The project undertaken by EJM refrigeration, involved improving its energy efficiency and carbon footprint with the installation of a new CO2 refrigeration system.The two Eiger Doors will enhance operational efficiency in the high-demand environment and will maintain consistent freezer temperatures, while ensuring unimpeded access to cold stores.Since its launch in 2002, the Eiger Door has been installed as a fast-access traffic door at major food retailers, 3PL cold storage and distribution, and frozen food manufacturers across the UK.The Eiger Door ensures that consistent temperatures can be maintained and features an innovative dehumidification system, which prevents snow and ice build-up on the door blade and frame. This feature tackles a consistent issue plaguing other door types, as the freezer encounters humid ambient air entering the cold store.Minimising downtime is also supported by the Eiger Door’s robust construction and its tried and tested crash-out and reset system. EverEdge ProEdge was used to create borders, pathways and to provide an edge between lawn and driveway at this property in Chailey, Sussex. The 100mm deep ProEdge border addition, with perfectly straight edges and perfect right angles, frames the house and will keep neat lines for years to come. Lengthy pathways installed from drive to patio and then patio through to established gardens keeping gravel and grass separate.ProEdge was chosen because of its thickness (2.5mm steel) and length (2.5m) as this was a large install on varying ground. Large scale Aquacrete lining installation to an underground swimming pool in a private house in London.120m2 of Aquacrete cement and quartz waterproof lining in Misty White colour was hand applied and then polished over existing mosaic tiles.

The cradles were loose laid, laser levelled and a WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) Decking was installed on top.The size of the project was 250m2 and cradles were easily adjusted to achieve a finished height of 120mm. A small farm cottage in a Cornish Village has been transformed with a stunning large modern extension and balcony.The team of Camel Glass installers have been heavily involved in this home with the installation of windows, doors and the glass balustrade. This home is situated on the grounds of an old quarry, with views over the valley towards an engine house. The customers wanted to be able to enjoy their view to the maximum and using glass balustrade provides a safe and solid railing. This home is highlighted throughout with copper oxide furnishings, the front door and elements of the kitchen follow this theme while the sink splash back is made from glass petals in a beautiful glass meadow scene. The balcony glass was the last outside job to be done, having to wait for the kitchen counter to be installed through the French doors it was safer to install the glass after this had been carried over the balcony. Now that winter is coming the indoor jobs can be finished off and the home owners can enjoy their newly renovated home! This installer has used POSIglaze base-fix in black. Balcony Seal® has also been used to ensure water can run off the balcony under the channel without causing water ingress. Most balconies and flat roofs are built with a slight pitch to encourage rainwater to drain towards the edge of the roof. In these cases, the balustrade installer needs to allow for drainage points under the channel, to avoid water pooling around the edge of it. The Balcony Seal® system works by subtly raising the channel a few millimeters above the substrate on drain blocks. Notches on the top side of the drain blocks locate into the rebates of the POSIglaze channel, locking it into position before the system is bolt-fixed to the substrate through each block. 

HAUSER is a traditional supplier of turnkey refrigeration systems, for example in the form of refrigerated shelves, counters and freezer cabinets. Besides its headquarters inLinz, Austria, the company also operates a plant in Budweis, Czech Republic. An office building was equipped with ceiling and floor systems from Lindner. In cooperation with the local partner Konstruktis Delta s. r. o., Lindner Plafotherm® DS 320 Type 1 metal ceilings with integrated heating and cooling functions were supplied. With regard to the floor systems, LIGNA and NORTEC raised floors were used.

EverEdge Custom and EverEdge Planters were specified to be installed on this prestigious new design by London Square at Streatham Hill. We worked closely with Kington Landscape Group to provide custom designed products for this residential courtyard garden in London. Kingston Landscape Group have gone on to win multiple awards for the build, including the much sought after APL Award, Supreme Winner. The APL judges commented, “A comprehensive landscape treatment with a creative use of planters, Corten steel and beautiful soft landscaping. The composition of the space made it feel like a number of smaller gardens which could be enjoyed by the residents and offered inspiration.”

