The transformation has resulted in an accessible facility that promotes confidence, independence, and the well-being of its residents.County Gutters surveyed the former home of the RAF Benevolent Fund before sending measurements and drawings to our CAD team.Joe Wheatley of County Gutters worked closely with CAD Design Engineer Reece Mooney to ensure the designs were feasible and achievable. Their combined expertise successfully brought the architects' vision to life.Using high-quality marine-grade powder coating in colours such as Chartwell green, traffic white, and mid-grey, the finished product is visually striking and highly durable.The aluminium fabrications are strong and non-corrosive and require minimal maintenance, making them an ideal choice for a busy facility like the Blind Veterans UK Centre.The ARP team designed, manufactured and finished production in just a few weeks, with installation starting four weeks after receiving the order from County Gutters. DuPont™ Tyvek® Reflex and DuPont™ AirGuard® achieve impressive results for a new timber frame house build in Ireland

Fresh Wharf is being developed by Countryside, in partnership with housing association Notting Hill Genesis on a 10-acre, former brownfield site situated along the banks of the River Roding. Demolition of old premises on the site started in early 2018 and Phase 1 of the construction project commenced later that year. After this, construction of the new properties commenced in earnest, with the apartment blocks and townhouses being constructed. Installation was undertaken by sub-contractor, Stanmore, with Metsec using Revit to create the construction level design for the framing system at the early stages of the project’s conceptualisation.

Scandia Hus, the largest designer and supplier of Swedish energy saving timber framed homes in the UK, is using ACTIS Hybrid insulation on many of its projects.

Our client, One 17 Design, acted as Architects, Interior Designers and Project Managers for this superb project with involvement from inception through to completion. Their brief was to create a home office / garden room in the grounds of an existing detached home, which was done by extending the detached garage.The material palette for the garden room predominately featured oak and steel. Blackened oak cabinetry and steel fenestration provide a striking contrast against the natural oak frame and cladding. Clever detailing in the relationship between the oak frame and steel doors adds a contemporary twist. The bricks for the outside of the building were selected to match the brickwork of the existing bungalow. Bespoke Clement steel windows and doors from the W20 range were chosen for the project, including an interior door, fitted with reeded glass that leads to the bathroom. All handles were powder coated black to match the steel frames.The project won “Best amazing space” at the 2022 Northern Design Awards.Freddie Garside, Partner and Director at One 17 Design, said:“We and our client were delighted with the finished doors and screens. The narrow framed black steel doors complement the natural oak frame perfectly. The Curtain is a beautiful industrial jewel located on the site of a former 1970s office block. Leading aluminium systems company Reynaers has helped to develop this complete new building into a beautiful industrial jewel.

There’s no monkeying around for Kestrel Aluminium Systems and HTL Windows and Doors as they deliver an improved visitor experience at Whipsnade Zoo based in Dunstable. As part of a refurbishment project the entrance area was redesigned incorporating a gift shop, café and ticket office, all under one roof creating an inviting visitor welcome area.

No other material could have produced such an exquisite end result as steel for this project in Surrey. Clement were contacted by the owners who wished to replace all of their original steel windows and doors. Following careful consideration of what was available Clement's EB24 suite of steel windows was chosen. The stunning double doors benefit from the use of surface mounted cremone bolts instead of a usual lever locking mechanism which means the centre bar of steel is slim and elegant just like those of the outer frames.

A requirement in Corstorphine Wright’s design brief was to avoid horizontal movement joints in the finished façade, which would have been the result had a traditional SFS Infill to concrete frame approach been taken. Working with Willmott Dixon at the early design stages of the contract, Metsec’s in-house design team proposed a continuous walling solution formed from SFS to support glazing and rendered elements that would form the external skin of the façade. Metsec’s solution included the use of fixing cleats to connect the SFS continuous walling to the structure’s concrete frame.

Value for money solution for a client who suffers from chronic asthma, mitigating against the future risk of damp, mould & condensation.

Tamworth based fabricators Window and Door Maintenance Services have completed phase two of the development of Ashlawn School based in Rugby. The extension of the Expressive Arts Centre provides a new centre for students and teachers to collaborate on creative projects in state-of-the-art facilities. Kestrel Aluminium System’s products specified included both thermal and non-thermal ground floor treatment, commercial doors and the 60mm window suite.

Patshull Activity Centre, a volunteer run Scout campsite that has played host to tens of thousands of children across the Black Country, South Staffordshire, and Shropshire since before the First World War has undergone a comprehensive renovation and redevelopment. The renovation required the replacement of the existing windows and doors for new Kestrel Aluminium units with high thermal and acoustic performance whilst maintaining the essential character of the buildings.

