Vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s safety and homogeneous flooring collections was recently installed through new facilities at Cheshunt School in Hertfordshire. Approximately 2000m² of flooring from the Mystique PUR, Prestige PUR and Polysafe Mosaic PUR ranges was fitted at the secondary school by Flortec Ltd working for construction company Beard. Ideally suited to busy education environments, Mystique PUR in Titanio was used in classrooms while Prestige PUR in Grey Marl was chosen for corridors, staircases and other circulation areas. Polysafe Mosaic PUR safety flooring in Grey Fusion was selected for use in the school’s science classrooms and toilets areas.

A variety of commercial vinyl tile products from Polyflor were chosen to create a retro inspired interior design scheme for Nelson’s Diner in Newbury, Berkshire. Approximately 300m² of Polyflor flooring was installed by The Hull Flooring Company Limited at Nelson’s Diner in Kennet Shopping Centre. The refurbishment project was led by BMS Limited. Expona Bevel Line tiles in Portland Stone and Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles in Light Grey Concrete and Black Matrix were fitted around the booth and bar seating area. Polyflex Plus were used to create a chequerboard pattern floor in the middle of the diner

The Window Film Company were asked to help with providing a bespoke privacy solution for motorsport giants McLaren for their new exclusive showroom at One Hyde Park, London. When McLaren announced the launch of its brand new supercar, the MP4-12C, it was clear it was a very special vehicle. It was also clear that it was going to require a very special showroom.

Since being established in 1992, Hauser & Wirth has shot to prominence as an internationally acclaimed gallery, displaying contemporary art and modern masters. The gallery now has permanent homes in Switzerland, New York and London and is currently celebrating twenty years at the forefront of the art world. To commemorate the twentieth anniversary, Hauser & Wirth wanted to turn the windows of their Savile Row gallery into an external exhibition, displaying an array of striking images.

Challenge As part of a major Council Housing refurbishment project Portsmouth City specified the installation of a new vinyl floor covering to all stairwells with new Equality Act compliant stair nosings. The Equality Act offers best practice guidance and recommendations on how to make stairways safe and accessible for partially sighted people. Any new stair nosings for the project would therefore need to feature appropriately sized dimensions, a contrasting band of colour and tactile hazard warning surfaces to assist with user safety.

When motorsport giants McLaren announced they were to open a showroom in London, there was worldwide excitement. Understandably, McLaren were keen to complete the showroom fit-out in privacy and The Window Film Company were engaged to provide a solution. Privacy was ensured by printing a bespoke set of designs onto external grade white vinyl, which was then fitted to the windows at the showroom, housed at the prestigious One Hyde Park development. Heavy commercial Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor were recently chosen to complete the stylish interior design scheme at The LiquorLab, a new cocktail bar at the Southwater development in Telford, Shropshire. The LiquorLab is Southwater’s first cocktail bar, with a laidback, industrial inspired design scheme created by local commercial kitchen and interior fit out company Catering Centre UK. Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the Huckleberry Oak shade were installed in the lounge, seating and bar areas to create an inviting space for customers to socialise in.

Stunning wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from UK manufacturer Polyflor were recently chosen for the refurbishment of The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop at one of Birmingham’s largest leisure attractions, Cadbury World. Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles in the American Oak wood effect design were installed by Alpha UK Ltd flooring contractors of Walsall in the gift shop at this family tourist attraction on Cadbury's Bournville manufacturing site. This classic and subtle wood design perfectly complements Cadbury’s signature purple shade and the store’s big and bright display units which feature some of their best known brands.

Vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s Classic Mystique PUR and Expona Design PUR ranges was recently used to create a fresh, modern office environment for international technology company Analog Devices in Co. Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Polyflor flooring supplied by Provincial Floorcoverings Ltd was installed at the Analog Devices’ regional headquarters by flooring contractor Southern Mosaics of Ennis, Co. Clare. 500 m² of Classic Mystique PUR sheet vinyl flooring in two complementary grey shades, Silver Mist 1430 and Nocturne 1380, was installed within the office canteen to provide a neutral base for the bright furniture and food serving stations.

