of England, Ireland, Scotland and Isle of Man. However, our design and manufacture expertise enabled us to supply adapted Armourguard products to fit the brief even at 3500ft!

London based Granit Architects, chose Clement Windows to manufacture and install this fabulous two storey steel screen for this residential project in Clapham. Clement’s EB24 steel window system was specified for its slim, strong sections, allowing maximum light gain. The screen which included a multi point locking single door on the ground floor is polyester powder coated in RAL 9005 matt black and finished with a dark bronze effect handle.

Upgrading the timber sash and case windows with double glazing at the stunning boutique hotel, Knockinaam Lodge, in PortpatrickKey features: Commercial, Hospitality & Leisure, Sash Windows, Sash & Case, Double Glazing, Renovation Built in 1869, Knockinaam Lodge is the only luxury boutique hotel in Portpatrick, Dumfries and Galloway – tucked into the south west corner of Scotland against a backdrop of the dramatic Irish Sea. As part of a restoration project, the owner, David Ibbotson, was looking for a sash window double glazing expert he could trust to upgrade a number of the timber sash windows in this stunning property.The historic 19th century hunting lodge has a wealth of original features, so it was vital to retain the beautiful windows. But they weren’t in a good state of repair, leaving guest and reception rooms draughty and hard to heat. Following bad experiences with other window companies who had let Mr Ibbotson down, he was lucky enough to come across Ventrolla Scotland when one of the Ventrolla team were staying with them as a guest.  Hayley Little, from Ventrolla Scotland explains, “I’ve been working closely with David at Knockinaam Lodge since my original survey visit back in January 2020. The hotel overlooks the sea near Portpatrick and is very exposed to the elements. As well as repairs, we’ve been responsible for installing conservation-approved double-glazed sashes, alongside our draught-proofing system.Working around the hotel’s busy times was of paramount importance with this project – so we arranged to complete our work when they were closed for other refurbishments, or when they were unable to welcome guests due to Covid restrictions. To date, we’ve completed three phases of works. In July 2020, we worked on the striking Morning Room three-part bay window, then in November 2020 we repaired the sash window in the South Room and, following this, in November 2021 we returned to work on the Batchelor Room and the three-part bay window in the restaurant. Phase four is planned in for March 2022.”  Mr Ibbotson commented, “The work has made a huge difference, not only to the finish of our hotel, but more importantly to the comfort our guests enjoy. The intricate facade on Garden Halls was inspired by the existing large-scale Victorian and Edwardian buildings that populate Bloomsbury, such as the Russell Square Hotel and Victoria House. The windows employ a very thin profile section, achieved with Reynaers CS 38-SL systems, and have a decorated, perforated aluminium screen to the side. This uses an insulated panel that can be opened from the inside for ventilation. The lower level screens are bronze-coloured anodised aluminium, while the upper screens are powder coated.

This luxury home was designed to have fully concealed blinds in every window. The owners were enthusiastic to design a home that was the best to the last detail. Blinds and curtains are controlled using Lutron® and were installed using the Blindspace® concealment products. Bespoke electric curtains were included to provide softness and the fully concealed blinds were used to control the light and privacy. Through careful planning from the outset of the project, the inclusion of concealed blinds has achieved the best end result. Dark-coloured fabrics have been used where maximum visibility was desired but softer white-toned used in bath and dressing rooms. Bedrooms and media room have been supplied using dark-coloured blackout material to make a statement when used.

With a new variant, SIEGENIA is expanding the opportunities for the use of its tried and tested TITAN hardware: the TITAN PVC hinge side now enables the achievement of sash weights up to 150 kg for PVC windows. The company is therefore providing a high-performance solution combining high light incidence with state-of-the-art sound and thermal protection requirements, thus enabling a high degree of room comfort. The new hinge side also exhibits additional strengths in production and assembly, where it distinguishes itself by its simple and speedy fabrication.

The customer wanted to build a deck on the first storey of a period building in Chicago The windows opening out on to the roof were positioned considerably higher than the rooftop itself, which meant that the structure deployed to support the deck would also need to raise it up almost a metre to meet the threshold. We recommended a number of our heavy-duty Megapads ranging from 711mm to 876mm to account for the gradual fall in the roof. The customer chose not to envelope the pedestals because he liked the industrial look created, in keeping with downtown Chicago.

