Specialist drawers and inserts were also made to securely hold tools.Using HPL for sanitaryware in a clinical environment means all the furniture can be cleaned regularly and thoroughly with almost any cleaning agents and suspended dispensers reduce touch points to reduce the risk of cross contamination.

Four residential blocks on Albert Road, North London, have recently undergone renovation, including removal of wooden screen shutters across the frontage of each apartment. The sliding shutters create an attractive appearance as well as performing shade from direct sunlight, but over recent years the wood has warped and deteriorated. Warping meant that the screens no longer travelled smoothly across the windows, and deterioration was causing the louvres to loosen with the danger that they might fall on people walking below. A refurbishment would also provide the opportunity to refit with materials conforming to current fire safety regulations. Considering the refurbishment, the developers were keen to retain the screens and felt that the appearance of wood was appealing, giving the apartments something of a continental appeal, albeit in north London. The blocks were developed and are managed by L&Q, a housing association that aims to deliver high quality affordable homes, and in their own words ‘better places to live’. The screens could easily be replaced using aluminium for the frame aerofoil blades and the look of wood could just as easily be delivered by using a shade from our Wood Finish (PWF™) range. PWF30, a dark shade, was closest to the original wood. In total Powdertech pre-treated and coated 9500 linear metres of extruded aluminium, each individual foil being 1.22m in length. Using aluminium brings the obvious benefits of strength combined with lightweight. The screens will not warp and need only minimal maintenance. Our Wood Finish conforms to the required reaction to fire specification for residential buildings of this type, A2-s1, d0, and the metal itself is non-combustible thus solving a number of issues in one, Wood Finish on aluminium is a winning combination.

Working alongside our clients Willmott Dixon Interiors Ltd, GDL were appointed to manufacture and supply the Acoustic Louvres and the Clip-on Louvre screening as part of the 23 hour assessment and A&E refurbishment. Our acoustic Louvres are designed to attenuate medium and high frequency noise breakouts from ductwork and plant room openings and were selected for the existing plant area along Pond Street. This product can be manufactured to suit any bespoke size requirements and is available in single bank or for higher levels of attenuation, double bank.  Our Louvre screening can be located at basement, ground, mid or roof level and can be fixed in a conventional 45º angle or inverted depending on the privacy requirements of the designers and architects. GEC Anderson were chosen to supply stainless steel classroom worktops, drinking fountains as well as fabrications for the main school kitchen.Classroom worktops have integrated sink bowls and are mounted on wall hung stainless steel base cabinets, also by GEC Anderson. The cantilever arrangement allows for uninterrupted floor cleaning and easier working and access to the sink units. It also facilitates the ability to mount the worktops at the height appropriate for pupils. GB4000 wall hung drinking fountains were specified in the corridor areas. The units can be mounted at any height to ensure access for the children. Within the main kitchen, sinks and and worktops include leg frames with solid undershelves in order to maximise the limited space available.Brushed satin stainless steel (EN 1.4301 grade) was used throughout.

Pioneer Square is a mixed use retail and leisure development in the the heart of Bicester in Oxfordshire, anchored by a Sainsbury’s superstore and including a 7-screen cinema, offices, library and hotel.As a regeneration project within the city centre, it included a 526 space car park over two levels. Lang+Fulton supplied 134 panels of Terra-34 open mesh grating to act as a security barrier over an area of 1010m2. In addition, 85 panels of Italia-100 louvres in various dimensions were supplied to cover an area of 231m2 which required visual screening.

The Dairy is a retirement Living Plus development built in 2017 for people over the age of 70. Providing both one and two bedroom apartments, each apartment has a fully fitted kitchen, underfloor heating, fitted and tiled shower room with level access shower and a 24 hour emergency call system. Assured passive fire protection for a spectacular central atrium in Dublin city centre’s largest and most prestigious new commercial development has been provided by over 300m2 of Promat SYSTEMGLAS® Ferro. The system was selected thanks to its 360 degree ‘wheel of assurance’, which ensures all the fire resistant glazing screens are checked for compliance at every stage from design and specification, through manufacture and installation. The proven butt-jointed, steel framed fire resistant glazing system has been used to create all the glass screens which encapsulate the atrium at the heart of No. 1 Dublin Landings.

