With Vyn, he set out to create a true Scandinavian experience with a seasonal cuisine and interiors to match the surrounding landscape.

A stunning and original Armourcoat Sculptural 'Flow XL' ceiling installed at the haz Restaurant on Mincing Lane in London. Located on the ground floor of Plantation Place building, the restaurant's contemporary interior designed by brand consultancy I-AM is light and spacious with high ceilings and long glass frontage. Armourcoat Sculptural creates seamless wall surfaces with impactful designs and cast relief. Each design is created from cast GRG (Glass-fibre Reinforced Gypsum) panels, CAD generated to enable a continuous pattern or unique decorative effect.

A highly popular west-coast restaurant chain with over 30 locations in and around Vancouver, Canada required a design solution that provided them with a natural look that aligned with strict building codes. They had to find a replacement for their wood cladding that still looked great and reflected their preference for a west coast aesthetic but also aligned with strict non-combustibility requirements on all their buildings. We worked with the architects to determine a design solution and now our product can be seen on several of the Cactus Club locations.

Amtico Signature brought a high quality style solution to a new 300-seater restaurant. The diverse colours, textures and shapes made it the obvious choice for adding a touch of unique flavour. Five design types were brought together to achieve the individual look.

The UK’s first Palm Restaurant opened in Belgravia, London. Specialists in interior refurbishment, Fileturn Contractors fitted 5 of Howe Green’s 5000 Series floor access covers and one of its Visedge covers. The covers were selected to provide easy access to essential building services including plumbing and electrics. The 5000 Series covers were used in the restaurant’s signature hardwood floor of the lower level private dining area while the Visedge was perfect for the flexible flooring in the basement. Excelling in cleanliness, hygiene and durability, the covers are perfect for commercial applications.

Overlooking the beach on the north coast of Cornwall, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant underwent a major refurbishment in 2013. Absolute Design took the lead on the project, with the aim of creating a more colourful and contemporary space. Inspired by a new wave of expressive art called “Pop Surrealism”, Newquay artist Ben Allen was commissioned to paint onto a blank white wall to transform the restaurant into a living work of art. The designers wanted to create an equally striking flooring installation to complement the new, bold walls, and the Tarkett Floorcraft Design team were a perfect fit.

To lay over 300 square metres of wood floors complementing the designs and finishes in four separate areas of a luxury London restaurant. Percy & Founders is a stylish and innovative new luxury restaurant and bar in the heart of Fitzrovia meeting the needs of young, affluent executives working in the area. The wood flooring was installed by HS Wood Flooring.

The "White Marmot" restaurant in the Corviglia ski area near St. Moritz combines top-class gastronomy with lifestyle. The traditional Swiss mountain restaurant, which emerged from the "La Marmite" founded in 1967, was renovated in accordance with the visionary ideas of its owner Hartly Mathis in collaboration with Ateiler Zürich and Testa Bodenbeläge.The White Marmot is divided into a lounge, bar and restaurant area. The existing natural stone floor was not satisfactory because of the poor room acoustics, the sensitivity to moisture caused by the guests' ski boots and the associated risk of slipping. The architects found in Flotex flocked flooring the better alternative. Comfort, anti-slip, easy care and durability could be guaranteed with just one floor covering. Moreover, the client and the planner were impressed by the endless design possibilities of the Flotex digital print technique. The digital printed Flotex Vision design was able to fulfil the requirments of a modern style in ambience of the 1960s and 1970s.

Breakers Beach Bar & Restaurant, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The construction of an upmarket beach bar and restaurant, Breakers Beach House, part of the Grand Hotel Huis Ter Duin. Set amongst the dunes and facing the North Sea, the building was designed to be sympathetic to the environment but required the use of materials that could withstand the elements without requiring frequent maintenance. Accoya Wood was used for windows, doors, cladding, railings, trusses, mullions and planters. “We are delighted with the end result which meets our expectations and those of our customer.” Eline van Leeuwen, Director, Van Leeuwen kozijnen.

Accoya cladding was selected by contractor Jephsons for the new KFC restaurant in Stourbridge. Along with a new Costa and McDonalds, the £5million development is the latest venture by Guernsey-based Jumbuk Ltd. After performing well with respect to stability and retained aesthetics on a KFC concept design store over the past 18 months, Accoya was chosen for the project. Finished in a Sansin coating this Accoya cladding also offers a stunning aesthetic appearance. For this project Accoya was distributed by James Latham and installed by Protec Roofing.