Discover the remarkable transformation of Draycott's Canal Side Cottages, a project that has breathed new life into six derelict 200-year-old cottages in Derbyshire. However, by 1985, they had fallen into disrepair, on the verge of demolition. In 2017, the Derbyshire and Sandiacre Canal Trust stepped in to rescue the cottages as part of their ambitious plan to restore the disused canal and the surrounding area.With the vision of turning these cottages into a vibrant mixed-use complex, the Trust launched a £650k appeal. The goal was to create three 2-3 bedroom dwellings, a canal side café, commercial spaces for leisure companies, and a museum showcasing the canal's history and the lives of mill workers.ADDC Architects, renowned conservation experts, were entrusted with the task of designing the conversion. They skillfully worked around the intricate history of the original brick buildings, which had gone through multiple alterations and rebuilds in the 19th century. The architects aimed to preserve the unique character of the cottages while ensuring a functional layout suitable for their new purpose.The restoration process involved an incredible community effort, with local tradesmen, contractors, and volunteers coming together to bring the cottages back to life. The extensive work included clearing vegetation and debris, erecting scaffolding, reinforcing timbers, and salvaging original bricks and slates for rebuilding.One crucial aspect of the restoration was the installation of new timber windows. Gowercroft Joinery, a reputable local manufacturer with expertise in heritage and restoration projects, supplied the traditional Chatsworth sliding sash windows for the canal-facing elevations. These windows perfectly matched the original designs, featuring slim finger-jointed frames and Georgian styled glazing bars. At the rear, Hardwick casement windows were installed to maintain a utilitarian look consistent with the building's history.Crafted from solid Red Grandis hardwood, the windows offered both elegance and energy efficiency. The bespoke curved top casements faithfully reinstated, and Melbourne hardwood doors further enhanced the joinery and timber craftsmanship throughout the cottages.The restored Canal Cottages now stand as a symbol of the Trust's broader vision to revive the 13-mile canal and its surrounding areas. Once completed, the canal restoration will create a 25-mile cruising ring, connecting to thousands of miles of navigable waterways across the UK. It will provide opportunities for outdoor activities, such as angling, canoeing, and cycling while promoting wildlife conservation and improving the well-being of local residents.By being a part of this project, Gowercroft Joinery has not only contributed to the architectural heritage but also supported the revival of the Derby Canal, acting as a catalyst for regeneration in the city centre. Sedlescombe is England's oldest organic wine estate. The new owners have totally transformed the Vineyard's shop and tasting room with a stunning combination of steel and glass being incorporated through the whole building design. The enormous pair of radius head door screens provide a magnificent feature both internally and externally. They are in keeping with the natural surroundings and a fabulous backdrop to the shop. Inside you will find further Clement EB24 door screens and doors used to beautifully partition rooms and allow light to flow through the building.

This North London family home has undergone a total transformation by our client Sara-Int Renovations Ltd. Two existing extensions have been demolished, the front entrance has been repositioned and the lower ground floor entirely rebuilt. The terrace off the living room was also reconstructed and now benefits from a spiral staircase which connects to the garden. The newly designed house showcases various styles of bespoke Clement steel window door screens and partitions, all with genuine T bars. A spacious and beautifully proportioned Georgian farmhouse situated in rural Broadland, Norfolk has been sympathetically and carefully renovated by an award-winning developer. Optima windows were chosen for the construction of 18 houses, 38 flats and two retail units as part of a regeneration scheme in Maidstone, Kent. Housing association Golding Homes has invested £50m in a three phase regeneration project to transform and improve the former Park Wood estate in Maidstone. The scheme involved providing over 200 new homes, mainly family houses, as well as new community facilities including new shops, and a much wider package of investment to improve the local area.

A stunning property on the Isle of Wight which was built around 1844 in the Italian style and situated within the Conservation Area of Ventnor. Lomax + Wood provided high performance, double glazed timber French doors and sash windows. The house combines quality wooden double glazed and weather-stripped Lomax + Wood windows and doors. The property was designed to be energy efficient with Celotex fitted in the majority of the house. This is another example of how well designed timber windows and doors can add to and enhance even the most sensitive renovation within a Conservation Area.