Transforming the Jersey seafront with a touch of splendour, the Reynaers systems utilised include CW 86 and CW 50 curtain walling, as well as CS 68 and CS 77 aluminium windows and doors. The project also spectacularly showcases our CS 68 and CS 77 aluminium windows and doors, helping the build to achieve its BREEAM status with their excellent performance credentials and sustainability benefits.

TSL secured the contract to install the rainscreen façade at Colbourne Place, a prestigious apartment block in Woking. To create the structural aluminium framework for the substructure, helping hand brackets were used, with the framework being secured with DrillFast A2/304 stainless steel frame fasteners. Throughout the project, a Kanban (just in time) delivery model was utilised, supplying the fixings for each of the four elevations as TSL began that phase of construction."When we are working on a façade project we aim to install one elevation at a time; it is therefore important that our supplier can be flexible delivering the right components for the façade fixing system when we need it. Four residential blocks on Albert Road, North London, have recently undergone renovation, including removal of wooden screen shutters across the frontage of each apartment. The sliding shutters create an attractive appearance as well as performing shade from direct sunlight, but over recent years the wood has warped and deteriorated. Warping meant that the screens no longer travelled smoothly across the windows, and deterioration was causing the louvres to loosen with the danger that they might fall on people walking below. A refurbishment would also provide the opportunity to refit with materials conforming to current fire safety regulations. Considering the refurbishment, the developers were keen to retain the screens and felt that the appearance of wood was appealing, giving the apartments something of a continental appeal, albeit in north London. The blocks were developed and are managed by L&Q, a housing association that aims to deliver high quality affordable homes, and in their own words ‘better places to live’. The screens could easily be replaced using aluminium for the frame aerofoil blades and the look of wood could just as easily be delivered by using a shade from our Wood Finish (PWF™) range. PWF30, a dark shade, was closest to the original wood. In total Powdertech pre-treated and coated 9500 linear metres of extruded aluminium, each individual foil being 1.22m in length. Using aluminium brings the obvious benefits of strength combined with lightweight. The screens will not warp and need only minimal maintenance. Our Wood Finish conforms to the required reaction to fire specification for residential buildings of this type, A2-s1, d0, and the metal itself is non-combustible thus solving a number of issues in one, Wood Finish on aluminium is a winning combination.

The project design included a car park solar shading system from Contrasol Ltd. The extruded aluminium profiles form feature solar shading ‘fins’ running vertically on the exterior of the multi-story car park, with galvanized steel plates behind the fins at each floor level to screen car headlights. By using Powdertech’s PWF 020 Wood Finish on the metal the large building could be brought into harmony with its environment, being less visible in the landscape. Unlike wood, PWF will not deteriorate or warp. It is also a benefit for the installer to be working with a homogenous material with good dimensional stability. The colour and gloss retention for Wood Finish is excellent and it will remain looking good for over 25 years with minimal maintenance required. Llanelli based Atcost Windows (Wales) Ltd won the contract to manufacture and install the glazing for the redevelopment of Oriel in Port Talbot. This striking development has provided 41 new affordable energy efficient homes situated above retail shops in the heart of the town centre. Kestrel Aluminium Systems worked closely with Atcost to ensure the successful delivery of their part of the re-development project. The contract saw the installation of the Kestrel’s 60mm window system, low rise curtain wall system and thermal commercial doors.

Contemporary Glass Structures were selected to manufacture and install a flush glazed mirror door into a 4th-floor terrace glass façade as part of extensive renovations of a commercial office building in the heart of Manchester’s professional district. Drawing on their experience in the fenestration industry Contemporary offered a bespoke solution and specified the Kestrel Aluminium residential door system as the base for the project.

Onyx Apartments is an 11-storey building located on the Regent’s Canal banks, offering 117 bespoke homes. The development was designed as a modern, elegant and professional living environment. Comfort and safety were top priorities in bringing this project to life and Reynaers products were used to realise those aims. The Goldsmith Avenue project is among the first in the UK to benefit from the A1 fire rating of the system, as well as its modern aesthetic and long-term durability.

Devils Pit Farm is a detached farmhouse and is situated in the Blackdown Hills, an area of natural beauty near Taunton.The client had been experiencing problems with the existing uPVC gutter – it had begun to fail, and the joints had separated, which led to dampness creeping into the building, causing damage to the paintwork.The client was impressed after Mike from Simply Seamless Guttering (SSG) demonstrated the Mustang® Aluminium Seamless Gutter Machine.Mike from SSG visited the property to measure up and provide a quotation to replace the whole system, including aluminium downpipes. This was accepted, and shortly after, SSG installed the new rainwater system on-site.Mustang® Aluminium Seamless Guttering is a unique joint-less system and is the only seamless gutter system approved by the British Board of Agrément (BBA).Mustang gutters are roll-formed on-site in lengths of up to 30 metres with no joints, meaning no leaks, creating a neat, maintenance-free product of the highest quality that adds extra visual appeal with the additional peace of mind a premium product has been fitted. The former Gaumont Palace Theatre, a grade II listed building had been given a second life to become the Ellen Terry building for Coventry University. Kestrel Aluminium together with HTL Windows and Doors took on the project to give the building a fresh look and combine the historic style with the modern touch. As the building is a remembrance from the golden age of cinema the vital part was to create an elegant run of doors which matched the original façade using modern, thermally broken commercial entrance doors.