The urgent need for a replacement rear goods entrance at a high-turnover commercial fast-food restaurant brought our proposed comprehensive solution to address both security and functionality concerns.Recognising the critical role of a secure entrance in the restaurant’s operations, we recommended the installation of a commercial-grade steel door and frame. This robust system not only provided enhanced security but also ensured ease of use for restaurant staff, crucial for maintaining smooth workflow amid the bustling environment. Anticipating the challenges posed by the high usage typical in such establishments, we tailored the solution to withstand heavy use and abuse, including the impact of large food delivery cages. To bolster the door’s durability, we integrated a custom heavy duty pyramid bumper bar system, extending its lifespan and longevity against daily wear and tear.Moreover, to enhance security measures and streamline access control, we incorporated a digital keypad externally. This feature allowed the door to be kept closed and locked securely while granting staff convenient access from outside. Not only did this improve security protocols, but it also contributed to rodent control efforts by minimising entry points. Additionally, to impress trade visitors and further elevate the entrance experience, we introduced a modern digital video door entry system. This innovative technology provided a seamless connection between the entrance and kitchen staff, enabling real-time visual identification of visitors and ensuring efficient management of incoming deliveries and guests. By seamlessly integrating security, functionality, and modern technology, we successfully revitalised the rear goods entrance, ensuring it could meet the demands of the fast-paced restaurant environment while enhancing overall operational efficiency and security measures.

London Zoo is one of the UK’s best-known tourist attractions and the world’s oldest scientific zoo. Opened in 1838, it now houses nearly 20,000 animals. The new Terrace Restaurant by SHH architects has tripled the dining space to 700 covers. Troldtekt ceilings play a major part in helping to create an acoustically pleasant environment for the high visitor numbers. With an abundance of hard surfaces, coupled with echoes and ambient noise, it was important to find a solution which would complement the design. This has been achieved by installing Troldtekt ultrafine acoustic panels on the ceilings below the mezzanine floor.

Armourcoat have been specified throughout the VIVI restaurant, a 1960’s inspired eatery in the Centre Point building in London’s West End. VIVI promises to deliver traditional British food with an innovative twist.VIVI’s 290 cover dining room serving delicious British favourites has its interior design inspired by 1960’s colours and fabrics including a handmade chandelier by British designer Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt. The new restaurant, created by Rhubarb – the team behind Sky Garden and Verdi Italian Kitchen at the Royal Albert Hall, is part of a wider refurbishment of Richard Seifert’s celebrated Grade-II listed high-rise tower. Armourcoat finishes have been used to spectacular effect in the entrance lobby, restaurant reception, bar and dining area with close to 300m2 of hand finished Armourcoat polished plaster applied to the walls.

Armourcoat’s latest decorative surface finishes have been used to stunning effect in the recently renovated Matilda Bay Restaurant in Perth, WA.Situated right on the banks of the picturesque Swan River, with sweeping views of the city skyline, the Matilda Bay Restaurant offers fresh, local produce and modern Australian and seafood dishes with a creative twist. The restaurant and function centre have also become known as a showcase for local timber, stone and artisan craft.The vibrant new interior, created by Karlee Boucher of KADA interior design, is fresh and contemporary. Welcoming diners into the restaurant, an Armourcoat Sculptural feature wall in a ‘Flow wave’ design creates a dramatic and original design statement. The ‘wave’ design is continued with a longer wall into the dining space. Sculptural seamless contoured wall surfaces offer impactful designs with cast relief. Each signature design is created from cast GRG (Glass-fibre Reinforced Gypsum) panels, CAD generated to enable a continuous pattern or unique decorative effect.Throughout the restaurant, the use of ArmourColor Perlata architectural coatings provides a sophisticated shimmer effect and subtle backdrop to the architectural detailing. Columns within the ground floor Catalina Room have also been decorated with textured plaster in a ‘Travertine’ finish. Hand-applied by artisan craftsmen from The Polished Plaster Company, the finish creates a light open texture and gives the appearance of natural travertine stone. The Polished Plaster Company is the appointed agent and applicator of Armourcoat finishes in Western Australia. Nigel Goldsmith, Managing Director commented, “The specification of these modern decorative finishes; echo the local crafts, with their ancient roots and skilled application. The new Sculptural finish is also right on trend, tapping into current designs using 3D forms”. The Polished Plaster Company is pleased to present their Armourcoat showroom in nearby O’Connor, which can be viewed by appointment. The Ivy Collection, a select group of upmarket restaurants, brasseries and cafes, has recently opened its latest restaurant – The Ivy in the Park, in Canada Square Park – London. The creative design was able to successfully combine quality with sustainability with the specification of world-leading, high-performance sustainable wood, Accoya throughout the striking new build.