Situated next to Westfield shopping centre and adjacent to the Olympic Park in Stratford, the Moxy Hotel is the first UK hotel from the Marriott Hotels’ budget brand which was open to the public in October 2017. The works onsite began in February of the same year to deliver extensive work to the hotel façade. The external finish of the hotel was considered to be of particular importance by London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and was particularly challenging. As screening on top of the building, it was decided to install the DucoSun 100 C-shaped louvre blades. The screening is ideal for concealing technical areas, thus ensuring a perfect transition with the rest of the façade of this ultra-modern contemporary hotel.

Logan Hall is an auditorium at the University College London. It is a venue based in the famous 20 Bedford Way building, and is used for various events such as award ceremonies, film screenings and conferences.

Deny’s Holland House, located in London’s Camden Road was the subject of a recent and total refurbishment by specialist contractor, ITC Concepts.Within the specification were stainless steel worktops to a total of 13 kitchens. Each kitchen is designated for shared use by student occupants of the various apartments. As such, the need for a durable, safe and hygienic facilities lead to the specification of seamless worktops with integrated sinks and anti-drip edge profiles. GEC Anderson were able to produce the prescribed configurations and detailing that were called for. Situated on Millbank in London, Tate Britain is a tourist hotspotdedicated to the finest British art dating back to the 16th century.The site originally housed the Millbank prison which was the maindeparture point for criminals being sent to Australia. Following thedemolition of the prison, the National Gallery of British Art (Tate Britainas of 2000) was opened in 1897 by Sir Henry Tate, making it the firstof the four Tate galleries.The building has gone through numerous renovations since it’s 19thcentury opening. In 1987, the Clore gallery was opened and wenton to win a Royal Institute of Architects award the following year.More recently in 2006, Caruso St. John architects began a long termdevelopment and renovation project which aimed to create ninenew galleries. The redevelopment featured a number of differentrenovations spanning seven years, whereby Allgood were chosento supply an Ironmongery and an access control solution in the newgalleries.Working on such a prestigious project, it was evident that aestheticswere of paramount importance. The architect desired a unique finishon items, so Allgood worked closely to produce a shot peened finishon some of the stainless steel furniture. To create a clean aestheticon doors which required push plates and signage, Allgood createdan all in one solution by shot peening stainless steel plates, blankingoff areas to create contrasting areasfor signage to be screen printedwithin.Many doors within the gallery space were of traditional archeddesign which caused a challenge on fire doors with self-closingrequirements. Allgood’s solution to this issue was to specify floorsprings combined with projection hinges to provide a specificationthat would self-close in conjunction with the door geometry.Furthermore, to minimise the aesthetic impact of the floor springs,bespoke tile trays with access holes were created to conceal thefloor springs whilst providing easy access for floor spring adjustment.This provided an aesthetically pleasing solution for a very technicalapplication.Having previously worked with the museum on their Mantonshop, Allgoodwere well prepared for this project and the existingrelationship enabled a smooth operation that was completed on timeand within budget.

Radii joined this fit out in late 2023, where we worked on the design, supply and install of of a tailored glazed partition package for 28 office and meeting rooms.On Level 2, our team designed and installed a stunning Glide framed glazed screen into quad telescopic track between the reception and adjoining communal area.Large meeting rooms on Levels 2 and 4 comprised Parallel 100 (Rw 50 dB) double glazed partitions with red and blue framework respectively; Parallel 100 and single glazed Linear 30 variation screens with bronze and grey frames were utilised elsewhere in the space depending on acoustic requirements. All aluminium was finished in Radii’s dedicated in-house PPC line, with the bronze finish also used on aluminium faced tech panels. Partitions were accompanied by 64mm timber veneered acoustic doors (Rw 41 dB) and double glazed pivoting Hogan doors (Rw 39 dB).Finally, Radii’s own high-performing FirePro steel-clad fire rated screens rated at E60 were installed on all three levels.

Dales designed & manufactured curved aluminium solar shading units installed above digital advertising screens positioned over each side of the Hyde Park Corner underpass near Knightsbridge. The 260mm Shadex elliptical aluminium blade extrusions were rotated 45° and then curved to multiple radii horizontally before being manufactured into cassettes. The complete structure covers an area 15 by 13 metres with the cassettes bolted into cantilevered structural steels. Gary Newton, Director for Outdoor Plus, providers of the digital screens commented that the curved solar shades: “..certainly do finish it off to a very high specification adding to the overall high-quality aesthetic appearance”