We were delighted to be awarded the tender to complete playground upgrades for Cowbridge and Llanblethian Town Council, in Wales. We installed a new multipaly with a slide, fireman’s pole and a variety of climbing, two new springers, and a basket swing and standard swing. Associated surfacing works, including ground works and new wet pour rubber, were completed at the same time. The council were delighted with the works, giving the park a much needed face lift.

We were delighted to complete this project for Worthing district council in Sussex, in the summer of 2023. Showcasing our Spiel Bau range of equipment, we installed a beautiful stainless steel multiplay structure, and stainless steel aerial runway. Fun colour combine with excellent play features, with the Mikado tower’s nets, slides, climbing walls and bridges giving children hours of endless fun. We surfaced the area with black with blue fleck wet pour rubber flooring. 

In January, Gypsol HTC screed was installed to the ground floors of a new self-build home in North Lincolnshire, UK.The four bedroom, self-build, detached home saw 160 square metres of Gypsol Anhydrite Screed installed by Z K Flow Screed. The floor screed was designed to be placed over underfloor heating, with a depth ranging from 40 – 70mm. It was produced by Ever Readymix in Sandtoft and the pour completed in one day.

We were commissioned by Llangors Community Council to design a new playground for their village, and installed this in two phases over 2022 and 2023. The centrepiece of the area comprised of a fantastic multiplay activity tower from Kaiser Kuhne. This glue laminate hardwood structure comes with a 30 year structural guarantee, and provides an exciting range of activities. New swings, a toddler multiplay, adventure trail, overhead rotator, two springers, and new play panels were also installed to give excellent options for all ages and abilities.

Project: Manufacture and installation of external GAP cladding panels using hidden fixings and chemical anchoring. Client: Stuart Forbes Associates Materials used: Bespoke size external GRC cladding panels in Rough Mist finish, treated with hydrophobic agent and clear sealant. This exciting new refurbishment project of a private house in Wimbledon, London brought with it plenty of manufacturing and installation challenges! The designers’ vision called for 2m x 1.2m large format GAP panels with mitred edges to be seamlessly wrapped around the building. The panels had to be millimetre perfect to avoid any cutting on site.

We were very pleased to complete the playground refurbishments for Plaistow and Ifold Parish Council, a beautiful village in Sussex. Given the rural setting, a natural theming to the equipment and surfacing was required, with no garish colours. The centrepiece of the new area was the Spell Hill multiplay climbing frame unit, with two tall slides, two towers and a connecting, inclined rope bridge. A new toddler slide unit was incorporated into the scheme, along with a basket swing, and small rotator.All modern playgrounds need a zip wire, something that often sees queues of children waiting to have a god in the first months after installation. Our ramp take off cableway added an exhilarating twist to the area for adventurous children of all ages.TigerMulch surfacing was used for the main area, whilst the zip wire was surfaced in rubberised grass mats.A big thanks to the village for commissioning us to carry out the works – happy playing!

Dura Grating Riser Installation | Case StudyShard Place is the third phase of the £3.5 billion redevelopment of the estate next to London Bridge station, known as Shard Quarter. Reinforced concrete frame and groundwork specialists Getjar were appointed as the formwork contractor by the principal contractor Mace and chose the Dura Composites Riser Install team to take on some of the complex install challenges of the service risers.Dura’s unrivalled expertise and full install capabilities meant they could deliver a bespoke solution for a large triangular shaped riser on all 26 storeys that required the use of galvanized steel supports and bracketing in conjunction with GRP Dura Grating to allow for cutouts to be performed whilst maintaining the integrity of the riser.

