When it came to designing Tarkett’s new UK HQ in Ashford, sustainability and wellbeing had to be at the heart of the concept.
With a fierce dedication to creating environmentally-friendly products that promote healthy spaces, the decor provided the perfect opportunity for Tarkett to showcase its impressive credentials. London-based fit-out specialist Peldon Rose was brought in to assist.
After consulting with the Tarkett team, Peldon Rose sought to create an inclusive office environment, catering for a wide range of different tasks and preferred working styles.

A stunning installation created by Parisian design studio 5.5, was unveiled on Tarkett’s stand at this year’s Euroshop. Celebrating creative expression, the design with its poetic cloud of intricate vinyl shapes, was inspired by Tarkett’s daring new Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) collection, iD Mixonomi. Part of Tarkett’s successful ‘Floor is the new Playground’ concept, the daring new collection offers architects and designers unparalleled opportunities to push the boundaries with LVT. Not only can they have fun creating expressive designs across the floor, designers can also easily achieve unique, personalised flooring – perfect for unique customer experiences.

Tarkett chosen for NHS teenage cancer unit - The unit at Southampton General NHS Hospital was funded by the Teenage Cancer Trust and designed to create a space as comfortable as possible. Featuring six en-suite bedrooms, a four bed day unit, social space and support facilities. The bright and engaging décor of the centre was created using a variety of Tarkett flooring. The Tarkett flooring used included iQ Optima in Yellow, Medium Blue and Green, iQ Eminent in Turquoise and Acczent Excellence 80 in Bamboo.

As a nationwide business, WED2B are passionate about their business and core principals of quality, choice and service. The interior design of each of their stores is carefully planned and executed to the highest standards, so the choice of flooring is no exception. Tarkett was the natural choice for their luxury vinyl floor tiles.
Regatta - Dublin

Situated in the buzzing and vibrant Square Tallaght shopping center, the Regatta store attracts shoppers from across the capital. As part of its rebrand campaign, the outdoor clothing store underwent a complete refurbishment to establish a bold look inspired by nature to reflect the brand’s identity.
Tarkett was selected to take the lead on the store’s flooring installation after being chosen by close partners, Johnston Shopfitters, who were managing the project.
Donington Park

Throughout its long history, Donington Park has seen a number of refurbishments and renovations to maintain its pole position amongst the top race tracks in Britain and across the world. Now owned and operated by the prestigious MotorSport Vision (MSV) Group, Donington Park has benefited tremendously from huge investment in recent months to update and enhance the venue in line with MSV’s other circuits. Having previously worked with Tarkett on other projects, MSV was keen to rekindle its partnership when it came to choosing a high quality flooring solution for its new restaurant at Donington Park.

For its flagship store on Oxford Street in London, the M&S Pantheon, it was important that the interior design reflected the significance of the brand. To ensure that this look was achieved, M&S Pantheon turned to Tarkett for a flooring collaboration as part of its refurbishment.
Marks & Spencer - Peterborough

The Marks and Spencer (M&S) store in Peterborough is situated in a key location, right at the heart of the Queensgate Shopping Centre. With over 90 shops, 15 places to eat and thousands of brands, Queensgate attracts a heavy footfall, acting as a real hub for shoppers in the area.
As part of the Shopping Centre’s £30million redevelopment plans, the M&S store underwent a complete refurbishment. Tarkett has worked with the M&S group for over five years and - given the success of their previous work - they were the natural partners for this project too.
Bisset Adams - London

Working across more than thirty countries in Europe, Bisset Adams is an award-winning architecture and design practice with its central hub based in the UK. To accommodate for the growing team of architects, interior designers, project managers and brand specialists, earlier this year the London headquarters underwent a full refurbishment.
As experts in the field, the Bisset Adams team managed the project themselves, and turned to Tarkett and DESSO to supply the flooring, as they wanted to create a vibrant, yet functional design that would provide natural movement between different areas and outline distinct zones.
Virgin Money Lounge - Glasgow

The Tarkett Floorcraft Design team was commissioned to create the customized dance floor, using artwork supplied by Allen International. At four meters in diameter, the intricate and highly-detailed design uses contrasting shades of the Luxury Vinyl Tile iD Inspiration 70 flooring in light oak and dark walnut. Instead of being printed, each piece of the design was individually cut using a precision sonic blade that oscillates at 20,000 cycles per second. The pieces were then assembled onto a solid vinyl core like a jigsaw puzzle, before having a thick layer of transparent PVC added onto the top.
Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant - Cornwall

Overlooking the beach on the north coast of Cornwall, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant underwent a major refurbishment in 2013. Absolute Design took the lead on the project, with the aim of creating a more colourful and contemporary space. Inspired by a new wave of expressive art called “Pop Surrealism”, Newquay artist Ben Allen was commissioned to paint onto a blank white wall to transform the restaurant into a living work of art.
The designers wanted to create an equally striking flooring installation to complement the new, bold walls, and the Tarkett Floorcraft Design team were a perfect fit.
National Opera Studio

The National Opera Studio is the leading opera training organisation in the UK, and works in partnership with the UK’s six leading Opera companies: the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, English National Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North and Welsh National Opera.
In the Summer of 2017, the London-based studio underwent a full refurbishment with the aim of creating a more modern, professional space to welcome the variety of artists, staff, music coaches, donors and professionals that visit the studio on a daily basis.
London Waste and Recycling Board

When the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB) moved into their new HQ they set out to design a space that would embody their core values of creating a circular economy. This meant designing an innovative and inviting space, while keeping sustainability at front of mind.
Interior specialists, Action Workspace, were brought in to manage the design, specification and installation for the fit-out. With the project brief focusing heavily on the use of recycled or recyclable material, they worked closely with LWARB to ensure total transparency when it came to making sustainable material choices.

