This is fast moving environment with the need for a reliable and dust reducing solution.The solutionUsing a tried and tested solution, Hart installed these “hybrid” Speedor Cleanrooms with ATEX operators within the repair zone. We worked closely with site engineers to give them the solution they require, rather than a door to fit an opening. The Speedor Cleanroom maintains strict air leakage requirements over specified pressure differentials and a non-touch safety light curtain which ensures maximum protection to personnel. The successHart is a trusted supplier to Nissan and its subcontractors. Having worked on the site since it’s inception, Nissan approached Hart to supply the doors. Your door must be clean and free of any dirt, grease, mildew or grime.A bit of elbow grease and a bowl of soapy water is usually all you’ll need to do the job. However, if there’s any mildew on your garage door, scrub on a 50:50 bleach and water solution, leave it for 10 minutes, then rinse it off.If you have any polishes or waxes on your garage door, you will need to remove these too.Before moving on to the next step, ensure that your garage door is completely dry.Now it’s time to apply PolytrolA deep penetrating oil, Polytrol works by penetrating the surface of your door and re-wetting the pigments. This restores the colour that has been lost over the years, through exposure to pollution, rain and sunlight.Using a brush or a cloth and only working in sections that you can complete in 10-20 minutes, apply a liberal layer of Polytrol.As you work, if you notice any particularly matt and shiny patches, it means that the surface is absorbing Polytrol unevenly. If this happens, just move any surplus oil over to the matt areas.Allow the product to work for 10-20 minutes, then wipe off any excess with a clean, lint-free cloth. If you want a shinier finish, you can also buff the surface with a lint-free cloth.It really is as simple as that…Now, you just need to leave Polytrol to dry.One of the great things about Polytrol, is that it has been designed to dry to a tough and long-lasting flexible finish but with no film, so you won’t need to worry about it peeling or flaking.Plus, Polytrol is now also available in a spray can, to make application super simple.“Couldn’t have wished for a better result”Brian informed us that he:“just chanced upon your advert while browsing the net looking for a product that would improve the look of my door, and I am so very glad that I did…”In his email, Brian also said he “couldn’t have wished for a better result”. Accessible for every visitorThe landmark £78 million Darwin Centre is the most significant development at the Natural History Museum since it moved to South Kensington in 1881. With over four and a half million visitors passing through its doors every year, choosing the right door products was crucial if this popular tourist attraction was going to stand the test of time.dormakaba’s contribution to the projectdormakaba TS 92, TS 93, and ITS 96 cam-action door closers were specified due to their low opening forces in accordance with BS8300 and their aesthetical design, which is in keeping with the overall style of the Darwin Centre. The TS 92 and TS 93 cam-action closers have been installed with the electro-magnetic hold-open feature and have been designed to remain open, closing automatically if the fire alarm is triggered. Offering the illusion of an invisible closer, the ITS 96 is a concealed cam-action closer hidden within the door leaf and frame, complementing the overall modern and sleek design of the new centre.As part of the brief, a wall of glass was to surround the technology and displays within the Darwin Centre, only accessible by staff through glass doors. Due to the small diameter between the wall and the glass door, specialists in glass interior products, Harbrine, overcame this by using dormakaba’s EA pinch free patch fitting which allowed safe access with a clear view of the museum display.dormakaba BTS 75V and BTS 80 floor springs also feature at the redevelopment. These floor springs feature a hydraulically controlled closing cycle, adjustable closing speed and mechanical backcheck.Also installed is dormakaba’s ED 200 – an automatic swing door operator that offers an optimum solution for safety in high traffic areas. During an emergency, fire doors and exit doors must continue to open for people to exit, but close firmly to prevent the fire or smoke spreading. The ED 200 is particularly appropriate for internal fire door applications and has been successfully third party fire tested to EN 1634-1 on timber doors. Its unique package of safety, security and interfacing features means that when a fire alarm is actuated, or when the power is cut, the closer will revert from automatic to manual operation with a hydraulically dampened spring close action.

When the Vivienne Westwood group wanted to project their brand image on to their outlet entrances, they contacted ASH directly to design a door handle.Using the well-known iconic orb logo as a starting point we created a unique polished brass profile with engraved features which reflects their brand and also feels comfortable to touch and operate.We are proud to have provided such a bespoke handle to the location in Nottingham, the same city where the handle was manufactured, and even prouder to see the handle still on the doors 15 years later, providing a testament to the quality and durability of our products and craftsmenship. 