High design Expona luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor were recently installed at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe to give the café area a modern new look as part of their renovation project. Situated in a grade II* listed former church, 20-21 Visual Arts Centre is a leading visitor attraction in Scunthorpe town centre which features five gallery spaces showing a range of contemporary art, design and crafts. Polyflor’s Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the abstract Light Contour design were installed by Direct Carpets flooring contractors of Scunthorpe in the centre’s popular café.

A triplex of customised Stannah lifts are delivering vital office access and goods movement in the Record Store, an Art Deco, former record-pressing factory and part of the £250m regeneration of The Old Vinyl Factory, erstwhile home of record label EMI, in West London. The triplex operates in wall-mounted shafts in the spacious lift lobby, an integral part of the compact, central core. Their design supports an efficient blueprint, also minimising the structural impact on the building. This core also doubles as a fire-fighting shaft, comprising a firefighting stair, mechanically ventilated firefighting lobby and a firefighting lift.

F. Ball’s Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS vinyl adhesive, a revolutionary development in temperature tolerant adhesives, has been used to install luxury vinyl tiles in a shopping park food court that is subject to temperature change and heavy footfall. Extreme temperature fluctuations can cause floorcoverings to expand and contract over time, leading to tenting and gapping. The innovative formulation of Styccobond F49 limits any movement and holds the floorcovering firmly in place.  Importantly, the adhesive also delivers the instant grab associated with pressure sensitive adhesives, which, until now, hasn’t been available for temperature tolerant adhesives.

The Gym Group benefitted from Tarasafe Ultra H2O, Vinyl Safety Flooring and GTI Max, Fast Track Vinyl Flooring in its extensive health and fitness facility.

Over 100m² of wood effect Affinity255 luxury vinyl tiles supplied by Polyflor Canada were chosen to create a contemporary look for the new 360centre360 physiotherapy clinic in Ottawa, Ontario. Affinity255 luxury vinyl tiles in the Aspen Pine and Seasoned Grey Oak shades were installed by Lamont Flooring in the entrance area and therapy rooms of the new build clinic. Heterogeneous sheet vinyl flooring in the Teal shade from Polyflor’s Expona Flow range was also used alongside the Affinity255 luxury vinyl tiles to create circle designs.

The combination of a DYNAMIK sprung, high compression, comfort based undercarriage finished in a solid (non-foam backed) vinyl provides high levels of indentation resistance from tables, chairs or play equipment typically seen in Primary or Junior Schools. The feeling of comfort is achieved by the flexibility of the new DYNAMIK Sprung base and not the top playing surface as the Vinyl is solid, therefore will not indent or tear when a point or rolling load is applied. The DYNAMIK Sports Vinyl in wood effect is easy to clean, combating drink or food spillages.

Luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Camaro PUR flooring collection were used to create homely accommodation for visitors at Staycity Aparthotels Paragon Street in York, North Yorkshire. Approximately 5500m² of Camaro PUR wood effect luxury vinyl tiles in the White Limed Oak design were chosen to complete the interior design scheme inside the 197-room aparthotel. Installed by national flooring contractors Titan Interior Solutions Ltd, Camaro luxury vinyl tiles were fitted throughout all areas of the apartments.

Wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Expona Design PUR collection were the perfect choice of flooring for a school hall refurbishment project at Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools in Edinburgh. 315m² of Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the Walnut design were installed by Forever Flooring of Broxburn, Mid Lothian at the independent school for girls aged 12 to 17. The school hall needed to be refurbished, and as Expona Design flooring was performing well elsewhere in the school, the same luxury vinyl tile range was selected for this space.

Sports Direct’s new 35,000ft2 Watford store represents the model of the retailer’s next generation environment. Bringing sports brands including Nike, Adidas and Puma, along with urban fashion labels through the USC streetwear and fashion outlet; the store delivers an enhanced shopping experience. Throughout the store, Luxury Vinyl Tiles and Heterogeneous Vinyl floors from IVC have been used. Employing a mix of high-performance Moduleo 55, Moduleo 55 Expressive and Concept 70 compact sheet vinyl; The One Off, the creative agency behind the immersive retail design, has used flooring to help elevate the brand.

Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles from leading vinyl flooring manufacturer Polyflor were chosen to create a unique design floor at The Balloon Tree Farmshop and Café in York. Natural Brushed Oak and Silvered Driftwood luxury vinyl tiles from the Expona Design collection were installed by Elvington Floorcraft Ltd, with the grey-toned Silvered Driftwood shade creating a large circle in the middle of the shop floor. Owner of The Balloon Tree Farmshop Matthew Machin commented, “We’re delighted with the refurbishment and new floor design which has given our farmshop a modern refresh in time for our busy Christmas period.”

A range of Polyflor’s high design and high performance vinyl flooring was recently installed at Rhondda Housing Association’s brand new Llys Graig Y Wion social housing development in Pontypridd, Wales. Polyflor flooring was installed by Artisan Flooring in approximately 29 apartments within Llys Graig Y Wion’s three main blocks and three bungalows. 520m² of Acoustix Forest fx PUR sheet vinyl flooring in European Oak 3345 was installed in communal areas including stairwells, hallways and landings. 1600m² of Polyflor’s Colonia PUR luxury vinyl tile in English Oak was fitted throughout living spaces in the development’s apartments.

A combination of high performance flooring from Polyflor’s luxury vinyl tile and sheet vinyl flooring ranges was used to create a dynamic, geometric flooring design at Solihull School’s brand new Sixth Form centre. Installed by Gladston Contract Flooring Specialists, Pearlazzo PUR flooring was used to produce a hexagonal patterned floor design in the centre’s breakout and dining area whilst Expona Control PUR luxury vinyl tiles created a pathway through the common room area and into the adjoining corridors and staircases. The hexagon shapes were created by Polyflor’s in-house Design Service using precision waterjet cutting technology.

High design vinyl flooring from Polyflor was chosen to create a modern look for gift and gadget retailer RED5 in their store at Princes Quay Shopping Centre in Hull recently. Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles in Dark Concrete were installed throughout the shop floor area at this high street gadget shop by local flooring contractor The Hull Flooring Co Ltd. Jonathon Simpson from The Hull Flooring Co Ltd commented, “With Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles we were able to deliver a high performance flooring solution with a high design finish that our customer RED5 was delighted with."

High design and high performance Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles from commercial and residential vinyl flooring manufacturer Polyflor were used to create a modern bistro at the Belong Warrington care village in Cheshire recently. Wood effect Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles in Light Elm were installed in the bistro, reception area, corridors and also in the village exercise studio. The £9.5 million state-of-the-art Belong Warrington care village, designed by Pozzoni Architecture Ltd, is a community facility, including village centre amenities, households for residents who require 24 hour dementia and nursing care, and independent living apartments.

Luxury vinyl sheet flooring and Polysafe safety flooring from Polyflor was recently installed throughout apartments on the Belle View social housing development, Stow Park Avenue, Newport. Approximately 1400m² of Designatex PUR sheet vinyl flooring, Polysafe Wood fx PUR and Polysafe Arena PUR safety flooring was installed during the interior fit out phase by Evabuild Interiors Ltd, under main contractor Willis Construction. The Platinum Oak grey wood effect design from Polyflor’s Designatex collection of luxury vinyl sheet flooring for residential interiors was used throughout bedroom, living room and kitchen areas in each apartment.

1700m² of Polyflor’s vinyl flooring was recently used to create a fresh and spacious environment at Cwmgelli Lodge care facility in Blackwood, Wales, a flagship facility designed to positively meet the needs of younger people who have been diagnosed with dementia or cognitive impairment. Wood effect Forest fx PUR sheet vinyl in American Oak was installed throughout the Lodge’s communal areas, circulation spaces, café and dining areas as well as bedrooms by Floor Furnishings Ltd of Cardiff.