This forward thinking school chose a DYNAMIK Sprung Flexi-Beam System finished in 22mm Tarkett Engineered Oak playing surface. Their school emblem was designed as a vinyl graphic in full colour to also include the basketball centre line and centre circle allowing the court to be Sport England compliant.
Nova North Office Refit

When adhesive-free flooring was specified for this HQ office refit, the contractor needed an installation method that was compatible with carpet from Desso, LVT from Tarkett and woven vinyl tiles from Bolon. IOBAC Magtabs MT4+ were the ideal solution for installation onto raised metal access flooring.

From floor to ceiling this 'Sport For All' school chose the DYNAMIK treatment with an area elastic sprung sports floor finished in Tarkett Sports Vinyl and DYNAMIK Sports Wall panels to provide the best acoustics. The Solid & Acoustic (Perforated) sports wall panels in Classic Oak CPL wood-effect finish complement the Grey floor surface.

The Sports Hall and Activity Studio were installed with the DYNAMIK Flexi-Beam Plus and Flexi-Beam Elite sprung floor systems. They chose a Tarkett Sports Linoleum which is a solid synthetic playing surface ideal for multi-use areas as used in busy schools. The Activity Studio was installed with Flexi-Beam Elite in European Oak.
Sparsholt College
DYNAMIK Sports Flooring
Sparsholt's continued growth over recent years meant that a new sports hall was required to enhance their sporting facilities. The new building included a four badminton court hall along with a modern Dance/Aerobic Studio and extensive Fitness Suite. The majority of the work was completed using the area elastic Komfort Plus sprung sports flooring system finished in Tarkett solid Sports Vinyl.

This project is a collaborative effort of many different parties to enable many facets of the community. It was partly funded by Burnley Football Club and grants from funding bodies including Sport England. DYNAMIK worked alongside Barnfield Construction to create the sports facilities including a four court Sports Hall installed with a DYNAMIK area elastic sprung sports floor finished with Tarkett Veneto Sports Linoleum, an ideal solid synthetic surface for sporting and community use. The Dance Studio was installed with a DYNAMIK sprung sports floor in Oak.
CB Hounslow United FC - F. Ball Help Install Premier League Flooring in Charity Football Club Build

Flooring preparation products donated by F. Ball have been used to install high-quality floorcoverings in the newly-built clubhouse at CB Hounslow United FC.
Stopgap P121 acrylic primer was used to prime the subfloor before Stopgap 1100 Gypsum was applied to create a perfectly smooth surface ahead of the installation of the floorcoverings.
Styccobond F41 carpet tile tackifier was then used to install high-quality, bitumen-backed Desso carpet tiles to create a border around the perimeter of the function room.
Lastly, wood-effect, Tarkett vinyl sheet floorcoverings were installed using Styccobond F46 solvent-free, pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive.
BBC DIY SOS - F. Ball products support BBC’s DIY SOS: The Big Build

F. Ball products have been used to install floorcoverings, as part of a life-changing residential refurbishment.
Contractors began by priming the concrete subfloor using Stopgap P131 general purpose primer, before applying Stopgap Fast-Track 30 floor smoothing underlayment to level the rooms.
Styccobond F73 PLUS heavy duty adhesive provided the high bond strength needed to secure Tarkett Primo Safe-t vinyl sheet and LVT.
Plywood sheets were firmly affixed to the existing floorboard subfloor, and Stopgap 500 Micro was used to smooth over screwheads and the joints between panels. Contractors then installed LVT, again using Styccobond F73 PLUS adhesive.
The Doctors Laboratory, Salford - F. Ball Prescribes Products for Doctors’ Laboratory

Products from F. Ball have been used to create a hygienic flooring finish as part of a refurbishment at The Doctors Laboratory, in Salford, Manchester.Flooring contractors used Stopgap Fill and Prime 700 Superflex flexible levelling compound to prepare 1500m² of metal raised access panels before installing vinyl sheet floorcoverings and coving. Once the primer had cured, Stopgap 700 Superflex flexible levelling compound was applied to create a perfectly smooth finish for the receipt of floorcoverings. With the subfloor preparation complete, the flooring contractors could install Tarkett IQ Granit Acoustic Vinyl sheet throughout the entire area using Styccobond F46 pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive which possesses a high initial tack, making it ideal for the installing of floorcoverings over larger areas. Finally, the contractors used Styccobond F66 contact adhesive to install PVC coving.
