The Pôle d`Échange Serra is located directly opposite the Luxexpo exhibition and congress centre in Kirchberg, Luxembourg. The area combines a new bus terminal regional buses and city buses, a Park & Ride car park with around 600 parking spaces and two office buildings with a total area of approx. 8,000 m². With the help of charging points for electric cars, a small kiosk and high security measures at the bus station, the project aims to make the switch from car to public transport more attractive. Lindner Group was involved in the development of the office space. The originalcontract covered the floor and partition trades, including the installation of the NORTEC raised floor with fitted carpet and the use of timber and glass partitions. These were complemented by matching door systems and wooden wall claddings. Due to thecustomer's high level of satisfaction with Lindner's services, the order was quickly extended during the interior fit-out work: As a result, Lindner realised impressive Ecophon acoustic baffles for the meeting rooms. In addition, mobile partition walls should now find their way into the 4th and 7th floors. The room height of over 5 m on the 7th floor made the installation challenging: However, thanks to the static design and subsequent execution of a steel construction clad with plaster, the connection of the 4m high partition wall could be carried out without any problems. Another highlight of the interior fit-out are the wall absorbers in the meeting rooms, which also serve as acoustic pictures. The perforated CPL panel was created in cooperation with Topakustik using a new production method. The perforation pattern corresponds to a Morse code, which stands for the Luxembourg national anthem.

This high class restaurant chain wanted to retain a classic dining experience and provide a haven for those who appreciated the traditional eating atmosphere. We installed a pole for the exclusive dining room and also the curved net curtain rails running along the windows, all in Antique Brass. A perfect finish for period interiors.

This stunning, large bay window in this private London home was specified with Silent Gliss 50mm Metropole with wave curtain heading custom bent. Wave curtains in Colorama 2 from The Collection from Silent Gliss.

A private home in London was fitted with Metropole 23mm SG 7600 in Ecru. The client selected the pole specifically because the smaller size was more elegant and less imposing on the traditional sash windows. Curtains are Swiss heading by Silent Gliss using Colorama 1 Multicolour.

We were delighted to be awarded the tender to complete playground upgrades for Cowbridge and Llanblethian Town Council, in Wales. We installed a new multipaly with a slide, fireman’s pole and a variety of climbing, two new springers, and a basket swing and standard swing. Associated surfacing works, including ground works and new wet pour rubber, were completed at the same time. The council were delighted with the works, giving the park a much needed face lift.

The Profiline F30/F30 Plus/F60 is a fire resistant 3-part folding wooden ladder. It’s a ready to fit unit with a trapdoor and hatch box with an all-round rubber seal. The F30 is fire resistant tested from the underside, the F30 Plus from above and below and the F60 from below. It is simple to use and when folded away sits on top of the trapdoor. Supplied complete with a handrail, rubber feet and white cover strips to fix onto the hatch box edges. It has a turn latch locking mechanism operated by a wooden pole.

Throughout its long history, Donington Park has seen a number of refurbishments and renovations to maintain its pole position amongst the top race tracks in Britain and across the world. Now owned and operated by the prestigious MotorSport Vision (MSV) Group, Donington Park has benefited tremendously from huge investment in recent months to update and enhance the venue in line with MSV’s other circuits. Having previously worked with Tarkett on other projects, MSV was keen to rekindle its partnership when it came to choosing a high quality flooring solution for its new restaurant at Donington Park.

We were excited to start on this project for EBMS at a school in North London, and the finished scheme look fantastic upon completion. A large motoric track multiplay acted as the centrepiece for the area. This structure contains an enormous amount of play features, with two tall slides, net play, bridges, fireman’s poles, climbing tracks, monkey bars, and much, much more!Along with the centrepiece, three new sets of swings were installed, with a basket swing and two sets of flats swings, together with a challenging trim trail. A Stork’s nest climbing frame complete with new wet pour surfacing and ground works finished the project, with the kids at the school chomping at the bit to start playing.

An urban luxury conversion in the heart of Nottingham City Centre. This project involved the contractor converting a commercial building within a conservation area into luxury apartments.There were various design issues that needed to be overcome, including curved on plan bays. The curved bays required a bay pole system to allow the installer to gain the necessary shape profile.An added challenge was window size. There were a number of large, multi-part windows in apartments accessed via tight staircases and small door openings. To overcome this we made some of the larger units in kit form and sent one of our experienced fabricators to site to assemble them in situ.A key requirement was noise abatement which was achieved with acoustic glazing and an optimal 100mm air gap, adding - on average - 35DB of noise reduction on top of that provided by the primary windows.The end result were minimal profiles matching original sightlines, coupled with significant thermal and acoustic performance improvements. 

