The bright area and durable lockers work well together.

Cairngorms National Park Authority are responsible for conservation, heritage, land management, ranger services, skills development, recreation and outdoor access, education and visitor experience, inclusion and outdoor learning. With a requirement to extend existing offices to create a modern working environment which would better support their service provision they appointed Moxon Architects and local contractor A W Laing Ltd to carry out the design and alteration works.

Using INTRAform DM, this back-to-frame Grade A office refurbishment features three bold horizontal stripes of entrance matting to make a striking first impression on visitors. The double-width fibre inserts within the system provide superior dirt and moisture absorption and retention. While the use of the dark-coloured INTRAlux Linear anthracite fibre hides soiling and provides a strong visual contrast to the stone floor.

This grade-2 listing building refurbishment has been transformed into a modern, more collaborative workspace. At the reception area, Milliken's OBEX Tile entrance flooring provides high performance protection and feels comfortable and welcoming underfoot. In the main office space Tectonic and Hidden Plains from Milliken's Nordic Stories collection create a sense of movement and provide exceptional acoustic performance for this more open work environment.

A folly; an ornamental building with no practical purpose built in a large garden. Whilst aspects of this definition can be applied to describe Wolverton Hall Folly, it certainly contradicts the ‘practical purpose’ element with the most appealing of purposes. Wolverton Hall Folly is a retreat for contemplation, an office away from home, a place to entertain and somewhere to enjoy the views, sun and a good book. Can we therefore call this beautiful building a folly?

Principal Place has a 50-storey residential building and a further 3 buildings housing the Amazon head office. Providing a significant land mark development in an area fast becoming a sought after location for residential and commercial reasons. RiserSafe® was used in all buildings in the development specified by Multiplex and installed by Byrne Bros and P.J. Carey. Fully utilising the 11 functions of RiserSafe® across the scheme.

Continuing with the roll-out of cycle parking infrastructure to NHS trusts across the UK, these are the latest secure bike hangars installed this summer at two hospitals for NHS Fife.The two bike hangars have been commissioned to provide secure sheltered cycle parking for staff use, one of which is located at the St Andrews Community Hospital in St Andrews and the other at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife.Each bike hangar can accommodate up to six bikes located within a secure locking system, with bespoke branding graphics provided by Falco as per the clients request. The main lid has been powder coated in an attractive Ultramarine Blue RAL colour for additional durability.Falco provided NHS Fife with a free rendering graphic and CAD drawing to help visualise the bike hangar scheme.FalcoPod Bike Hangar The FalcoPod bike hangar is a robust on-street cycle parking solution designed to meet the needs of cyclists who don’t have access to private cycle parking facilities. The improved innovative shape means that users no longer have to remove some baskets or child seats when storing their bike!Falco design is both evolutionary and innovative by nature and the new FalcoPod is no exception. Raising the bar of commercial space in the city centre, the new 77,000 sq. ft. of prestigious office space required a premium washroom shower cubicle solution.Unity Full Height shower cubicles were specified in the basement shower area of Dublin Landings. With minimal floor and ceiling clearances and flush fronts, Unity Full Height ensures maximum privacy for end users.A sturdy, waterproof and easy to maintain material was required for the 19 new shower cubicles, so Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) was specified. Also impact, scratch and heat resistant, SGL is an ideal choice for busy washroom facilities such as these at Dublin Landings. To complement the modern décor of the room, our popular light grey laminate ‘Cloud’ was selected for the full height shower cubicles, creating a bright, fresh and calm environment.Unity’s stainless steel and satin anodised aluminium hardware is durable and corrosion resistant, ideal for commercial shower areas. Metalline’s glazed in Ultima aluminium insulated panels have provided a specialist touch to the recently completed Weybridge Business Park in the Borough of Runnymede. The commercial office park features a number of office buildings that have been refurbished as part of a redevelopment for Standard Life Investments. The bespoke glazed in panels which feature on the window surrounds to the 1st and 2nd floors were coated in PPC golden beach metallic and feature a fluted design that met the architects vision for the external envelope of the building. The aluminum outer face was fitted with extruded box sections to give the fluted appearance. The aluminium section was then sealed using specialist rivets designed by Metalline for this specific application. Each of the 2 metre panels were then vacuum bonded using Metalline’s new 6-metre vacuum bonding press. Ultima panels are traditionally specified in aluminium with either an anodised finish in natural silver, bronze, black or blue-grey or in a range of polyester powder coated RAL and metallic colours. They can also be provided with a noncombustible A1 fire rated core. Alternative facings such as perforated aluminium, stainless steel or can be incorporated to create a truly bespoke panel.