We designed, supplied, installed, and surfaced this new playground in East London, with the project completing in December 2023. The customer was looking for strong, durable, and attractive looking equipment, and our stainless steel range from Spiel Bau was perfect for the requirement. Spiel Bau equipment comes with lifetime guarantees on stainless steel elements, and has been designed to provide excitement and challenge for children of all ages.The centrepiece unit, the Beeskow multiplay, features two decks linked by an inclined rope bridge, monkey bars, a fireman’s pole, traditional slide, rail slide, and an overhanging climbing wall. The stainless steel uprights combined with hardwood robinia decking and panelling gives a beautiful, architectural finish. The large size and wide variety of play features ensures a high number of children can use the structure at any one time, making it a great piece for parks in high use areas such as this.The multiplay was complimented by two stainless steel climbing frames, the first a crow’s nest look out tower and the second an linear, obstacle course style structure. A stainless steel rope end swing, Stainless Steel seesaw, Zip Wire, and two springers rounded off the equipment, all of which was surfaced by our inhouse surfacing teams with black and green fleck wet pour rubber. We loved working on this project, introducing high quality equipment and surfacing to a park in much need of redevelopment.

In preparation for the 2012 Olympics, where over 10,000 athletes from more than 200 countries competed in London, Zaun developed a walkway system that would enable technicians to work safely at height to install fencing as well as attach CCTV and security enhancements to the highest parts of the fencing.Project ChallengesThe project required a range of unique and innovative solutions because of the varied challenges that were in play. The system needed to adhere to strict health and safety regulations, especially as working at heights has many potential dangers, and worker safety is a huge priority. We needed to create a cost-effective solution that installers could use in various venues and areas.We also needed to ensure that this walkway system did not damage the 358 mesh. The walkway also needed to facilitate the repair and installation of Perimeter Intrusion Detection (PID) and pulse-monitored electric fencing systems and razor wire. As such, it was essential that installers could easily and safely access materials, equipment and tools.Biggest Sporting Event In The WorldAs the Olympics is one of the biggest events in the world, global attention was on London and the various venues needed to be as secure as possible. From camera operators and athletes to volunteers and security personnel, the huge number of people involved in the Olympics meant that the security team needed to be able to see as much as possible at all times. To do this, it was best to put the security monitoring equipment along the fence line to survey the whole area and reduce the requirement for additional civils for CCTV cameras. Security measures during big events like the Olympics need to be incredibly stringent. The installation of these surveillance and security measures is of utmost importance to the security of the entire event.Innovative Walkway SystemZaun designed and manufactured a unique walkway system that allowed installers to work at heights safely without damaging the mesh fencing. Our innovative system was designed specifically to support the installation and maintenance of 358 security mesh fencing, CCTV cameras and electric fencing at the top of the fence line. We created an innovative walkway solution that easily attached to 358 mesh so technicians could check and access the security measures whilst safely working at height.

Privacy glass on a balcony is becoming a more frequent request. This installation by AC Fabrications in Cornwall on a domestic property perfectly displays how a glass privacy screen can be used. The partially frosted glass increases privacy for those on the balcony, people at ground level will not be able to see them. The non-frosted section allows the residents to enjoy their view from the privacy of their balcony. Taller glass on one side extends the privacy even more, and also will act as a windbreak. Frameless glass balustrade is often used as a windbreak on balconies, the solid pane of glass protecting those on the balcony. The installer has used POSIglaze base fit Silver brushed channel. Designed to provide the greatest possible adjustment opportunities, this system enables each panel to be perfectly aligned during, or even after, installation. POSIglaze is the perfect choice for residential to light commercial installations where up to 1.5kN frameless glass balustrade is required. This innovative patented and market leading screw-clamp technology locks glass panels into position effortlessly, with four immobilising fasteners per meter of channel. 

The Ascent Aluminium companionway / ships ladder system was specified to create a permanent safe access route to the roof of refrigeration units within Aldi stores for maintenance personnel. A companionway was chosen as it is deemed preferable to a vertical ladder where frequent access is required. The ladder designed in accordance with BS 4211:2005 + A1 2008 was manufactured in accordance with CE 1090 factory production control procedures. The ladders have been installed within around 700 stores across the UK.

Its smooth finish makes it ideal for a modern, minimalist design that can be easily combined with materials like wood and ceramic.