Dalston Lane comprises 121 apartments over ten storeys, set around two courtyards housing shops and restaurants. The project has received international attention for its pioneering architecture, becoming an exemplar project for high quality, high density, inner city housing, and uses VELFAC glazing to help deliver healthy, comfortable and attractive spaces in which to live or work. Dating from the late 18th century, Frederick’s Place in London EC2 had led an opulent past. With a late prime minister and several prominent business founders as its previous residents, this address also boasts St Paul’s Cathedral as a neighbour. This distinguished building can still be easily found nestled between museums, restaurants and art galleries in the old streets of the financial district, in the borough of the City of London.The original design of the building was by Robert Adam, a prominent English architect, and the building was named after the late Sir John Frederick, a 17th century Lord Mayor of London.Today however, this opulent building is now registered as Grade II listed, and is to be exquisitely transformed by John Robertson Architects into luxury office space on behalf of The Mercers’ Company.

The non-profit organization Living Architecture has realised four special holiday homes across England, each one is an extraordinary example of contemporary architecture, designed by leading architects. The most spectacular of the projects is the ‘Balancing Barn’ in Suffolk (Uk), designed by the Dutch bureau MVRDV. In the 30-metre long house, which juts out 15 metres over the edge of a rise, Reynaers CP 155-LS (Lift & Slide) was used for the large sliding windows. The large protruding section meant that it was possible to place another large window in the floor as a complement to the architectonic spectacle.

Berwick Street is a lively and diverse community in the heart of London's Soho district, built between 1687 and 1703. It runs between Oxford Street to the north and Peter Street to the south and is well known for its thriving market which was established in the 18th century, making it one of the oldest markets in London. 90-104 Berwick Street has recently been transformed from an unattractive 1950s block into a stylish, contemporary, mixed use development. Although unlisted, the building is situated in the Core Central Activities Zone and the Soho Conservation Area, so it was vital that any changes made were in keeping with the surroundings. Clement Windows Group was requested to supply and install the custom- made steel windows and door screens used for the shop fronts on the ground level. A combination of products was specified from both hot rolled and cold formed steel profiles all with polyester powder paint surface coatings. These included Clement W40 steel windows which sit beside and above the doors, the Jansen Economy 50 range of single and double doors and Jansen Economy 60 range of bi fold doors.The Project Manager, Ben Styles said “The Clement W40 steel windows and the Jansen Economy doors provided us with the slender, elegant frames we wanted for this Central London development, giving the shop fronts a contemporary look while remaining true to the urban origins of the site. Clement delivered to our timescales, and we would use them again.”

The new centre, sympathetically designed by the prestigious Glenn Howells Architects, uses Reynaers’ CW 60 modular curtain walling, Vision 50 door system, ES 50 Eco System door, CS 68-HV Hidden Vent window and CS 77 doors. It was built by contractors Stepnell and the consultant was Wintech Ltd. With a large restaurant and shop, separate coffee shop and beautiful cloistered courtyard with garden, it’s hoped that the new centre will attract hundreds of thousands of new visitors to the Arboretum.

Our client approached us with a unique challenge: they needed to convert their existing restaurant into a drive-thru establishment. Departing from conventional construction methods involving brick buildings, we proposed an innovative solution: a comprehensive aluminium bolt-on pod system. This system offered unparalleled advantages, allowing for rapid on-site expansion while minimising disruption to ongoing operations. Fabricated entirely off-site in our workshops, the pod system was swiftly assembled on-site, providing ample space for the drive-thru restaurant within a remarkably short timeframe. This modular approach not only streamlined the construction process but also empowered the main contractor to efficiently carry out internal fit-out works tailored to the client’s specific requirements.The aluminium pod system we implemented catered to carious needs, seamlessly integrating essential functionalities into its design. Within the structure, we incorporated designated spaces for a stockroom and an electrical intake room, ensuring optimal organisation and efficiency. Moreover, the pod featured a dedicated drive-thru serving booth, complete with a strategically positioned side access door and a robust, heavy duty drive-thru window system. Crafted from commercial-grade aluminium sections, the pod system was meticulously customised to reflect the client’s corporate identity, incorporating their distinctive colour schemes throughout. Solid infill panels, positioned below waist height and above the suspended ceiling height, added both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity to the design. By embracing innovation and customisation, we delivered a turnkey solution that not only met but exceeded our client’s expectations for their drive-thru restaurant conversion project.

The Cooperage is located on a former industrial site in Central London and is believed to have been built in the early 1900s.