As part of the extension to the Tate Modern there was a requirement for doorsets with unusual characteristics. The RC4 security rated doors were quite large at 3m x 3m which, combined with the need to clad the doors in the same material as the building, created potential certification issues.Teckentrup was part of the team for the project and worked with the test houses through the design process to achieve a solution for the building.

Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) is a rail-road intermodal freight terminal with an associated warehousing estate in Northamptonshire. Owned by Prologis, the business park was originally built in the 90’s, but a recent expansion has added around 4 million square feet of storage and office space. Some buildings are already occupied by leading brands such as Royal Mail, BooHoo, Dunelm, Tesco and Sainsburys.DIRFT’s Unit DC628 (DC10) is a net zero carbon building with 627,707 square foot warehouse space rated BREEAM Excellent. Among its features are solar PV systems, a roof terrace, and enhanced external amenities.Our team was commissioned to provide seating and planting solutions for the outdoor amenity space and roof terrace by BCA Design, Landscape Architects for the project.Our RailRoad modular seating solution with Delta supports, and FSC iroko timber slats, that are left untreated to allow natural weathering, was installed in the outdoor amenity area adjacent to the car park - along with Parallel picnic tables and benches and Zenith 500 litter bins - creating an outdoor lunch break environment in which employees can enjoy during warm weather.Decking supplied by Outdoor Deck was installed on the roof terrace of the building, complete with our AKRI 300 steel planters with 500mm high panels, manufactured from triple process recycled steel, to form a variety of linear shapes filled with plants and greenery to create a peaceful oasis with a view of the countryside.Seating and benches made from FSC Iroko timber which included armrests on some, were integrated onto the planters to provide warehouse staff with quiet spaces to relax. Rutherford House is an imposing 58,000 sq ft office building located within the heart of Birchwood Park, Warrington, providing superior office space to rent for small, medium and large businesses employing up to 100 people. Consisting of two wings of three and five floors, the building has excellent natural lighting and is conveniently located for travel across the region. Recently refurbished to a high standard, the office complex now boasts a full-height glass atrium and spacious reception area. To achieve this record was chosen to remove the existing bi-parting sliding doors and replace them with a K32 Full Glass Revolving Door, pass door with a DFA 127 Swing Operator, full screen and linear framework.The K32 Full Glass Revolving Door, with the drive motor under the floor, provides a striking and welcoming entrance that complements the surrounding glass facade and allows natural light to flood into the building. With large, spacious compartments, the K31 can accommodate the constant flow of building occupants, ensuring they can safely and comfortably enter and exit the building at all times, whilst maintaining an airlock into the reception to create an ambient temperature and help reduce heating costs.To complement the record K32, a pass door with a record DFA 127 Swing Operator, which is silent in operation, has been installed to enable a wider opening, for wheelchair users and deliveries of large bulky items as and when required.

The project undertaken by EJM refrigeration, involved improving its energy efficiency and carbon footprint with the installation of a new CO2 refrigeration system.The two Eiger Doors will enhance operational efficiency in the high-demand environment and will maintain consistent freezer temperatures, while ensuring unimpeded access to cold stores.Since its launch in 2002, the Eiger Door has been installed as a fast-access traffic door at major food retailers, 3PL cold storage and distribution, and frozen food manufacturers across the UK.The Eiger Door ensures that consistent temperatures can be maintained and features an innovative dehumidification system, which prevents snow and ice build-up on the door blade and frame. This feature tackles a consistent issue plaguing other door types, as the freezer encounters humid ambient air entering the cold store.Minimising downtime is also supported by the Eiger Door’s robust construction and its tried and tested crash-out and reset system. Clement was thrilled to be asked to manufacture the new steel windows and doors for this spectacular Arts and Crafts style house in the Hampstead Garden Suburb. The new leaded Brooking windows and W20 steel doors, look just like the originals – perhaps even better! Hampstead handles were chosen for the windows and Kensington handles for the doors. They were all polyester powder painted in RAL 9005 Jet Black to match the frames. Our client is really pleased with the end result and said:“We placed a large order with Clement of double glazed leaded doors and windows. Central to this endeavor was the construction of a state-of-the-art Giraffe Enclosure, a £1 million investment spanning 1.8 acres. CASE: Motorised and concealed roller blinds and awnings across sliding doors