We completed this large redevelopment of this school’s playground in Ealing, West London, over the summer holidays. The teachers were looking for two separate zones for older and younger children, with the junior zone to feature challenging, stimulating equipment .The Lappset Motoric Track acted as a perfect centrepiece for the area, being able to entertain large numbers of users for busy break and lunch times. The 6 tower structure features interlinked climbing nets, rope bridges, fireman’s pole, a large slide, climbing panels, and much more, giving hours of endless fun. A space net climbing frame is positioned adjacent to the track, providing additional climbing and challenge for older aged children.The younger age zone is comprised of an exciting multiplay structure, natural themed trim trail, and two crawl tunnels under earth mounds.The equipment was constructed from glue laminate timber and green panelling, to blend in with the treelined surroundings of the play area. For the surfacing elements of the works, artificial grass was selected, to compliment the natural aesthetic. 

During the autumn of 2023, we installed this beautiful, natural themed new play area at St Martin’s, Jersey. This project saw a collaborative design approach with a local playground expert on the island, who helped select the equipment, surfacing, and shape the landscaping elements of the works.The centrepiece item was a modified version of the ever popular Lappset Spell Hill, where a set of monkey bars, fireman’s pole, and a different specification slide were added to the original design, to increase the play value and age ranges of who can use the equipment.Two new sets of swings, a seesaw, two spring riders, and musical play panels ensured a well balanced playground that appeals to all ages and abilities. Making the park inclusive for all, no matter their physical abilities, was an important consideration when designing the area, and the large, upright basket swing and sensory attributes of the musical chimes, together with the tasteful landscaping created a welcoming environment for all.The surfacing chosen was mix of green and beige wet pour rubber, ensuring the natural theme carried through to all elements of the design.We loved working on this project, and it was great to shape the design with the input of local people on the island. We designed, supplied, installed, and surfaced this new playground in East London, with the project completing in December 2023. The customer was looking for strong, durable, and attractive looking equipment, and our stainless steel range from Spiel Bau was perfect for the requirement. Spiel Bau equipment comes with lifetime guarantees on stainless steel elements, and has been designed to provide excitement and challenge for children of all ages.The centrepiece unit, the Beeskow multiplay, features two decks linked by an inclined rope bridge, monkey bars, a fireman’s pole, traditional slide, rail slide, and an overhanging climbing wall. The stainless steel uprights combined with hardwood robinia decking and panelling gives a beautiful, architectural finish. The large size and wide variety of play features ensures a high number of children can use the structure at any one time, making it a great piece for parks in high use areas such as this.The multiplay was complimented by two stainless steel climbing frames, the first a crow’s nest look out tower and the second an linear, obstacle course style structure. A stainless steel rope end swing, Stainless Steel seesaw, Zip Wire, and two springers rounded off the equipment, all of which was surfaced by our inhouse surfacing teams with black and green fleck wet pour rubber. We loved working on this project, introducing high quality equipment and surfacing to a park in much need of redevelopment.

Hudson Quarter is a modern development consisting of four buildings that surround a central courtyard. The £35 million investment has provided 127 apartments over three buildings and a Grade A office space.The site sits on the former grounds of the city’s first railway station and within the ancient city walls. To remain sympathetic to these historic factors and York’s distinctive character the buildings have been deliberately built close together, to mimic tight spaces in the city. The external walls are angled to reflect the organic nature of York’s core. As a connection with its railway past the apartment blocks are all named after stations – Waverley, Victoria, and Kings. Hudson Quarter’s buildings have been carefully designed to step down from Toft Green towards the City Walls to create a new public pedestrian connection between the nearby train station and the Micklegate area. It is here that Artforms Cestis Litter Bins have been supplied to provide a robust waste management solution.The Cestis litter bin features a stylish and simple design with a cast aluminium pole, a galvanised steel container and cast aluminium cover. Further to this, a number of Cafe Cycle Stands with matching powder coated finish to the bins have been installed running parallel to the exterior of the building and ancient walls. Cafe cycle stands offer a unique approach to cycle parking that elevates a space whilst maintaining a secure structure for cycle locking.Using a careful and considerate approach in a highly sensitive location Hudson Quarter has successfully provided a vibrant new place to live and work in the City of York.

