Rutherford House is an imposing 58,000 sq ft office building located within the heart of Birchwood Park, Warrington, providing superior office space to rent for small, medium and large businesses employing up to 100 people. Consisting of two wings of three and five floors, the building has excellent natural lighting and is conveniently located for travel across the region. Recently refurbished to a high standard, the office complex now boasts a full-height glass atrium and spacious reception area. To achieve this record was chosen to remove the existing bi-parting sliding doors and replace them with a K32 Full Glass Revolving Door, pass door with a DFA 127 Swing Operator, full screen and linear framework.The K32 Full Glass Revolving Door, with the drive motor under the floor, provides a striking and welcoming entrance that complements the surrounding glass facade and allows natural light to flood into the building. With large, spacious compartments, the K31 can accommodate the constant flow of building occupants, ensuring they can safely and comfortably enter and exit the building at all times, whilst maintaining an airlock into the reception to create an ambient temperature and help reduce heating costs.To complement the record K32, a pass door with a record DFA 127 Swing Operator, which is silent in operation, has been installed to enable a wider opening, for wheelchair users and deliveries of large bulky items as and when required.

Planet used p100 demountable double-glazed screens for all the classroom frontages and set black laminated timber classroom doors, and for the offices, 30-minuet fire-rated glass doors into our white aluminium slimline door frames. P20 single-glazed demountable partitioning features in the library and sixth form, which includes a gap between each panel of glass, an aesthetic feature to complement the internal atrium glazing. Eclipse sliding doors were used throughout. Planet's Architectural Glass' in-house design team worked with Aedas to make sure the angled atrium glass was in line with the design intent.

Over a number of phases, Clement have manufactured and installed new steel windows and doors from our EB24 range for this magnificent house in the Berkshire countryside. The original home was built in 1905 and the current owners have beautifully refurbished the whole property including the gardens. They have cleverly added a contemporary twist, but have retained all of their home’s original charm. The new slim framed steel windows and doors have opened up the views from the house to the garden and let masses of light into the home. Two different glass types were chosen: leaded light glass for the new multi point locking steel windows and G+ glass for the steel doors, and the combination works perfectly together. The larger panes of glass in the steel doors allow natural light to flow throughout the ground floor. The client said: “Clement Windows Group are a fantastic company. Darling Associates and McLaren Group approached Planet Partitioning to undertake the internal atrium glazing and fire-rated glass doors for their fit-out of Ampersand, London. Planet was specified to design, manufacture and install all the glass partitioning for an internal atrium, balustrades and fire-rated and non–fire rated lift lobby doors. For the atrium, Planet Partitioning used full-height frameless 15.5mm low-iron toughened laminated glass. This highly curved atrium needed glass rising from the door plate to create a fluid feel, complementing the central spiral staircase. Planet then installed steel framework to support the atrium glazing.

As one of Santander’s approved suppliers, Planet Partitioning was approached directly by the client to specify internal glass partitions and glass doors for the refurbishment of VIP meeting rooms at its UK headquarters. By installing p100 double-glazed partitioning and single and double Sonotec doors in all the VIP meeting rooms, Planet Partitioning achieved the look and the high sound attenuation levels required. The development mixes industrial elements with a crisp modern aesthetic by carefully combining characterful architectural features, including vaulted ceilings with exposed brick and steelwork.Named after its architect Charles Fitzroy Doll, the building is clad in decorative thé-au-lait (“tea with milk”) terracotta – Doll's use of grand façades is understood to have resulted in the expression, ‘all dolled up’. The first floor has been fitted out to a high standard with office furniture from Vitra, providing the perfect space for those who want to move in and get straight to work.The lobby mixes vibrate contemporary wall art with industrial light fittings and brickwork. Forza’s in-house CAD team planned the bespoke black oak Firescreen partition wall to match the architect's design. As a market leading passive fire product, this Firescreen provides both integrity from Smoke and Fire and insulation from heat. This is important because in a fire emergency heat has been shown to ignite secondary fires to items, such as curtains or carpets, that are near the other side of non-insulated partitions.Via the Thinking Space Design & Build, Forza Doors supplied twenty FD30 Fire Doors with stained frames and skirting boards to match throughout the five floors of The Charles Doll Building. Chosen to match the steelwork throughout the development, the dark satin finish of the doors was selected from Forza’s Creato range of dyed veneers. This ‘Illunis’ finish is one of twelve fashionable choices in the range. Dyed veneers are an increasingly popular choice with designers as they offer cost savings over stained veneers without compromising quality.The Doors with glass vision panels, required to allow light through to the stairwells, feature our flush and quirk bead. A minimalist design option where one side of the doors is completely flush right up to the glass vision panel and the other side has a very simple elegant bead detailing.