Flexible workspace providers x+why’s new 33,000 sq ft location at 100 Embankment aims to provide “an impressive space from which to grow and thrive” for start-ups and established businesses across Manchester.Radii, working through our northern contracting office, joined John Robertson Architects and ADT Workplace in May 2023. Working across Ground, Mezz and 1st and 2nd Floors of the space, Radii’s popular single glazed Linear 25 (Rw 39 dB) and Linear 30 (Rw 41 dB) partitions and Hogan single and double pivoting doors (Rw 47 dB) were used for glazed fronts for a variety of different size meeting spaces and offices. Many of these were installed with our popular ‘Rio’ banding.Ei30 single glazed fire rated screens, complete with timber door frame junctions, provide exit route protection.The finished space also benefits from some of the 11 Ei60 FireTec double door sets installed across all eight levels of the building during the original base build Cat A fit out in 2020.

The iconic architecture of the three Kranhäuser buildings in Cologne’s former commercial harbour is reminiscent of the old loading cranes that could once be found here. While the two initial structures were designed as office spaces, the last in the collection – Kranhaus Nord – is entirely residential. This means there were high standards to meet with regard to impact sound insulation in this construction. Fortunately, Schöck Tronsole® type T offered the perfect system solution in this regard.Both the structural engineering and architectural planning processes for this residence had to be adapted accordingly to suit the high-end use of the building. Unlike the design of the office buildings, the bridge abutments are connected via an atrium that leads to the premium apartments rather than being separated.The main stairwell runs right alongside premium apartments, which means sound proofing was a key consideration. This was required not only due to standard building regulations, but also for the fact that “as a provider of luxury apartments complete with a whole host of amenities for international clients, people expect top quality. Thus, the decision was made to use the Schöck Tronsole® sound proofing system: A tried-and-tested solution for integration into stairwells.”

Park House surgery in Cannock is an NHS facility serving the local community. Offering a wide range of health services, it is a busy centre with constant pressure on room space.Working with Horsley Huber Architects and contractors, Three Sixty Commercial Interiors, Style was specified to install two moveable walls to enable the surgery to divide its office space into separate rooms, as and when required.The Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable walls, which are light and smooth to operate, allow staff to quickly reconfigure the office space, depending on the number of people involved and activities taking place.Delivering an impressive 55dB acoustic barrier, staff can work, provide client consultations, host meetings, or run training sessions either side of the walls, completely undisturbed.At Park House surgery an oak finish was added to the panels, however the individual surface finishes are almost unlimited - from genuine wood veneers to decor surfaces.Style is the exclusive UK partner to Dorma Hüppe, Skyfold and SWG and offers an extensive range of moveable, folding and partitioning walls with manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic operation suitable for all requirements and budgets.

Places for People, a group of more than 20 housing providers, developers, property managers and care providers, and known for their full-spectrum approach of placemaking, called upon CDM Stravitec to isolate a gym in one of their latest commercial property developments.Like many other contemporary office buildings, Places for People’s latest project houses a gym. People working in the building can make use of this popular amenity before or after work or during their lunch-break. In order not to disturb those working in the surrounding spaces, the gym needed to be acoustically isolated from the rest of the building structure.A tailored Stravigym XP gym floating floor was installed to acoustically decouple the gym located on the 5th floor of the office building, preventing vibrations from fitness equipment such as falling dumbells, kettlebells, and treadmills from disturbing the people working above and adjacent. The added dBooster® strips increase the system’s performance even further, by decoupling the load distribution layer from the resilient supports.To achieve the finished floor height specified by the architect and to deal with any irregularities of the structural floor, timber chims were placed underneath the dBooster® channels.

