Recticel Insulation panels supply thermal efficient fabric to spectacular ‘TV’ home

Recticel Insulation

THE PROJECT: Recticel supplied the high-performance thermal solution to transform a 100-year-old property in Moseley, Birmingham. Divided into nine apartments, in which two were refurbished to create one, two-storey home, the project caught the attention of the producers of Channel Four's Old House to New Home. Connecting a ground floor property to a flat above led to the creation of a modern and stylish home trimmed with decorative reminders of its structural origins.THE SOLUTION: Eurothane® GP, a high-performance rigid PIR foam board, was selected for the new home's pitched roof, framed wall and floor. Eurothane PL, Recticel's insulation and plasterboard solution was fitted to the property's existing, cavity-less, nine-inch exterior brick walls. The well-sized board ensures minimal thermal bridging during construction.Coupled with Eurothane® GP's 0.022W/mK low thermal conductivity, these products were crucial to attaining a good U-value rating. In total, 130m2 of Eurothane® GP and Eurothane® PL panels were installed. The homeowner, Paul explained:"As we were carrying-out most of the building work ourselves we wanted the best possible insulation for the project. Research revealed Recticel's solutions fitted the bill. Excellent thermal performance and simple to-fit, they were a far superior alternative to other insulants we considered. The panels have done so much to create a welcoming and comfortable interior environment."Used products:Eurothane® GP:Eurothane® GP is a high performance PIR insulation board that is light weight, easy to cut, handle and install. Whether it’s a pitched roof, framed wall or floor, Eurothane® GP is the ideal solution amongst contractors and installers.Eurothane® PL:Suitable for mechanical fixing or dot and dab fixing, this insulated board is consistently sized with extremely tight tolerances, ensuring thermal bridging is minimised. ASF Balmoral Parapet Wall Post and Panel, Sale Town Hall

Architectural Street Furnishings part of WB White Foundry

ASF were already doing extensive works at Sale Town Hall using the ASF Balmoral Panel Post with sight gap, employed as pedestrian guardrail. To the rear of the Town Hall is the Bridgewater Canal which is followed by the Bridgewater Way. An existing wall was being heightened alongside the footpath to make it higher than the mixed use development area directly to the rear of the building. Wishing to ensure a suitable barrier but not completely obscure the view, the client chose the ASF Balmoral Parapet Post and Panel System for the wall top. This allows people to stand on the higher ground and still enjoy the vistas along the canal whilst ensuring the wall itself reaches an overall height to meet the required standards.

Acoustic panels to solve reverberation issues in primary school hall, South West London

Acoustic panels to solve reverberation issues in primary school hall, South West London

Hush Acoustics

Hush Acoustics was tasked with transforming the acoustic conditions inside the multi-use hall and dining area at East Sheen Primary School. The headteacher and teachers were keen to solve a major issue within their hall resulting from sound reverberation, echo and high levels of ambient noise. The brief was developed so speech clarity could be improved, resulting in easier learning and a better environment for teachers and pupils.During the initial survey, the scale of the issue became apparent. A specification was then developed to address the situation in what was obviously a very noisy space during peak times and unbearable for the pupils. The solution came with Hush Absorber panels. To achieve the results required by East Sheen Primary we carried out a site inspection to calculate the amount of absorption material needed to bring the school hall reverberation times in-line with BB93 design criteria for educational buildings. The site survey involved taking measurements and detailing where any absorption panels could be installed to maintain aesthetics. From the site survey, Hush Acoustics could then calculate the level of absorption needed and provide the installation service required. All the advice provided and work carried out was fully in line with BB93 design guidance for acoustics in school and Document E of the Building Regulations. The solution provided by Hush Acoustics treated the reverberation issue extremely well and created a much better environment for teachers and pupils. The school headteacher commented, “Just wanted to say a huge thank you from us all for your work around the acoustic issues. Everyone had noticed the positive impact and assembly today was much better. The difference is massive.”

It is a joint venture between Related Argent and Barnet Council to develop a large-scale mixed-use development including new homes, retail and office space, as well as improved schools and green spaces in the area. We’re so proud to have been involved in this striking project, courtesy of our client, installers FIFTH ELEVATION LIMITED and are pleased to see that we’re living and breathing our brand message. ASF 5006 post and rail, post and panel and step handrailing, Sale Town Hall

Architectural Street Furnishings part of WB White Foundry

ASF produced the full gamut of variants for this project, all using the ASF 5006 mitred top post system to give continuity. 114mm diameter post uprights were used to offer a substantial framework for these barrier and handrail systems. Some areas needed only handrail so a single sided underslung system was provided, with wrap around end profiles offering a pleasing end point to individual sections. On the post and panel sections a 48mm diameter top rail was used in conjunction with stainless steel perforated panels. These meshed perfectly into the step units that swapped seamlessly from post mounted to wall mounted handrail.Curves, corners and steps were included on this project

Lang+Fulton

Stretto-11 grating has been incorporated into the facade at Here East, the former Olympic Broadcast Centre. Soffit and cladding panels made from Stretto-11 have been used around the central entrances of the 280-metre length of the building and within the recessed openings. The contemporary exterior, featuring a glass frontage with digitally printed ceramic frit, is punctuated by nine projecting and three recessed balconies. These break up the colossal scale of the building and introduce an intense orange accent. Lang+Fulton also supplied decking for the projecting balconies made from PL-66×11 pressure locked heel-proof grating.

Three Trees Community Centre

Excelsior Panelling Systems Ltd

The Project Renovation of the community centre has been made possible with the support of funders, volunteers, local businesses and charitable trusts.Around £1.2m has been raised to repair, refurbish and extend the building. The centre will cater for the needs of the positive, vibrant and diverse community coming through the doors. The ChallengeThe project was managed by the church and community inclusion was a key driver on this project.Parishioners, local businesses and the community on the whole are extremely proud of their roots and keen to celebrate them. The local woodland was chosen for the finish on the cubicles and photographs were taken and used to create a digital laminate. The challenge for the photographer was getting the right shot. The washroom space is actually quite small in the centre. The SolutionThe diversity of the community enabled the centre to be creative when designing the washrooms and drawing on the beauty of the local area they decided to install not only a Grade A system but chose a serene digital print which is both innovative and thought provoking. The inspired woodland theme has created a taking point amongst the patrons and is admired and loved by all.Feedback from the client:“It's also worth a day out just to visit our toilets, after decades of nastiness we are proud to have the finest toilets for miles around! We love them loos!”SpecificationProduct Range: Flush 44 HPLDoors: Digital Print HPLPilaster: Digital Print HPLPartition: High Digital Print HPLIronmongery: Stainless SteelAvailable Finishes:These Systems Are Available In The Following Finishes:Natural Wood VeneerHigh Pressure LaminateHigh Gloss Laminate