We were excited to start on this project for EBMS at a school in North London, and the finished scheme look fantastic upon completion. A large motoric track multiplay acted as the centrepiece for the area. This structure contains an enormous amount of play features, with two tall slides, net play, bridges, fireman’s poles, climbing tracks, monkey bars, and much, much more!Along with the centrepiece, three new sets of swings were installed, with a basket swing and two sets of flats swings, together with a challenging trim trail. A Stork’s nest climbing frame complete with new wet pour surfacing and ground works finished the project, with the kids at the school chomping at the bit to start playing.

The sports club is a regular host of Scotland cricket international matches as well as hosting hockey, squash and tennis. Neil and the senior groundsman had noticed a couple of issues surfacing on a large grassed area of the club which was occasionally used as an access route, vehicular parking and servicing of the ground during big cricket matches and other events. We look at how TurfMesh worked for The Grange while causing minimal effects to the aesthetics of this beautiful sports ground.Knowing that to improve the situation, the club would need to invest in an efficient grass reinforcement solution, Neil and the senior groundsman began researching grass reinforcement products which soon led them to our website and our range of TurfMesh products, in particular TurfMesh 1800 – our thickest turf mesh variant.They both read up on the meshes many benefits including its ability to withstand the weight of cars and lorries as well as being very easy to install using just u-pins whilst protecting the root of the grass. Impressed by its capabilities and discreetness once the grass below has grown, over 1000m² of the TM1800 was ordered along with enough U-Pins to secure the mesh into the ground which was dispatched the next working day and delivered to the club via pallet delivery just a few days later.With the TurfMesh and u-pins at the sports club, the senior groundsman and his team could begin installing their new grass reinforcement mesh on to the prior planned area. TurfMesh is a simple product to install, simply unroll the mesh and position over the area you want to cover. To secure the mesh, evenly space and use two u-pins per. Repeat the process of unroll and secure until the entire area has been covered. The team followed this procedure which they found to be simple and effective. With the mesh secure, the groundsman then decided to dress the top of the TurfMesh with sand to compact the area further. All that was left to do after was wait for the grass below to grow through and disguise the mesh to give them a strong and natural looking surface!Neil and the groundsmen that worked with the TurfMesh are very pleased with the results and how it has performed. Neil told us:“As you can see the grass has grown in very well at this end. In this case study, we take a look at the amazing project undertaken by Allium Landscapes, as they were tasked by their clients with converting a garden into a haven of safe play for their young children. The objective was clear: create a secure play area that encourages imaginative play without compromising on safety.To achieve this goal, Allium began researching to identify the most suitable safety surfacing option to install beneath a wooden climbing frame and slide. After detailed research and discussions with their clients, they arrived at the decision that a wet pour rubber surface would be the most suitable solution, blending safety and aesthetics seamlessly. They opted for this superb rubber surfacing solution to ensure;Reduced risk of injuries: The top priority was to reduce the risk of fall-related injuries and wet pour rubber safety surfacing was deemed the ideal choice for this purpose.Low maintenance: Allium wanted a solution that would stand the test of time and the unpredictable British weather. Wet pour rubber is highly resistant to weather elements including rain, wind and UV rays, ensuring year-round usage without the hassles of regular maintenance.Stability and non-slip: Allium understood the importance of providing a stable, non-slip surface conducive to running, jumping and all other kinds of play.The Wet Pour Rubber Installation ProcessThe journey to achieve a safe and visually appealing play space began with the excavation of the existing grass and soil surface. In its place, a strong sub-base was prepared to provide a solid foundation for the rubber surfacing. This crucial step helps to ensure the stability and longevity of the play area.Next, SBR rubber was mixed with our rubber resin binder in a forced action mixer. This mixture was then laid and trowelled onto the prepared sub-base. The thickness of the SBR base determines the critical fall height rating of the rubber surface, so it is highly recommended that you plan carefully to ensure your new surface provides a suitable CFH rating for the play equipment it is under.Following this, the Reseda Green wet pour rubber was mixed together with our specialist rubber crumb resin binder in a forced action mixer. The skilled team then hand-trowelled this attractive 15mm top layer onto the SBR base, creating a seamless and resilient surface beneath the climbing frame and slide. The unique green colour adds an inviting touch to the garden.With the safety surface in place and fully cured, the installation of the climbing frame and slide followed. The team followed the manufacturer's instructions to ensure that all components were securely fastened and the frame was level, stable and firmly anchored to the floor using anchors in the rubber surface. These additional safety measures provided complete peace of mind to the clients, knowing that their children were not only protected by the rubber safety surface but also by a sturdy and securely anchored climbing frame.Project OutcomeThe transformation achieved in the client's garden is nothing short of astonishing. Their children now have a safe, durable and visually appealing play surface beneath a new wooden climbing frame and slide. We were delighted to be commissioned by Brogborough Parish Council in Bedfordshire to design, supply, install and safety surface an upgrade to their existing play area, in the summer of 2021. Equipment needed to suit a wide range of ages and as such, a large selection of equipment was included in the scheme. For older children, the Spell Hill multiplay, with its two large slides, rope bridges, towers and climbing activities, was the perfect structure. A bouldering cube provided extra climbing play, whilst perennial favourites in the form of swings and an inclined roundabout complimented the area.For the younger users, a small slide and 4 separate springers including a dog, bike, butterfly and tractor made for a fun, themed area. Given the semi natural location of the playground, surrounded by mature trees and tall grasses, a TigerMulch surface was chosen to compliment the landscape, with its bike like appearance working nicely with the surroundings.