An award-winning restaurant serving sustainable and ethical Japanese cuisine, has added a large outdoor terrace for diners to enjoy using a WoodBlocX seating and planter combination.The owners of MOSHIMO Brighton added the sun terrace to the already architecturally pleasing, modernist building, to provide an indoor/outdoor dining experience, with functional sliding screens that separate the two spaces depending on the weather and decorative evergreen planting around the edge of the dining area.We created a bespoke design which fitted perfectly into the deck space available. With bespoke seating featuring a planter border wrapping around the main seating area and one additional U-shaped planter disconnected from the main structure to provide two access points to the deck.The completed design was then painted in the restaurant’s deep charcoal brand colour to match the interior and exterior design. This dark shade is balanced perfectly with the bright red dining tables and chairs. The central dining area, Blossoms Restaurant, alongside Blossoms Bar and Terrace serves refined international cuisine, making it one of the best places to eat in Rutland.Brief:The hotel owners instructed an extensive refurbishment of the hotel’s dining, public areas and bedrooms. The first part of the hotel to be relaunched was Blossoms Restaurant Bar & Terrace. Working with furniture suppliers, Contract Furniture Group and interior designers, Curveline Design, scheme boards were created incorporating Skopos fabrics for the upholstery, voiles and blinds to create an elegant and stylish area of the hotel, reflective of Rutland Hall’s stunning location.Outcome:Palmyra Oceanic, a bold statement print from The Silk Roads collection, was chosen for dining chairs and booth seating. Matt velvet Bonita upholstery fabric was also used for contrasting dining chairs. Plain bright colourways, Amarillo and Turquoise, were selected to co-ordinate perfectly with the tones included in the print.Roman blinds in the restaurant also used the same Palmyra print. The sunny south facing windows required each blind to be blackout lined. Mystic Monsoon voile from the Zephyr collection was installed at each window on a wave headed track to take advantage of the evening sun and reflect golden tones into the room.Lounge chairs in the private dining area were upholstered in Cadiz metallic herringbone velvet, from the La Feria collection. Assorted colours in Aquarius, Lava and Forest created a relaxed eclectic feel.Skopos specialist fitters completed the track, blind and voile curtain installation.

The Genesis NTEX range is an Aluminium Nosing with Carborundum filled inserts that make it extremely durable and suitable for all conditions. The range is available in any array of widths and carborundum infill colours. Its exterior capabilities and anti-slip properties along with the required 222mm width made the NTEX294 a perfect choice of Carluccio’s restaurant and the Contracts team at Multiflor Co Ltd who completed the installation in a busy Central London location.

Stopgap 800 wearcoat has been used to create a visually striking floor finish at a new organic meat restaurant in South London. First, contractors lifted the old wood floorcoverings to ensure it was suitably sound, smooth, and dry. To guard against excess subfloor moisture, contractors applied Stopgap F77 waterproof surface membrane to isolate excess subfloor moisture. Stopgap 800 Wearcoat was then applied over the entire subfloor. Stopgap 800 was selected due to its capabilities when it comes to upgrading and renovating new and existing internal floors, where floorcoverings are not required to be installed, making it perfect for this project.

Appointed Simple Simon Design and Bath Contract Flooring Ltd to undertake its latest refit project in the heart of Bristol’s bustling Harbourside. With the floor design being an integral part of the concept, it’s no surprise it’s being talked about as much as Aqua’s modern Anglo-Italian cuisine.

This high class restaurant chain wanted to retain a classic dining experience and provide a haven for those who appreciated the traditional eating atmosphere. We installed a pole for the exclusive dining room and also the curved net curtain rails running along the windows, all in Antique Brass. A perfect finish for period interiors.

The project brief demanded a cost effective, flexible and adaptable solution to effectively divide the restaurant floor area – creating two zones within the large space. Our Flexirol Multdirectional hardware was identified as the best product to fulfill the project brief. Local refurbishment experts, House Mobel Decoracion, took full advantage of the hardware in order to best meet the restaurant owner’s demand for aesthetic and practical appeal. The client required a solution that would enable the efficient use of the restaurant floor space, making it bigger or smaller depending on the amount of guests.

Gary Lambert of Broadstairs-based Complete Roofing chose Rhepanol fk single ply membrane to waterproof the 690 m2 two-tier curved roof of celebrity restaurant Rock Salt, which overlooks Folkestone harbour.