Constructed in 2009, Cardiff International Sports Stadium is the most important athletics stadium in Wales, with capacity for 2,553 seated and 2,400 standing spectators. It serves as the headquarters of Welsh Athletics, the organisation governing Welsh athletics and which is part of UK Athletics, the national umbrella body for sport.The stadium has been given a new look in 2019, with the running track as well as the sprint sections and sector surfaces extensively renovated by Polytan. The choice for the new synthetic surface fell on the “professional among sports surfaces” – the Rekortan M from Polytan. It features in many large athletics stadiums around the world, where its outstanding acceleration and tread elasticity have proven the worth of the surface in international elite sport. For the retopping in the Cardiff International Sports Stadium, the complete renewal of the tartan top was accompanied by a change in the colour of the surface: the athletes are now training and competing on a Rekortan M in “Hertha blue”. Hertha blue is an intensive blue shade that became famous the world over when it was first used in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin in 2004. The sprint sections and the sector surfaces in Cardiff, however, remained in classic brick red, presenting a striking visual contrast with the blue running track and the blue run-up tracks in the sectors.The stadium operators decided to use the opportunity of the surface retopping to add a technical innovation, the Polytan SmarTracks time and data recording system. This is designed to enable comprehensive performance diagnostics of the athletes using timing gates embedded invisibly in the surface. The running time, speed, step length, step frequency and jump height of the users can be recorded and analysed. The system is installed not just on an inside lane but also on two sprint sections.

Typical of most of the houses in the Hampstead Garden Suburb, the style of this beautiful home is influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement.The original steel windows and doors were draughty and no longer fit for purpose and so they needed replacing. The Clement range of Brooking windows, which feature a specialist ‘putty fronted’ system, was chosen together with doors from the Clement W20 range, to match the originals perfectly. The new, bespoke steel doors and windows were painted ‘Jet Black’ on the outside to replicate the previous fenestration and ‘Traffic White’ on the inside to complement the interior. The homeowner said:“I am absolutely delighted with Clement and would recommend them very highly. Their workmen were very professional and swift and they left the house tidy each day. They were a pleasure to have in the house whilst they were doing the work.”

Located in an historic part of Dublin, surrounded by Georgian and Victorian architecture lies One Percy Lane: 3 high-end townhouses. Underneath the curved, zinc roof, the 3 homes have been designed to maximize light and space. Designed to bring serenity in the bustle of the city, each floor connects to the outside with large windows and terraces. Percy Lane features Reynaers CF 77 and CP 155(-LS) sliding and folding door systems, and CS 77 aluminium window systems.

After carrying out a fire door survey, Warwick Hospital undertook measures to protect and refurbish the fire doors throughout their sterilisation unit with Yeoman Shield door protection products.Catering for the sterilisation requirements for all wards and departments within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust as well as GP surgeries and clinics, the department is a hub of activity. The movement of heavily laden trolleys and equipment around the unit had caused impact damage to the department’s doors around door edges, glazing beads and the door fronts. Damage to these particular parts of a fire door can render it unfit for purpose.In this instance Yeoman Shield fired rated door protection products were used to refurbish and then protect from further impact damage. Door edge protectors were fitted to the leading and meeting edges of the doors with door protection panels installed to a height that would shield the most vulnerable areas.For additional protection, particularly to ward off blows to the glazing bead section of the doors, Yeoman Shield’s rub rail was fitted to the face of the door just below the vision panels. Colours of Blue and Red were chosen to distinguish between the contaminated and sterile areas within the unit.Yeoman Shield door protection products come with current and relevant fire certificates and do not affect the integrity of a fire door when installed but will continue to protect from detrimental impact damage for many years to come.Malcolm Bloxham Reactive Supervisor commented “We have used Yeoman Shield for many years and find their door protection products perfect for maintaining our fire doors in good working condition, helping to reduce our door maintenance costs by minimising repair and replacement requirements.”

Installation of Profab Access INTEGRA 4000 Series Riser Doors at 8 Bishopgate

The Junipers is the first of its kind in the south west of England; offering inpatient support that's closer to home for people with complex mental health needs. The design of the purpose-built unit included input from experts by lived experience and is truly a facility designed with people in mind. When we first discussed the plans for The Junipers PICU with Devon Partnership, we knew it was an opportunity to work together to create a new state-of-the-art ward. After reviewing their options, Devon Partnership chose to install our full doorset range. We worked closely with them before, during and after installation to ensure all of the doors and locksets were operating to help both patients and staff.