GRP End of Platform Steps | Case StudyContractor AmcoGiffen selected Dura Composites to design and fabricate 6 sets of GRP End of Platform Steps for Kings Cross Station in London, which were installed by Amco in a very short time frame to meet the needs of the tight project timescales. Weighing up to 80% less than steel and 30% less than aluminium, Dura Composites End of Platform Steps offer equivalent performance for considerably less weight. This results in major savings including lower installation costs due to more economical transportation, handling and on-site positioning.The client was delighted with the quality of the design and workmanship and with Dura’s ability to turn the fabrications around in such a short space of time, describing the structures as having “gone in like a dream”. As well as fully fabricated non-corrosive and non-conductive single unit GRP end of platform steps Dura Composites can also supply in component or flat pack kit form ready for quick assembly on-site.

ARP manufactured a bespoke version of its Legacy heritage-style cast aluminium guttering for a unique house in Yorkshire.Oaklands, built by Cohesion Construction Services, is an entirely round house with an interior core, an outdoor dining area and a fire pit. The unique design presented ARP with a challenge to produce guttering for both the internal and external curved roofline. Following a complete site survey, ARP designed the radius guttering as a bespoke one-off within a tight four-week timeframe. Our team designed a bespoke rainwater system based on our Legacy cast aluminium guttering system, to the exact slate grey colour specified (RAL7015) with a fine finish to add texture. A bespoke mould was created as well as several samples to ensure a perfect fit. This was achieved on the first attempt to within a 2mm tolerance for the full radius, internal and external.Legacy cast aluminium gutters combine modern manufacturing techniques and materials with traditional style and durability. Manufactured using traditional castings as a perfect alternative to cast iron gutters, even on conservation, heritage and listed properties, the Legacy range is produced in five profiles and many sizes to replicate traditional cast iron profiles. During its long 40+ year lifespan, ARP Legacy gutter systems require little or no maintenance.Despite its striking modern design, the client nevertheless wanted to achieve a traditional style for the new-build property. Legacy guttering was matched with our Colonnade circular cast collared aluminium rainwater pipes, giving the house exterior a traditional design twist whilst retaining its modern aesthetic.“This has certainly been a very interesting and challenging project, with hardly a straight line or corner on the whole project,” says Giles White, MD of Cohesion Construction Services. “I have worked with ARP many times as my go-to roofline supplier, and I knew they could rise to the challenge of producing this radiused guttering. Tucked away on the outskirts of Brigg, Lincolnshire, Scawby Brook is a carbon neutral, sustainable house that has been sensitively created for modern living and to complement the surrounding wooded setting. The home has featured on self-build TV show, Grand Designs.Designed by local architect Kate Kelly, the connection of the dwelling with nature was a key focus of the client's brief with the house featuring an abundance of glazing to refl­ect the natural environment and provide the best possible views of the rural landscape.A local project manager, Mike Hill was employed to deliver the project and source materials and labour from the local area. Mike specified Kestrel Aluminium window and door systems to provide a complete glazing solution for the project based on previous experience and the knowledge that this would oer the best solution in terms of the quality and budget demanded by the client.The multiple windows are a mixture of fixed or opening vents, with multi-point espagnolette locking PAS24 compliant security. Used in conjunction with low U-value double-glazed units achieving a U-Value of 1.2 W/m2K they ensure the building is safe, secure and energy efficient.

Gloucester’s dock area today provides a vibrant retail, leisure and residential district. The transformation of the derelict dock area started in 2009. As part of the multi-million pound redevelopment, known as Gloucester Quays, Tata Steel has supplied a wide range of its building envelope products to build the Morrisons supermarket.A solution incorporating Tata Steel’s Trisomet® and Trimapanel® insulated roof and wall cladding systems was chosen to build the Gloucester Quay’s supermarket for Wm Morrisons.Close involvement with the cladding contractor helped to deliver the robust detailing criteria and the air-tightness requirements. Longer length Trisomet® insulated panels supplied with Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® were installed on the roof area to reduce end laps and increase the speed of the installation, and for the wall elevations a combination of Trisomet® and Trimapanel® insulated panels were supplied manufactured from Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® pre-finished steel.
