With the London team nearly doubling in size in the last 15 years, the company has recently relocated to new premises next to the Old Bailey. Aiming to support an integrated, hybrid way of working, partitioning experts Style worked with architects, HLW and contractor, BW, to create flexibility within the meeting rooms. Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable walls intersect to form a T-shape, allowing up to three individual meetings rooms to be created. With semi-automatic operation, the acoustic seals expand to exactly the required pressure to deliver an impressive acoustic performance of 55db Rw, allowing meetings to take place either side of the partition entirely undisturbed. Finished in a stretched Kvadrat fabric, the moveable walls blend seamlessly with the chic office interior décor. The new Old Bailey offices will provide a vibrant, modern home for the rapidly growing London team of over 1,200 employees. The Coventry Building Society Arena is an award-winning complex situated in the heart of the UK. Maximising revenue opportunities for the exhibition and conference area, Style was commissioned to install a 10 metre high Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable wall, allowing the 54 metre wide hall to be divided into two separate rooms or left as one vast, open-plan space. The Coventry Building Society Arena (often shortened to the CBS Arena, and formerly known as the Ricoh Arena) is a first-class facility that includes a 32,609-seater stadium, conference, exhibition and meeting spaces to cater for events from as small as 7 up to as many as 7,000 delegates, as well as a Hilton hotel and an expansive casino complex. Working on the Ground Floor Lobby, First Floor Gym, Level 10 and Level 17, Planet’s southern contracting team provided an extensive range of fire-rated and non-fire rated partition and door solutions to Building D of the Nine Elms development in Battersea.In the Ground Floor Lobby, non-fire rated single-glazed automatic bi-parting sliding doors were installed along with with 3150mm high LOFT20 XL partitions with reeded film. IsoPro doors (40 dB Rw) provided access to co-working spaces and meeting rooms.FireTec Ei30 fire rated doors and LOFT transom bars provided exit route protection on Level 1 in communal areas and on Level 10 along with a FireTec Ei60 window.On Level 17, two FireTec Ei30 double door sets with overhead panels provided access to the indoor lounge area and bar area, while a single LOFT20 screen offered additional natural light passage between the lounge and adjoining demonstration kitchen.

At 50 years old, and made from timber, the school’s concern was that it would have to be replaced. A MG500 flush glazed sliding folding system completed project in Coventry. Panel profiles finished in a bronzed aluminum to match the project design. Each panel applied with crittall bars and a reeded glass film, these panels make a statement. MondernGlide were involvement in the project via Planet and it’s been a pleasure working in helping with the design and construction works onsite. The redevelopment project was split into 2 different phases. Phase 1 was all about the sympathetic refurbishment of the main B1 auditorium and associated public spaces. It is about retaining and enhancing the historic nature of this space, whilst refurbishing many of the tired and worn finishes and fittings to completely refresh the space The benefit of the MG500 is that we require no structural support within the ceiling meaning this product can be installed anywhere. BACKGROUNDHoworth Air Technology Ltd were selected by the BUPA Cromwell Hospital to redevelop a floor within their flagship hospital to create a dedicated Adult Intensive Care Recovery Suite. MIDDAS supported Howorth and their professional team through concept and detailed design, installation and commissioning.BRIEFHoworth required a modular partition system that was manufactured off site and delivered ready to install. The system needed to integrate with their specialist equipment and services installation while achieving the HTM specifications and fire rating required for the facility. To add a further design dimension, BUPA also wanted to incorporate switchable smart glass throughout the facility for enhanced patient privacy.SOLUTIONThe proven M100 bi-panel and mono-bloc partition system was selected after MIDDAS were able to demonstrate conformity to the hygienic, acoustic, structural and fire rating requirements. The M100 framework is designed to allow services to be routed through it, and to support the secondary equipment supplied by Howorth.The flush glazing and door sets with integrated smart glass were installed throughout the facility, in both fire rated and non-fire rated specification, to achieve the high levels of patient privacy required by BUPA and their clients.

As one of the pioneers of remote working solutions, Citrix recently chose to reconfigure their offices, taking on an additional space at the Cambridge Science Park. Aiming to create an environment that would facilitate engagement, creativity and productivity, moveable wall specialists, Style worked closely with architect, Gensler, and contractor, Area Sq, to offer intensely flexible workspace.Delivering exceptional acoustic ratings of 55dB and 52dB respectively, Style installed two Dorma Hüppe Variflex solid moveable walls and a single Variflex glass moveable wall, allowing Citrix staff to section off a meeting area from the main hall and then further sub-divide the space as required. Contributing to the vibrant new décor, all walls feature black RAL 9005 profiles and dry wipe magnetic boards to encourage brainstorming. Cambridge Science Park has been home to the UK Citrix Research and Development team for over a decade. Having occupied approx. 30,000 sq ft of space on the first floor, Citrix was keen to refurbish their existing workplace as well as expand operations by taking over additional space on the ground floor.Reflecting the Citrix vision and culture, the new layout and design maximises the potential of the space, allowing staff to establish new ways of collaborating.When all three walls are in place, three smaller meeting rooms are created. Alternatively, a combination of one large and one small meeting room can be formed, or just one very large space using just the glass moveable wall. The entire space can also be opened-up into one large open plan area. “This is an excellent example of how a combination of glass and solid moveable walls can create really adaptable office space,” said Steve Williams, sales director for Style Midlands.“Thanks to the inclusion of three pass doors, access is simplified and also allows the glass wall to be left in place for extended periods if desired, creating a more permanent space. “However, due to the semi-automatic operation of these operable walls, they can be opened up extremely quickly so that the entire space can be reconfigured for different vents throughout the day.”

Having previously divided the 1st floor conference facility when etc.venues initially moved into 155 Bishopsgate, London, Style was asked to add further space flexibility when the company recently expanded into the sizeable 2nd floor area.Working with Synergy Architects, and contractor, KPS Partnership Style recommended installing a single, 21 metre long Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable wall down the length of the main conference space. A further five Variflex walls were then installed evenly spaced throughout the room, allowing individual meeting rooms to be created as demand dictates.Maintaining natural light throughout the space, pass-doors are all fully glazed, with an adjacent panel also being fully glazed in each instance. The Living Planet Centre is WWF’s brand-new purpose-built head office in Woking. Hopkins Architects and Willmott Dixon asked Planet to provide specification for internal glass partitions in this two-storey 3,666 sqm building.
For the meeting rooms, Planet Partitioning installed an electronic room booking system within p100 partitioning, so staff can book meeting rooms. For all the meeting rooms, remote controlled integrated venetian blinds allow additional privacy as required. p100 also ensures all meeting rooms meet high acoustic performance requirements.
Planet Partitioning also installed FireStop fire-rated glass partitioning to meet fire regulations throughout the building.

As one of Santander’s approved suppliers, Planet Partitioning was approached directly by the client to specify internal glass partitions and glass doors for the refurbishment of VIP meeting rooms at its UK headquarters. By installing p100 double-glazed partitioning and single and double Sonotec doors in all the VIP meeting rooms, Planet Partitioning achieved the look and the high sound attenuation levels required. Planet also installed electronic room booking systems and three-quarter-high switchable glass division panels for added privacy.