Sliding pocket doors are hugely beneficial when designing new or refurbished accommodation for people with disabilities where inclusive design is deemed important. More than 30 sliding pocket door systems and 11 Eclisse Hoist pocket door systems have been installed inside the new building. The Eclisse Hoist pocket door system has meant that a hoist lift can be between rooms to transport the young people from one area to another. Three ECLISSE Hoist pocket door systems have been installed in the physiotherapy area and a motorised lifting system in the pool area.

Speedwell Baths were originally opened in 1937, and quickly became a beloved recreational spot for hundreds of Bristol City dwellers for more than 7 decades. Unfortunately, in 2005, Bristol City Council made the decision for the Baths to close. Subsequently, the site remained abandoned for several years until their demolition in 2019.This paved the way for a new five-storey complex comprising 31 affordable homes, featuring a mixture of 1 & 2 bedroom apartments.This signifies the successful conclusion of a vital revitalization initiative for the local community, bringing much-needed affordable housing to Bristol. PARTNERSHIPThe architectural design for this development was entrusted to Angus Meek Architects, a Bristol based firm, who worked alongside Bristol City Council & property developer, Crossman Homes, to bring the project to fruition.HAG Ltd was successfully awarded the contract & crucial responsibility of delivering security and fire protection door solutions throughout the five-story building, leveraging our expertise and track record. THE PROJECTWork on site began in 2019, starting with the dramatic demolition of the historic swimming pool and the building was eventually completed & handed over to Abri Housing Association in January 2022.The front of the building is designed as an "art moderne" style but incorporating elements of art deco detailing from the original Baths, demonstrating that the development has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the area, reflecting the style & shape of the existing building in a contemporary way.HAG Ltd. were delighted to have been chosen to work on such ground-breaking local development and were keen to assist in the design & installation of high-end security & fire protection products that could aesthetically compliment the design & style of the building.Steel doorsets are versatile, can provide high levels of security, as well as fire protection tested to BS EN 1634, and offer excellent value for money. Bespoke options that were utilised on his project, were louvered doors, communal doors & insurance certified doors, which conform to LPS1175.Louvered doors allow for bi-directional airflow, a medium level of security and can be fully customisable to meet your specification. This was key in this project, to allow ventilation to various secure plant rooms across the site and offer a bespoke colour option, so doors can blend seamlessly into their surroundings.In a busy City complex of 31 apartments, secure yet robust communal entrance doors are a necessity to allow for a high level of pedestrian traffic throughout the day. Double glazing panels allow for through vision and locking systems can be adapted to include access control.Our Fireguard Fire Resisting steel doors gave Speedwell Baths fire protection & high levels of security. Fire protection can be guarantee from 60 to 240 minutes and these doors are certified to BS EN 16034. The automatic TSA 160 door drive ensures light and reliable opening and closing of the automatic doors, even in heavily frequented areas. The TS 4000 overhead door closer provides flexible ease of access at swing doors with manual opening. The closing force of the door closers can be individually set and can be perfectly adjusted to meet the needs of each clinical area. They enable door leaves to be opened with minimal effort, e.g. for children and weak adults. The TSA drives make transportation of beds and/or patients easier for clinical staff.Access control for supervised clinical areasTo safeguard access control to sensitive clinical areas, the swing doors to the operating rooms and intensive card wards were also equipped with a TSA drive with an electromagnetic locking system. This guarantees that only authorised persons can enter these areas.

A new state-of-the-art Jaguar Landrover showroom was built for the Helston Group in Taunton. The facilities reflect the latest corporate identity concept and comes complete with a new workshop, multi-storey rooftop parking, and an interactive showroom configuration with display systems.The showroom features wide open spaces and a large sales area to provide the customer with a first-class experience. It also affords staff members greater visibility throughout the showroom and forecourt areas. Lusso were appointed by main contractor, Acheson Construction, to provide internal glazing throughout the showroom and workshop area. Lusso 25 frameless single glazed partitioning system and complimentary Lusso glass doors were installed to form individual offices which allow privacy when needed, whilst still maintaining visibility of the showroom. Lusso 105 double glazed frameless partitions were installed to provide a barrier between the showroom and workshop area.The use of stylish internal glazing as part of the backdrop to the stunning Jaguar Landrover range certainly makes an impact. The end result blends functionality and aesthetics, providing a stylish and contemporary showroom worthy of the prestigious Jaguar Land Rover brand.