Delivering a dynamic interior, partitioning experts at Style worked with Space Invader architects and contractors, 21 Construction, to create a variety of flexible meeting rooms using a combination of glass and solid Dorma Hüppe moveable wall systems.Style is the only moveable wall specialists able to include fully glazed pass-doors into glass operable walls, as opposed to solid doors, giving the PRS for Music’s offices a light and spacious aesthetic throughout. The entrance was required to be robust, safe, quiet in operation and stylish in appearance. record installed two 3000 mm wide, clear toughened glass, STA 20 sliding doors. Their secure, elegant and efficient operation is guaranteed by a self-controlling microprocessor which continually monitors inputs, including from the three safety sensors, and adjusts performance accordingly. In the event of a power failure the doors can be programmed to remain secure or to open to allow emergency access.

The vibrant shower and changing rooms at Gymbox in Victoria feature our Luminoso glass shower and toilet cubicles, back-painted in a striking mix of bright oranges, reds and yellows to complement the bold tiling design. The cubicles feature high specification 10mm clear float toughened glass doors, partitions and division panels. We also installed floating Corian trough style vanity units with wall mounted taps and soap dispensers in the changing room area.

LiveLink desperately wanted a Space Invader theme in one of its offices to best illustrate the company’s own creativity to clients. Due to its versatility and colour bank, Enhanced Flooring selected Supacord for the job. The whole look was enhanced by black window frames, red window sills and a large glass door etched with a screenshot from the retro arcade game.

The pull plates were required to integrate with arange of glass doors, which meant detailed setting outto ensure compatibility of fixing mechanisms with thespecific toughened glass construction, to avoid any riskof unnecessary strain on the glass material.Further bespoke elements included custom-made pushand pull handles that were fitted to toilet cubicles withconcealed fixings to deliver the desired contemporaryfinish to complement the modern aesthetic throughoutthe building The project is testament to the combined effort of thedesign teams as it involved months of collaboration andplanning between Broadway Malyan, the main contractorISG, and the specialist door providers, to ensure thechosen designs translated into end products that metmechanical compatibility and performance requirements.Allgood was involved at all stages, from inceptionthrough to the manufacturing and delivery. As well asbespoke products, the iconic Modric and Mode ranges- which are crafted from grade 316 solid stainless steel- were selected for their durability and sleek design.These were specified in the RIBA staff spaces, such asthe meeting rooms, offices and staff accommodation.

A global leader in world finance, the UK head offices of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY Mellon), located in the prestigious 160 Queen Victoria Street building (160 QVS), London, have been recently refurbished. Partitioning expert Style was contracted to inject a high level of flexibility into the space, encouraging a positive environment by allowing the easy creation of personal work areas, divided meeting rooms and brainstorming hotspots. In the Thames Room, a large C-shaped Dorma Hüppe Variflex glass moveable wall offers 52dB acoustics, fully glazed pass doors and a stylish crittall-effect. Whilst Style’s unique working walls are installed in the Innovation Centre. Finished in a striking blue painted glass, the individual panels spin and slide along ceiling tracks, allowing freedom to segment the space into a wide variety of configurations. Elsewhere, a 59dB semi-automatic Dorma Hüppe Variflex solid moveable wall finished in contemporary fabric-wrapped panels, abuts a fixed glass wall that matches the crittall-effect of the glass Variflex, providing seamless interior design.As the world's largest custodian bank and asset servicing company, BNY Mellon is the main occupier of 160 QVS – a building which occupies an entire block and which actually has four separate postcodes! The newly refitted corporate headquarters comprises of both offices as well as a trading floor, delivering a flagship workplace fit for the future.Working with architects, T P Bennett and contractors ISG, Style was specified to create flexible space at BNY Mellon’s London offices using a blend of solid moveable walls, glass moveable walls and Style’s innovative working walls – designed for agile, collaborative space.“This is a great example of using various types of moveable and working walls to give different types of flexibility in various meeting areas and collaboration zones,” said Michael Porter, sales director at Style South.“It also highlights Style’s key strengths in the market in terms of our working walls and fully glazed pass doors, which are unrivalled and highly unique.”

