Traditional Heritage Timber Casement Windows - Enhancing the Charm of Maltsters Tap, ShropshireLocated in the idyllic village of Cardington, near Church Stretton in Shropshire, the Maltsters Tap is a Grade II listed former brewery that recently underwent a remarkable transformation with the installation of traditional flush casement windows. Gowercroft Joinery's expertise in crafting heritage windows proved instrumental in this project, which serves as a compelling case study for architects and specifiers seeking to preserve the timeless appeal of traditional architecture.The property's new owner, Brian Tripp, sought to renovate his acquired dwelling with windows that perfectly complemented the rustic elegance of the countryside aesthetic while providing modern-day performance. Brian first discovered Gowercroft Joinery at the renowned Grand Design Exhibition, where he downloaded their brochure and subsequently reached out to discuss his specific requirements.Traditional Heritage Casement WindowsThe Maltsters Tap resides in the heart of the village, with its focal point being the charming village church. Surrounded by postcard-perfect scenery, it became evident that the choice of windows had to harmonize seamlessly with the picturesque surroundings. As Brian explains, "When we saw the Gowercroft Heritage window at the 'Grand Designs' Exhibition, we knew straight away it was just right for our listed building renovation, both for us and for our local Conservation Officer."The renovation process involved merging the two converted dwellings into a single residence, followed by a comprehensive interior refurbishment. Comfort and traditional styling were paramount, and upgrading the windows played a pivotal role in achieving these goals. The original single-glazed windows were replaced with Gowercroft's Richmond Flush Casement Heritage Windows, meticulously selected to blend with the property's historical character while delivering exceptional thermal efficiency.To retain the traditional look, the windows feature astragals, horizontal bars that replicate the iconic Georgian window design. However, ensuring uniformity presented a unique challenge due to the varying heights of the windows. Gowercroft's skilled team meticulously calculated the glass sizes and determined the number of astragals required for each window, accounting for the non-uniform dimensions characteristic of older properties. Additionally, the double skin insulating plasterboard necessitated adjustments to the frame sections, maintaining consistent sightlines throughout the project.Heritage Casement Windows InstalledIn total, 26 of Gowercroft's Richmond Heritage casement windows were expertly installed, completely transforming the Maltsters Tap and fulfilling Brian's vision for his dream home. Neaco’s glass balustrade and aluminium grille systems are once again proving their value in contemporary design schemes following a specification at Fawcetts Yard, a development of luxury homes in Harrogate. Designed by Bramhall Blenkharn and built by HACS Construction, the select development comprises four stylish three-storey homes alongside a workshop/studio. The balconies on each home feature Neaco’s Techdek decking as well as their Elan semi-structural balustrade system with aluminium stanchions and handrails in a grey powder coated finish. The result is an attractively minimalist aesthetic in keeping with the development’s modern design and finish.

This microbrewery needed floor drainage that could be custom made to fit around their brewing equipment, and manage high flow rates and even higher temperatures. Long-lasting quality was key for this fast paced, pedestrian heavy environment.BLÜCHER facilitated the design of an L shaped channel in grade 304 stainless steel, complete with a mesh grating. This bespoke channel allows ease of access to all the brewing tanks within the area, without comprising on flow rate or heat resistance.The installation of the custom L shaped channel has met the unique requirements of the customer. With its ability to handle high flow rates, withstand high temperatures, fit seamlessly into the brewing setup and endure pedestrian traffic, the brewery is now fully prepared to withstand day-to-day brewing operations.

Knowle C of E Primary School in Solihull has undergone phase two of their major washroom refurbishment. Abode delivered a combined sink and tap offering to high-end house builder Berkeley Group, for its Edenbrook Village development in Hampshire. The challenge for Abode was to supply a complimentary sink and tap offering to work alongside the specified German contemporary kitchens from Leicht. Exceeding at the challenge, Abode took one of its stand-out designer taps, New Media in four finishes and coupled them with the extremely versatile R15 Matrix stainless steel one-and-a-half bowl sink, providing solutions that excelled in form and function.

Offering innovative architecture, exquisite design and panoramic views across Canary Wharf, the river Thames and City of London, Newfoundland was set to become one of the capital’s most desirable places to live. In keeping with the stature of the project, our challenge was to supply a high-end flow restricted kitchen tap to work alongside the specified kitchens. We took one of our stand out design pieces, tall, simple yet majestic, the Linear style tap and developed the product to meet the flow restriction requirements. An initial trial set was set up at North Devon District Hospital using the AquariTherm™ Manual tap. As the AquariTherm range was designed with healthcare environments in mind, it was a great match.One of the taps main selling point, was the patented isolation feature, which allows the tap to be removed for servicing or exchange without the need to isolate the water or remove any panels. This unique feature reduces any down time during servicing or disinfection, with easy to access filters these can be removed, replaced or cleaned in a matter of seconds.

No kitchen is ever complete without the sink and tap, and on a high-end project such as The Atelier in London, it was important that the sinks, just as every area of the design, were of the highest specification. Hopkins Architects, who worked on the project on behalf of house builder Regal-London, chose the Abode R15 stainless steel sink to achieve the brief. With the manufacturer’s Althia designer brassware being the perfect match, this sink and tap pairing were supplied for use across all of the 43 boutique apartments in West Kensington.

Software firm, HiBob, enhances the workplace experience by installing TopBrewer in their Clerkenwell officeHiBob’s bright and modern London HQ has everything you could need from the workplace - from spacious breakout areas and a range of workstations, to barista-quality coffee on tap from their TopBrewer coffee machine.TopBrewer’s unique design, with its under-counter brew unit and sleek swan neck tap, meant it could be seamlessly integrated into the centre of the main counter to act as an anchor point for collaboration without disrupting the flow of the space.