Red Mill was originally known as Reedham Ferry drainage mill which was built in the1840s with common sails to drive a single scoop wheel and was brought to wind witha tail pole. In the 1890’s the millwrights England, modernised the machinery andfitted double shuttered patent sails. The Norfolk boat shaped cap held a fantail.In the 1950’s the mill, then derelict was purchased and turned into a sunnyresidence.More recently the Mill was purchased by Laura and John, a youngcouple whose wish was to turn it into a unique, quirky home, set in astunning location.The mill was covered in an impervious, damaging, cement renderand painted red with a modern, non-breathable masonry paint. Theeffect of this was to trap high levels of moisture in the brickwork,making the interior damp and cold.The owners wanted to do the right thing for the building, so setabout the long, hard labour of love that was hand stripping it all backto the original red brick, internally and externally.Best of Lime were contacted by Laura and John to come up withsuitable products to reinstate the external lime render and internallime plaster.After visiting site, it was decided that externally, the mill neededRendercote, a robust lime render developed for high exposuremasonry. Internally, the dubbing out and base coat would beinsulated Warmcote, with a Limecote finish to give a visually softlook.Maltby Plastering Ltd , traditional lime plasterers were chosen tocarry out the project.Internally, Laura and John wanted to contrast the soft curves of theLimecote with a hint of the industrial origins of the mill, so checkerplate steel was used for sills and the staircases, to give a greatvisual effect.Externally, the Rendercote is trowel finished smooth, expertlyapplied by the Maltby Team on a difficult continuous curve.The finished work was decorated with the breathable, low carbonGraphenstone system.Overall a very satisfying project to be involved in, from a poorlyfunctioning, damp shell to a very smart, warm, dry comfortableand unique home in a beautiful location.

Shortly before the new school year started, the municipality of Ogre in Latvia opened a brand new sports complex at Ogre’s gymnasium. In the contest “Sustainability in Architecture Construction Design in the Baltics 2023”, organised by the Building Design and Construction Council, the sports complex was awarded 1st place in the category “Most Sustainable Project”. It was constructed by MONUM construction company.The multifunctional and energy-efficient sports hall has stationary and mobile tribunes, therefore providing space for up to 1700 spectators. The sports complex meets the requirements of the International Athletic Federation with four circular (200 meters) and six sprint tracks, a sector for the long jump, high jump, pole vault, and shot put. Also, in the centre of the hall, there are team sports courts suitable for basketball, floorball, tennis, volleyball and other games. On the second floor, the project's developers have built halls for a gym, gym classes and choreography. The building is complex and multifunctional, and four different Riga Wood birch plywood products have been applied here. Perforated Riga Decor and Riga Lacquer panels ensure excellent acoustics during sports activities, while Riga Paint gives an elegant touch to the lobby. Riga Ply has been used for various construction elements.“Riga Wood birch plywood products were chosen due to two main factors: it is a sustainable, renewable material with excellent technical properties and durable, with high wear resistance. Furthermore, in sports halls it is important to ensure good acoustics and perforated acoustic panels made of Riga Wood birch plywood panels serve their duty perfectly,” comments Maksims Žaguļins, project manager at MONUM.Riga Wood birch plywood has a long lifespan, and what is no less important, the maintenance is easy too. “In recent years, birch plywood has been used in many sports halls, especially for acoustic panels. The technologies that we use allow us to adjust the panels to the specific needs of each project with great results”, comments Intars Metums, head of the Wholesale Department of Riga Wood Baltics. “Furthermore, the versatility in our Riga Wood birch plywood products allows us to find the best solution, whether it’s for wall lining, floors or tribunes,” adds Intars.

Artform Urban provided timeless external lighting design at a newly restored care home from Signature Senior Lifestyle in North West, London. The complex restoration project combines the Grade II listed 18th Century Hendon Manor with contemporary luxury accommodation and exceptional care. The result creates a homely and familiar surrounding, designed in line with the Gold Standard Framework from Stirling University, which is specifically for those living with memory loss.The red brick building is steeped in history having been used as an RAF Convalescent Home during WW2 and once housed the England Football Team before their 1966 World Cup win. With this in mind, it was crucial that the restoration was completed to the highest standard and preserved as many original features as possible.The high standard is perpetuated throughout the building grounds which include accessible terraces, green spaces, and paths, providing a relaxing and secluded environment for residents to enjoy. It is here that Artform’s Ashbery lighting range ‘shines’ making the exterior accessible in the dark by providing ambient and inviting light. Path lights have been placed around the leafy garden along the winding paths - wall-mounted versions stand out against the red building walls - and tall pole-mounted pedestrian units line the entrance, all working together to complement the environment. The trio of Ashbery lights brings together advanced LED technology and optics, paying homage to traditional lantern-style lighting. There is also a dedicated dementia care complex with 24 apartments. Amenities include a café and restaurant, private dining room, boutique cinema, pub lounge and numerous seating areas for relaxing or socialising. There is also a hair salon and spa for ensuring residents look and feel their best. Othello Hall and Activity Room provides a big flexible space for a range of activities and events, with stage and seating for up to 60 residents and guests.This was a particularly interesting and rewarding project to be involved with that has ensured the best quality of living and comfort is offered to its residents whilst also preserving an important piece of local history.