Linework Architects imaginative use of architectural glass rooflights was key to transforming this period north London property. Lineworks director, Robert Haworth collaborated with Glazing Vision with the objective of delivering natural daylight and a touch of glamour to some tricky spaces whilst maintaining privacy where needed.The design brief for the project called for an ultra-minimalist final finish, so it was important that all of the glazing featured minimal framework and a clean integration with the building fabric itself.Glazing Visions philosophy of minimum framework, maximum daylight was the preferred solution and met all of the design requirements, providing enough flexibility to tackle the various challenges that the scheme presented. The property comprises of three stories with a mixture of extensions added to increase usable living space, the problem with this is that some of these areas can be starved of natural daylight, making them gloomy and uninviting, in order to combat this, several types of rooflight needed to be specified to tackle each of the areas.Beginning on the ground floor, a wrap around extension has been created featuring a modern and contemporary kitchen dining area leading on to the garden. A large set of sliding glass doors provides natural daylight and access to the outdoor space, but their effectiveness at delivering enough daylight is limited as you go deeper into the building where it would begin to feel darker and more claustrophobic.To address this, a Glazing Vision modular rooflight system measuring over six metres in length runs along the entire length of the extension, this unit is fixed structurally to the original wall of the building creating the feeling of a ‘glass roof’ when transitioning from the original building to the new. Manufacturing the unit in three sections allowed it to be successfully maneuvered on site without the use for an expensive crane and the structural silicone joints between the sections maintained the frameless appearance needed to compliment the minimalist interior.“All three rooflights were quite tricky to install because the property was a terraced house and there was no ability to use a crane. Somehow the team got them in!” Robert Haworth, Director, Linework Architects.The creation of a second storey extension was essential to provide a large family bathroom space, but this meant that the stairwell leading to it was another area potentially starved of natural daylight. Installing a rooflight overhead was a logical solution, but this was complicated by the position of the stairwell being located beneath two opposing pitched roofs. An off the shelf solution would not be acceptable as any rooflight installed above would need to be designed to accommodate this tricky detail.As rooflight specialists, Glazing Vision were able to design and manufacture a custom shaped fixed Flushglaze unit specifically for this part of the building.Therefore maximising the amount of overhead glazing and thus lighting the stairwell sufficiently so that it can be used safely without the need for artificial lighting. Perhaps one of the most quirky and inventive parts of this renovation is the use of glazing in the bathroom, the client had specified a large walk-in shower area which was easily achievable given the space available but would have resulted in the shower being located in a dark corner of the room necessitating the use of artificial lighting. Natural daylight is critical when attempting to achieve a minimalist scheme, so Linework Architects wanted to ensure that this element was carried through to all corners of the building.“We were trying to make a really exceptional bathroom space, so we decided to use the Eaves Rooflight, and play with the glass transparencies.” Robert Haworth, Director, Linework Architects.The resulting installation delivers a floor to ceiling vertical glass window section which transitions into the roof seamlessly with no additional framework, this creative solution provides a unique design element to the bathroom and the much-needed daylight to open up the space. Being a bathroom, privacy also had to be addressed, particularly in the shower area! Glazing Vision recommended the use of opaque satin etched glass which provides enough translucency to allow light to permeate, but also presents a frosted glass finish sparing the blushes of anyone using the shower.Taking around five months to complete, this was not a straightforward scheme to deliver, however the end result can be considered transformative. Linework Architects uncompromising and inventive use of glass rooflights has proved incredibly successful in this project and contributed greatly to the feeling of light, air, and space in this minimalist haven.

Our Glass Lockers with a mixture of three and six compartments filled the changing rooms in Ponteland High School, suitable for both wet and dry envirnoment. Main colours white and blue were used for the locker glass doors, and ABET Laminate colour infills in Spring White and California Blue. The colours and material give a mature feel in the changing rooms in both fitness and leisure areas. Ojmar OTS Basic locks are user friendly and were used for safety and ease. Overall the Ponteland project speaks for it self as it is aesthetically pleasing and provide high quality storage solution.

Sheffield Hallam University’s new three-floor, purpose-built teaching facility, the Heart of the Campus Building, is another eye-catching addition to this burgeoning northern university. Planet Partitioning used p100 double glazing to glaze around 50 room frontages, including seminar and study rooms, installing IsoClear single glass doors throughout to ensure excellent acoustic performance. This involved using a minimum framework to help create a modern, contemporary look and feel. Planet Partitioning also installed large angular atrium glass screens on the top floor of the communal area to form an impressive 50-metre long ‘U’ shape.