High performance wood effect sheet vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s Forest fx PUR collection was recently chosen to help create a stylish interior for pampered pets at Glamour Pooch Dog Spa and Day Care in Freckleton, UK. The concept for this retail interior was created by Beverley Wood Design, a creative consultancy service based in Lytham St Anne’s. Forest fx PUR vinyl flooring in the Rustic Oak shade was installed by the clients flooring contractors in the reception and dog grooming areas.

Polyflor vinyl flooring was used to help refurbish Beechwood Cancer Care Centre in Stockport, Greater Manchester in time to celebrate 25 years of supporting cancer patients. Affinity255 heavy commercial luxury vinyl tiles in the Saw Mill Oak design were installed in communal meeting areas at the centre free of charge by Manchester based flooring retailers Pauls Floors with help from other local fitters. The Beechwood Cancer Care Centre is a charity offering counselling, complementary therapies and group sessions to cancer patients and their families.

Forbo Flooring Systems’ design-led luxury vinyl tiles and safety flooring has contributed to the Japanese aesthetic at Leicester’s newly refurbished restaurant YO! Sushi, whilst providing the slip resistance required for a busy restaurant. InnSight Design was tasked to re-design the popular sushi restaurant in order to capitalise on the Japanese theme. As such, the designers created an elaborate city theme, which included the installation of a large digitally printed wall mural of Tokyo at night, alongside Forbo’s Surestep Wood safety flooring, Allura Wood and Allura Safety luxury vinyl tiles.

Forest fx PUR vinyl flooring was used to create striking design floors at The Pavilion on the Park, a youth and community centre in Eastleigh, Hampshire. Specified by Southampton based architects Michael Weakley Associates and installed by Tildan Construction, Forest fx PUR vinyl sheet flooring in the warm Rich Cherry shade was selected for the installation. A further four Forest fx shades - Classic Oak, Smoked Oak, Warm Beech and Mahogany - were used to create the detailed compass motifs designed by Michael Weakley Associates which sit in the centre of the café and hall floors.

Heavy commercial Expona Flow PUR sheet vinyl flooring from Polyflor was installed in the School of Life Sciences building at the University of Nottingham to help create a striking break out area for students to relax, work and grab a snack in between lectures. Around 300 m² of Expona Flow high design vinyl flooring was installed by Derbyshire Floorcraft Ltd in the Life Sciences building’s vending machine lounge. The bold and graphic Firelight design was chosen from the Infinity collection within the Expona Flow product range by main contractor Petric Contracts.

High design luxury vinyl tile flooring from Polyflor’s Expona Commercial collection was recently chosen as part of a sophisticated and stylish interior design scheme for Handbag Clinic in Islington, London. Handbag Clinic specialises in the care, repair and restoration of designer handbags and leather fashion accessories, as well as selling preowned luxury goods in their handbag boutique. The design scheme for the Islington branch refurbishment was created by Aubury Design, a Newcastle-based interior design service. Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles in the Crème Swirl design were selected for the shop floor area.

Hard wearing luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Affinity255 PUR collection of high-design wood effect flooring were recently chosen for the refurbishment of Enfields Kitchen, a student run restaurant at Gateshead College. Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the popular Huckleberry Oak design were installed by local flooring contractor Floorstyles-Direct in the restaurant’s dining area. Situated at Gateshead College’s Baltic campus, Enfields Kitchen is a contemporary restaurant where all the food is made and served by students enrolled in the college’s hospitality and catering courses.

Beautiful wood effect vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s Expona Flow range was selected to refresh the look of a school hall at Reigate Grammar School in Surrey. 400 m² of Expona Flow sheet vinyl flooring was installed by Brampton Flooring for the school hall refurbishment. The warm and inviting Blond Oak design, which authentically replicates the natural beauty of timber planks, was chosen to enhance the large, bright space of the hall. Specified by Julian Sawyers of J S Surveying Associates, this classic light oak design was ideal for the multi-purpose space.