EverEdge Titan used to path the new perennial paradise at RHS Garden WisleyRHS Garden Wisley’s iconic Glasshouse Borders are being sympathetically redesigned into a perennial paradise by the internationally acclaimed landscape designer Piet Oudolf, who designed the original borders more than 20 years ago. The redesigned garden newly named “The Oudolf Landscape” will be defined by Piet’s signature ‘New Perennial’ style and will be one of the largest and most significant examples of Piet’s work seen in the UK. The Oudolf Landscape aims to transform the borders into a more contemporary and sustainable landscape and will boast a significantly more complex planting scheme with a key focus on resilience to climate change and benefits to wildlife. The large irrigated turfed path will be replaced with curved paths that will lead visitors among bold drifts of naturally self-supporting herbaceous perennials and grasses, while retaining much-loved views of Wisley’s Glasshouse. Blakedown Landscapes was selected as the principal contractor and has been working collaboratively with the RHS Garden Wisley team to bring Piet’s design to life. The team at Blakedown took great care in grading and preparing the new beds ready for planting, as well as installing new self-binding gravel footpaths. They used our EverEdge Titan steel landscape edging to create the curved paths through the landscape.Available in a variety of depths, thicknesses and finishes, Titan is the go-to product for where a strong and flexible edge is required in all areas of landscaping from traditional parterre’s, long sinuous pathways, driveways and more. Titan has proved to be the perfect choice for RHS Garden Wisley where the steel can be quickly and easily manipulated to create the long meandering paths, whilst the inconspicuous appearance of the steel edge once installed will blend seamlessly into the landscape. The end result will be a steel edge that is easy to maintain and not distracting to the eye allowing for the new perennial planting to be the undivided focus.  Work on the remodelling started in the Autumn of 2023 with the plan of reopening to the public in Summer 2024. On this high profile development project the Living Concrete team worked to very tight deadlines installing 580m2 of self-levelling FluidConcrete flooring throughout the house. FluidConcrete has a smooth, Polished-Concrete-like finish, that makes it perfect for a modern, minimalist design that can be easily combined with materials like wood and ceramic and it is also suitable for under-floor heating. It can be applied to interior surfaces, with no need for joins or breaks.The large format bespoke Plain and Corner concrete panels were cast to the client’s individual and unique specifications using our BTX Ultra High Performance Concrete mix with a hydrophobic agent to limit moisture absorption. The panels were cut to fit around the staircase and walls and then treated and sealed to make them stain proof.The finished effect is a modern, spacious look that complements client’s design style and creates a truly unique and highly sophisticated space.