We worked with architects IMA to create an innovative new modular cycle centre for a central London office. The cycle centre includes our Forza solid grade laminate lockers complete with digital code access locks. We also installed our highly engineered Marcato toilet and shower cubicles, fitted with stainless steel locks and coat hooks, and finished the new space with bespoke Corian trough vanities.

Filled with energy, vibrancy and excitement, our work at New Bailey in Manchester is a project to be proud of.Four different office and residential buildings and public realm initiatives in the development, totalling 278 works, have been completed. These featured Westfield granite paving and setts in the main areas (6,000m2 of paving and 2,000m2 of setts), Chinese granite setts totalling 1,000m2, Porphyry totalling 400m2 and Portuguese granite paving totalling 500m2.

Situated within the city of Leeds is the recently refurbished Kings House, which is now a prominent multi-tenanted office building. The interior design aspect of the refurbishment would be the responsibility of Wetherby-based Design Tonic Limited. In specifying the crucial flooring aspect of the project Design Tonic would turn to international flooring specialist Gerflor to supply 400m2 from their award-winning Creation 70 Looselay LVT flooring range.

Over 1,000 Profile 22 Optima Chamfered Windows have been used in a conversion project in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. Sim Chem House in Cheadle Hulme was a six storey office block built in the 1960s. The building had been empty for many years and fallen into disrepair. It was purchased by developers Inspired Homes to be redeveloped into 184 studio, one and two bed ultra-high quality apartments aimed at young homeowners.

This student residence hosts the capicity to house students as well as offering 380m2 of office space. In order to comply with passive fire protection requirements Nullifire recommended the use of FB750 fireproof panels, FS702 flame retardant acrylic sealant, On-Site Water-Based Intumescent Basecoat SC801, and On-Site, Water-Based Intumescent Basecoat SC802. The combination of these products provided all of the necessary safety measures for occupants in case of a fire.

Cairngorm Mountain Resort is a popular tourist attraction in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. It is Scotland’s most popular mountain destination thanks to its extensive facilities for people of all ages.The site has undergone some major works over the past few years, including a funicular railway. As such, two of the country's predominant construction entities were selected. A partnership was formed between Electra BST Registered Partnership and constructor Yossi Shiran, the largest engineering company in Israel, to complete this 80-million-dollar stadium over the course of five years.THE SOLUTIONFive Star® Fluid Grout 100 and Five Star Grout enabled contractors to create a unique stadium that is both meticulous and intentional in catering to the convenience of its visitors and players. Five Star's industry-leading cement-based, non-metallic, non-shrink Fluid Grout 100 and Five Star Grout were integral to the stadium's construction.

This project consisted of many Helmsman products, with lockers, cubicles, vanity units and IPS panels being supplied. Alongside the team at Mixbrow Construction and Ipswich Town FC, we designed, manufactured and installed 8 bespoke 1 compartment laminate lockers, 1775mm high x 400mm wide x 500mm deep on a cantilevered seat stand. The theme of the changing rooms was kept slick and professional, with See Group’s Biocarbon Laminate used in colour Gabbro. This fantastic carbon neutral laminate is strong, moisture resistant, easy to clean and has antibacterial protection, perfect for a changing room project. The locks chosen for the lockers were Lowe and Fletcher 2800 combination locks, also a great choice for the coaches’ changing rooms.Whilst we offer a wide range of cubicle options, we worked with the team at Mixbrow Construction to design a bespoke floor to ceiling cubicle to fit their needs. The changing room design featured 2 Bespoke Floor to Ceiling shower cubicles and 1 Bespoke Floor to Ceiling Toilet Cubicle. Also included in the project were 4 sets of IPS (Integrated Plumbing System) Panels and a Solid Grade Laminate Vanity unit, all in matching Solid Grade BioCarbon Laminate in colour Gabbro.