A bespoke side sliding sectional garage door by Rundum Meir provides a blend of aesthetics and modern functionality in a Victorian house renovation project. The 19 ft x 12 ft garage has been transformed into a quality working space equipped and finished exquisitely, allowing for use as a utility area or office as well as a vehicular. A clear 2900mm span is provided by a sliding sectional garage door. Hand crafted using knot-free Spruce, this bespoke timber door in RAL 6021 Pale Green is fully automated with insulation between the five solid double skinned timber panels.With one third obscure glazing, the door allows for plenty of natural light to enter the garage. The design of the garage door panels and the cross styles in the window were the customer’s wish to satisfy the local conservation area requirements. It is the perfect example of the role a Rundum Meir garage door can play in transforming a garage to give it new purpose and flexibility.

The Tullamore Court Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Ireland’s picturesque countryside. The 4* accommodation offers its patrons leisure facilities, rooms, a 20-metre swimming pool, a bistro, a bar and a restaurant, which was in desperate need of renovation. The hotel’s main restaurant hadn’t been updated since the late 90s, so interior design practice Helen Casey Design Associates (HCDA) was called upon to bring the space into the 21st Century. HCDA chose Gingham, a predefined colour and pattern combination from the Amtico Designers’ Choice Collection.

The new Santander Work Café in Jersey is the banking institution’s first major high street location in the Channel Islands. The banking space is designed to provide customers with a better experience in a comfortable and open environment and is the work of Santander’s in-house architects, Jose Miguel Perez Tallon and Ruben Sesmero Blanco. They worked with fit-out contractor Style Shopfitting, to specify Amtico Signature LVT, which was fitted by Marett Floorcraft. When considering the design for the new Work Café, Santander’s in-house architect team wanted to experiment with a new floor pattern to bring together the informal meeting and co-working spaces on the ground and first floors. Amtico produced a bespoke version of its Aspekt laying pattern, using shards of Signature in Worn Oak, Solar Pine and Exposed Concrete for an ultramodern and urban look to inspire visitors, create specific zones and link the two floors of the building. The design blends into Worn Oak, laid in Stripwood, to aid wayfinding and subtly connect different areas while complementing the colour scheme. 

The Sash Window Workshop were contacted to replace the windows and doors in a property in the Cotswolds, as part of a large renovation project of the property.The majority of the existing windows were 2 over 2 sash windows, but these didn’t suit the style of the property home so they wanted to get an idea what other styles of sash windows would look like to restore the property to be more period appropriate.After discussing with the customer, a quote was sent across for replacement 6 over 6 sash windows, new casement windows and new doors.When proceeding with the work, they decided to split the work required across several separate orders between October 2020 and July 2021.As the property was in a conservation area and the windows were not being replaced like-for-like, they obtained planning permission for the new windows. After the order was placed with us, we sent across detailed drawings to accompany their planning permission request.The door and windows were then made to their exact requirements in our workshops in Berkshire. They were manufactured in Accoya, which comes with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee, and were finished in a bespoke semi-gloss paint.After the windows and door were manufactured, they were installed by our skilled fitters. In total, across all the orders, 1 complete new window and 2 complete new French doors were manufactured and installed, along with 24 sets of windows having new sashes manufactured and installed into the existing window frames.Since completing the work, the customer has commented that the product and service was excellent and noted that they would recommend us to others. Edgingtons Architects were appointed by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to design and deliver a new build sixth form building for Windsor Girls School. The external detailing of the brickwork takes inspiration from a mature oak tree that sits in close proximity to the building, ground floor representing the tree trunk and first floor the texture of the branches and leaves. Internally the building follows a simple layout with a neutral palette of cream, grey and light wood finishes.The ironmongery brief was to specify a simple, robust and affordable ironmongery scheme that would stand up to the typical heavy use of an education setting while ensuring the products were chosen to ensure a long life span. The scheme centres around our Vieler 522 safety lever handle and matching straight pull handle finished in stainless steel. We also supplied all door signage including stainless steel and black door discs denoting room numbers.