'The Portal' is a new £16 million public services hub in Ellesmere Port, delivered by Vinci Construction UK for Cheshire West and Chester Council. The new facility will be home to more than 500 council and public sector staff, a Job Centre Plus and a Citizen’s Advice Bureau.The building has been constructed with many environmentally friendly elements including solar panels, air source heat pump and electric vehicle charging points. The Portal’s envelope is wrapped at the top and bottom with an attractive, copper coloured metal cladding and a newly formed public realm area will surround the exterior, with bench seating and green landscaped sections.Internally, 'The Portal' consists of large open plan working areas with smaller subsection meeting rooms, break out and kitchen spaces which are present on each level and a main central staircase for circulation.Metal Technology Ltd supplied its 10-35Hi+ commercial entrance doors and System 17 capped curtain walling for the large, glazed sections of the build to approved fabricator and installer RED Systems Limited.Due to open its doors in Spring, it’s fantastic to have been involved in this state-of-the-art, commercial project, which is a catalyst for the wider Ellesmere Port Town Centre regeneration master plan.

Client: Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Design: Populous Main Contractor: Mace Main Products Used: Emshield DFR2 and Emseal Security Seal SSW2Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has moved into its new home which also has a partnership with the American NFL that will see at least two major American football games played at the stadium each season. This was made possible by the innovation of a retractable natural grass pitch, which will be used for Spurs home fixtures and an artificial multi-use surface underneath for the NFL matches, plus concerts and other events. With a seating capacity of 62,000, the Tottenham stadium is designed to ensure that the spectators are closer to the pitch than at any other comparable ground in the UK. It also includes the UK’s largest single tier stand, which will hold up to 17,000 fans in the Spurs home-end. As is typical for modern stadium design, there was a critical requirement for wide and high movement joint sealing systems in several important areas. These included joints in the plant service areas and walkways over prestige VIP and hospitality suites that also had to provide fire resistance, plus the important and often difficult heads-of-doors joints. These requirements were all safely and securely met using Emseal DFR-2 and Emseal SecuritySeal SSW2 respectively

The new £18.9 million Wallyford Primary School opened in February 2019.The school is the first of two to be built in the Wallyford area amidst the construction of 2,050 new houses in the area.Broxap were chosen to supply all external street furniture, cycle shelters and a Keep It Kool canopy.Products included a series of ‘Fallowfield‘ concrete seats which were dressed in Grey BG01 Dressed finish. FSC certified Hardwood Timber planters.Cycle parking is facilitated via Broxap’s Cambridge Junior Shelters with Sheffield Stands beneath.A waterproof Keep it Kool Shade Cairns sail was provided with a Moss Green coloured fabric. This was positioned above a bespoke steel framed bench featuring FSC hardwood Radial Slats, planed and sanded.Also provided in areas around the school were a series of Broxap Synergy 200 MDPE Recycle Bins with general waste and plastic bottles and cans indicators on alternate sides.Roddy Clark, project director for hub South East said, “We’ve delivered a first-class facility for pupils and staff alongside a range of benefits for the wider community. A great deal of work has gone into the design and construction of the new school and the feedback received so far has been extremely positive.”

Addagrip are used to seeing their surfacing systems being used for projects all over the country but it is great to see an installation being undertaken in our own town.As part of the Uckfield town centre improvements project, Addagrip approved contractor Street Tree Care Ltd was appointed to install a number of trees and SuDS compliant Resin Bound tree pit surfacing in the newly widened pavements in Uckfield High Street.Field Maple trees were selected for their compact habit, tolerance of pollution and vibrant autumn colour. Once planted, a stainless steel tray was suspended above the tree root ball and filled with a decorative resin bound porous tree pit surfacing system.The Addastone TP tree pit system consists of a 10mm aggregate bound in a PU resin which provides a hard wearing, low maintenance finish that is porous enough to let the water reach young tree roots but robust enough for the urban environment. A drainage pipe and grill was seated in the Resin Bound surfacing to assist with additional watering that will be carried out from April to September over the next few years.A 10mm Trent aggregate was selected for maximum porosity to help alleviate surface water flooding and to provide a decorative finish to complement the new York Stone pavements.
